well.... Betty has wet wax, but amber color. Her body is ready, we just have to wait on the baby to get ready. Baby Baby.. come out and play!

Update Snickers:
I took Snickers Temp. between five and six like I have been doing each night. Tonight her temp. was 101.3 which made me think perhaps she had in infection. I immediately called the Vet. It has always been my understanding the temp. would go down but he says no that is not true in horses it can go up or down. With the change in temperature, her udder has increased in size and she is soft around the tail. And that foal has really been moving, I sure hope that foal gets in the position. She has layed down out front in the pasture several times and just lay there for ever which is not her habit. Then went to the gate area and just stood for a long time before I put her in the stall at 3:30PM.

Dr. Cooper has said she should foal within twleve hourse. We'll see what she has to say about that. rolleyes.gif

Tonight Fancy had very soft stool. She has a good size udder but I feel will get much larger before she foals. Tennessee is just cruising along, no where near ready.

Will post later if any dramatic change. Hope you get to see this foaling as the days have gone on and on.

I am so tired of waiting for May to foal.. Each night I lie awake watching her for the slightest signs...

The good news is that I can see little beads of wax on the teats tonight(not much so I am not excited yet) and her vulva has become quite relaxed and elongated... she eats her grain but very slow to eat her hay.... Maybe by tomorrow

Shannon looks JUSt as ready. Teats are full to the end.... both mares paced last year..

Update Libby, Abby & Lady:
On the couch again!...
Well...I'm off to start my vigil. So far, she seems to have calmed down a lot. That's either a sign she is waiting for Jillian to come home on Sat. night...or she is saying...I'm tired of this pregnancy...let me take a nap and THEN I'll get it over with. You can bet I'm here watching! Lady and Abby are getting close as well. As soon as Libby has this kid and it's up and nursing fine we'll probably have to switch mares again.

Update Halequin, Sabrina, Shoshone, Precious & Foxy:
We have had a beautiful day we had today. The mares all enjoyed getting out in the sunshine ( of course they had to manage to roll in the dirt too).

Harli seems to me to be the one closest to foaling. Her bag is filed out and I have noticed some slight softening of her hip muscles. Maiden mares normally do not give us all the signals that we would like to see. She is three days away from her due date but we all know that mares rarely look at the calendar. If you are watching her on the cams, chances are you will see her baby really kicking and moving around.

Sabrina has not made any changes that I can see in the past few days. I still don't know for sure what went on with all the changes she made earlier that disappeared, but we will be checking her closely and let you know when things start to change again. I was very relieved to see her baby kicking away late last night as I was watching her on the monitor.

Shoshone is showing no signs that she might be close but as I told you last night, she showed absolutely no signs before foaling last year. We have a monitor on her and have her on the cams just to be sure she doesn't sneak up on us.

Precious is starting to bag up but after checking her this afternoon I think we are safe to leave her out for another night or two. I will be setting up a camera to have on her in the next few days.

Foxy is still not showing any changes but we check her twice daily and I expect her to start soon.

March 17 PATTY HAS WAX!!! I noticed beads of wax on both nipples tonight.

Myron is een kleine vreetzak Haha!

Hij begint ook echt brutaal te worden nu. Ik ga een paar keer per dag even de box in, Macy laat het voor het eerst zomaar toe!
Myron houdt er wel van om gekriebeld te worden en ik oefen wat met het overal aanraken en beentjes optillen.
Straks gaan ze weer naar buiten, zal dan ook weer wat foto's maken.
Jammer alleen dat het weer nog niet meewerkt, het is hier weer koud, winderig en zwaar bewolkt.
Lente? Waar? Boos!
