Well........ I turned out the results of last years foaling season earlier and that sent Baa into tizzy!! I haven't seen her move that much in many weeks. The 3 boys were running like a bunch of nuts and she was really irritated. They've calmed down and she decided running like that was for the birds and seems to be resting now. I can see the annoying boys wrestling with each other on the outside cam but she seems to be done with the being outside business. She's got a steady drip...drip....drip going now, so lets see when she decides to show us this baby. It won't be to much longer, probably this evening.

Don't worry about her foaling in the field...I have her in the round pen right in front of the house so I can see her everymove right now..so if she does something...I will bring her right back in. Pups will be on Cam 2 about 3:30 today then back on Deb tonight.

Even opgezocht en gevonden in een bericht op marestare:
Take a ring & put a string through it or tie a string on a nail. Hold it over the mare's right hip. If it does not move she it not pregnant. If it goes in a circle it is supposed to be a girl, back & forth is supposed to be a boy. It doesn't always work for the sex, but usually is right for being in foal. It always worked on my mini's.

Even later zegt iemand dat je een haar uit de staart van de merrie moet gebruiken (mét haarzakje) maar bij de dames die het gedaan hebben met een touwtje werkte het blijkbaar ook.

(een nail is hier trouwens een spijker he)
