Yeah I just noticed she stood there trying to use the little girls room for longer then usual so not sure if she will have it tonight but I will be watching her most of tonight. I will keep every one posted.

Update Missy 09-01-07:

Well, Missy has seemed to regressed, I know not what you wanted to hear right? I keeped wondering when she was going to do it, now I know! But other wise, she is looking great. The weather is changing dramatically on Friday, plus the barometric pressure is dropping... So I will bet on her going Friday, or that weekend. But hey, don't bet on me, keep watching her, I don't want to be the blame for you guys missing her birth! LOL. Just to tell you guys, you can go to wefoal, click on live cams, and while you watch mares, you can live chat with some other horse watchers. I usually just enter "Taylor"(of course, enter your name,lol), but not my email address, and just log in. It is a lot of fun. Our vet, Dr. Spencer, came today. He was checking our open mares, everybody looked great! No infections, lets keep it that way. He said we were probably a few days off with Missy, so maybe he is right! Of course, he is a professional. LOL. I am hoping my cold will be better in a few days, I think I was running a fever last night, yuck. I don't want to be giving our new arrival anything. Okay guys, be thinking of names for our baby to be, remember famous horse names is the theme (I like themes, it is cute.). For example: Seabiscut, Pegasus, Scamper, etc. So blog in your ideas, I LOVE to hear them, even if there not in our theme or whatever. Ok, I will be checking Missy around 9 to 9:30, so I can see what's happening, and so I can wave to Torie and baby Erik. LOL. I will talk to you all later, Taylor

Cocoa at Mulligan's Run is a nice black Mini mare that is bred to a palomino & white stud. She was bought already bred at a sale with a Vet statement that she would deliver sometime before the end of December. (haha ) She has had a foal before. She currently doesn't have much of a bag, and on the night of Jan 1st, did a lot of rolling to position the foal. Fooled us all into thinking it was time! Hopefully it won't be too long now! We will update here with any new developments!

Melanie reports that this *awesome* mare is due in 5 or 6 days. We don't know her name, but she receives the care and treatment of a queen and is a joy to watch. If you like the big ones, you might want to put her on your screen. (Her attendants also appear to enjoy being on cam, and one of them just waved at us.)

She has made some HUGE changes today--- she had some discharge today and her shape has changed ALOT- we got some 2% looking milk from her tonight but not sticky...she is getting VERY close.... Keep your eyes peeled!

Update Moon Made 10-01

Thought I would update on Moon. She's slowed down (of course) in her bagging, although still has a good size bag. On the 12th she will be 300 days. Her last foal was foaled at 320 days, and I still think she may go early. In the next day or so I will test her milk for a baseline. Last night she moved around alot but also slept flat out alot...oh god, not another Sleepasaurus!!!! Anyway, she's on cam to get an idea of her pattern and I'll update as she progresses.

Update Brooke 09-01

Brooke is...well...being Brooke. She looks miserable..you can see it in her eyes....and she is definitely uncomfortable. Out in the arena she is lethargic and bites at her sides. She lays flat out a lot, which I know has given several of you a false alarm. Still, she has little more udder development. I continue to watch her closely as she may be one to fool me.
The new mare, Nicki, is settling in to her new home. She's eating and drinking well and none the worse for her long journey this past week. I see little in the way of udder development on her but that could change with either the progesterone shot wearing off or simply the fact that her due date is getting closer. So far, she's been a sweet mare to work with and loves attention.
Rose loves her arena time with her baby....losing all that weight certainly gave her a renewed energy. The baby sticks right to her side and runs just as fast as she does. He's starting to get a bit more shy...I think Rose has taught him that through her motherly attentiveness. Still, he can be sassy, bucking in the stall and hopping up when I stroke his butt. He was down a bit on his pasterns at birth but now is up and nicely straight legged. He's also filling out already! John's got our Buckeye Foal Drench on it's way and once he gets that, he'll be filling out even faster.
As for the rest of our horses, we've been going down the line giving the applicable vaccinations. We like to booster our mares prior to their due dates and worm within a week prior to foaling. We've got the farrier coming to get some feet done prior to the foalings.
Between all the farm work, foal watch at night..plus trying to get some stuff on ebay, my days have been pretty full BUT exciting.

Update Missy & Midnight van Starlightranch

Well cool, I'm not out hear in ciberspace alone. For a while I thought I might be writing to myself.

Well, Midnight who we don't want to progress. Continues to form a clear white wax, drop it off and build some more. From past history she always does this as she gets closer to foaling. She is not yet forming the sticky wax that lets us know she is not far off. We have upped Midnights regimate a little more to hopefully hold her off a few more days. Actually we feel the vets would be happy we have gotten her this far. They were not sure she would hold the foal after flipping her uterus in November. So we have made progress but would like to make a little more. She did rest more last night then she had all days yesterday, but not her normal relaxed rest. She is doing a lot of looking at her belly and rubbing her butt.

Missy is making progress again, her tits are starting to fill out. She is also starting to bit at her sides and contues to rubb her butt. Missy is not due until the 23rd, we did put her underlights a month earlier hoping to get her to foal closer to her foaling date or before. So there is a chance she could go before her due date. As a maiden mare she foaled 12 days late with her filly. Since we are breeding for early foals this sometimes confuses there system that they need to keep building that baby. One reason we feel she went so long in 2006.

So at the moment we are on watch 24/7, since Midnight's pregancy is considered high risk we want to for sure be there when she decides to go.

Van welke merrie was de low allert eigenlijk?
Saddlebrook appaloosas Stond op de monitor maar ik vind de merrie niet op hun site? Weten jullie voor wie dat was?
Ik heb veel cams met een direktelink in mijn favorieten zitten dus ik weet niet juist welke stal ed...

Cookie is een pop up cam, maar er is nog niet veel aan de hand zo te zien.. low alert, het kan best nog wel een hele poos duren..
