Fortress of Ice

It’s nothing but fear
That freezes my heart
With a desire to be free
It makes me feel sad
And slowly kills the joy within me


No freedom in love
No love in my life
But the truth whispers
That the loneliness I have
Is not the freedom I want

Deep within the shadows
That circle in my mind
Glows a spark of love
Fading, but still burning
Waiting for the soul I cannot find

Now in the dungeons of my realm
I almost feel the warmth of his embrace
Can it be the key to escape?
A sword to slay my demons?
To end those dark lonely days?

My soul now seeks shelter
In this fortress of ice
But still I wonder if
