Took new pics today and wanted to share this one - LauraJo's foal at 4 weeks old -

We still have one more mare to foal for this season - should be due around 10th of Oct. - at least it will be cooler then (I hope). It is so hot now is SE Arkansas.

Nothing has really changed in the last couple of days. I am going to check her with the milk strips tomorrow evening and I'll let you know about that.

Update Pollyanne:
It continues to be really busy around here. We are still in the process of clearing the land for the new pastures and they have started building the levee for the lake. I initially thought that we would have a nice pond but it seems that it has grown into about a 10 or 12 acre lake. The grandkids are already wanting to know if they can swim in it...and it's nowhere near finished yet. Every morning I wake up to the sounds of heavy equipment working. I'll sure be happy when this project is finished.

Pollyanne is making progress. Her bag is larger today and it looks like the baby has dropped even more. She is only testing 2.5 on her milk strip test but she is surely starting to look like she is ready.

I will probably start keeping her in the paddock area at night in the next day or two. When I do that, she will be on the cam. I'll let you know when we do that.

Several of the Mini mares have been confirmed in foal. They are: Henna, Precious, Straw, Cricket, Harlequin. Rosa and Joanie are the Gypsy mares that have been confirmed in foal.

Update Pollyanne:
Pollyanne is just about the same as she was when I last updated you. Her bag is not full enough to make me think that she will foal in the next several days. I have not tested her with the milk strips again because I could not see any change in her. I will keep checking her morning and evening and let you know when she seems like she is getting closer.

Update Pollyanne:
Our neighbor came over and said that he had seen Pollyanne lying down in the pasture about noon. That's something neither of us has seen her do during the day. He said he watched her for awhile to be sure that nothing was going on and she finally go up and started grazing again. Jerry and I went up to the pasture to check on her and she was just fine. She is starting to be very cranky with Joanie and Rosa and we have noticed her staying further away from them than usual. The muscles in her rump have really become soft and her bag in increasing in size. I did test her with the milk strips this afternoon and she has not changed...still 2 1/2 squares. I am thinking that I will probably start keeping her in the paddock area at night tomorrow night. I need to go out tomorrow and clean the spider webs off the camera lens and get the cams back on tomorrow night. Hopefully she will decide to share this baby with us soon.

I'll update you tomorrow night. Watch for the cams to be back on then.

Update Pollyanne:
Pollyanne is continuing to progress and this evening her bag is much larger than this morning. She is testing 3 squares on her milk strips and I am going to start keeping her in the paddock area at night so I can keep an eye on her. She is not wearing a foaling monitor so if any of you see her starting to foal, please give me a call. I don't expect it to be tonight but with horses you never know for sure what they are going to do. I have seen some go from a three to a five in a matter of hours...others will drag it out for days. We have gone back to the smaller cam screen. The other one just did not have the picture quality that we had before. If you want to see in a larger view, just double click on the picture and it will go to a full screen...double click again to go back to the small screen.

I'll let you know if I see anything changing with Pollyanne and update again tomorrow night.

Update Pollyanne:
Hi Everyone,

Well Pollyanne continues to give us more signs that she is getting closer to foaling. She is testing four squares on the milk strips this afternoon. If you were watching last night, you might have noticed that she was lying down several times. This is very unusual for her. We rarely ever see her lie down. Just another sign that she is uncomfortable. We will be watching her and I will let you know if I see anything starting. Again, If you see her starting to foal and don't see us out with her or see that we have posted a labor alert, please give us a call. The number is 870-862-4424.

We are thinking of all of our friends in Florida and praying that everyone stays safe.

Het is weer erg moeilijk om wat te zien. Beeld is prima maar er lopen meerdere tinkers in beeld en welke is nu Pollyanne? Haha!

Gaaf dat er dan toch eindelijk iets uit gaat komen. Lijkt me wel heel irritant als je als eigenaar zo lang op een veulen moet wachten.
Aurora was tien dagen te vroeg en ik hield het al niet meer uit Knipoog

Ik heb vanmorgen Stephany, mijn dochter, weer foto's van Saros laten zien,zij is ook helemaal weg van dat mannetje!

Wanneer ik op die pagina kom dan ga ik eerst naar messageboard en dan pas naar de barncam, probeer dat ook eens!
