No bucks Ranch (Gracie) schreef:Happy that the delivery is over and it went pretty smoothly.
Gracie has some tearing but should be ok.
Now if I can just get VIVA (the filly) to nurse I can get some sleep.
Gracie is having some pains and not quite sure what this is all about.
Still trying to figure out what color she is. I say red, the girls say no Mom she is another palomino like Probie.
Time will tell.
Later: Viva is nursing and Gracie seems to be excepting it allright now
Kruger Ranch (Moka) schreef:UPDATE: about 5:15pm
Well, we had some sunshine & blue sky today;
We opened Moka's outside stall door & let her wander in & out of her stall for a liitle fresh air & to soak up some sunlight.
Hopefully the nice change in our weather will spur her along to foaling a little sooner!
Her udder has filled dramatically in the last 48 hrs & her nipples are very visable.
Both good signs
I plan on braiding her tail this evening so will be checking her up close then.
Misty farms (Fancy) schreef:Yooper she has bagged, began bagging mid december. tysm for keeping an eye on her for me. she is getting closer! not too long now.
Valley Oaks Quarter Horses (Shirley) schreef:Shirley is getting closer, her milk is yellow and tacky as of this morning. I think we should have a baby soon.
Elements (Amber) schreef:Milk is now easily expressed, but clearish. I'va had mares foal quickly with clear milk in the past, but my gut feeling says we have at least another day or more - maybe a few...
Seidler pleasure horses (Sweetie) schreef:Baby was born at 320 days, so a bit premature. The vet is surmising that since Sweetie is 17 and has been having an ongoing bout with laminitis that the cortisols in her system prompted the early foaling. Sweetie also displaces quite easily after foaling, so we are concerned about colic.
Sweetie was treated for colic, tubed with 1 gal mineral oil. 10L of fluids have been administered. She recieved DMSO as an anti-inflammatory for her laminitis. We will be treating with vaso dialation drugs and more fluids as necessary. She is also getting therapeutic dosing with Banamine, as her udder is tender. As you all saw by our dress today, it's warm and our humidity is apx 14%, very low so dehydration is a concern.
The baby is doing very well. Having some minor intestinal difficulties due to being premature and a little "rubbery" legged, but very well all things considered. We'll treat the baby with Probiotic and Lactaid and hope to have "smooth sailing" here on out.
Seidler pleasure horses (Diva) schreef:I hope Diva goes soon!! Not a lot to report, slowly bagging and dropping off at the hip.
J Bar S Ranch (Cat) schreef:Still no wax as of this morning. She is at day 332 today. She is extremely miserable. Just standing out in the pasture all day. Not moving around too much. She is just so big and very grouchy with the other mares. I have the 2 younger mares separated from her as they just kept getting in trouble with her.
We are suppose to get extremely cold tonight and then stay in the 30's tomorrow and deep freeze on Thursday night. Now how much do you want to bet that she will go Thursday night just so I have to go out in that cold!!!
Rockin W Ranch (sissy) schreef:She does have wax now. Taking it day by day. Probably another night in store for me with no sleep. But hey, wouldn't have it any other way!!!
