Ik heb even geen tijd om alles na te lezen maar deze merrie mag wat extra in de gaten gehouden worden, ze stond op het minipaardenforum in america met de vraag of mensen haar wilde helpen in de gaten houden. Geen idee of ze hier al tussen staat.

Hi everyone Im cross posting this from my mb.

Well I think I have got the cam under control now If it acts up again it will not be pretty

Pye had a easy day outside today. Not really moving around much. But im sure she is sore from the fall. I know I would be. The good news is I felt the Foal I poked and poked till he was like listen lady im here and waite till i get out cause im going to Poke you right back

She seems to be doing ok. The vet is comming out in the morning to just make sure but I have a good feeling about it now.

It's going to be freezing here in Fla tonight well for the next 3 nights. Poor horses dont know what to do one week were in the 80's now this week freezing. Grow a coat dont grow a coat there bodys are all waked out.

I think Im out of the woods but will no forsure in the morning. Thank you everyone for there prayers and peeking in on her.

Sassy

Well everyone, she FOOLED ME!!!! I was a little late getting to the barn to feed this am (it happens a lot). I have a 4 year old and a 16 month old at home with me all the time and then my 6 year old goes to school. Well, I have to get the little ones fed and taken care of in the house, load them in the car, and then head to the barn(my barn is a few hundred feet, but down a BIG hill, so walking just doesnt work, although, I could use the workouts...but not with a 4 year old and a 16 month old!!!!), and they have to sit in the car for a bit while I feed. It is WAY too cold for them to be in the barn, and they have loads of toys in there that they only get to play with when they are in the car, so they dont mind. But I have to take care of my kiddos first. My ponies are used to a not so scheduled schedule!!! At night it is much easier, as my husband is home from work then and that is when I usually do all the main work with the other ponies.

Anyway, I dont guess she ever laid down flat last night, either that or not long enough for the monitor to call me. OR I was so tired I didnt wake up for it.....but I got up and checked a few times and boy there a few times last night I really thought she would do it. There was a few paw marks in the stall where she had gotten all the way down to the stall mat, so definately something was bothering her!!!! Her bag is so full and tight I think it might EXPLODE!!!! Teats are all the way filled out and I didnt touch her, I knew she wouldnt appreciate it and try not to bother her if I dont have too....She is grouchy, she may just take a knee cap off if I mess with her udder too much!!!!!

Dallas

Docs Cherokee Lady whom we call Dallas is due on Valentines day..This is her first foal so I have no idea how she will react..She is a laid back mare...Very willing...I am hoping for a filly but will be happy with a healthy baby...

She is bred to a grulla Tobiano so I can not wait to see the color..
She will be in all day and around 5pm will be turned out for a couple of hours depending on the weather..She does not like to be out and would rather be in her stall all day and night...

I will post pics and upates daily...We love taking pics so beware

Update today...She has been bagging up in the am with little going down in the pm...She has soften at the crop but still a ways to go..I have her up early so we can get an idea of what se will be like when not acting normal...

We have 30 days to go...The count down has began...

Midnight

Starlight Ranch Early Morning Update!!!

I have wrapped Midnight's tail. She was not comfortable at all the last time she laid down and when I went out on a check she is very soft behind and elongated and very pushed out in back so she is getting some pressure.

She is not yet streaming milk or have heavy wax so we have some time!! Could be this morning or my guess at the moment is maybe by tomorrow if she continues to increase her activity.

I do feel she is starting to make some real progress. I think Tea knows it also as she is upset in her stall since I came back into the house.

Yes Melanie, we have a passle of barn kitties that the kids drug home recently. They are pretty darn cute and I'm sure you will be seeing them alot on the cam, they seem to love all that straw!

Yes I shave all my mares flanks - or partial belly shave; these minis get so fuzzy and then start to shed, don't want foal ingesting hair and the chance of colic

Luken Lovely

Our Impressive Miss Lark (Missle) and Luken Lovely (Lucy) have decided they'd like to do this thing together. As of last check, Missle's milk is cloudy, but not completely white. She had a miserable day today and was much more active than usual. Since we don't know her, we're watching pretty close now. No wax on her as of yet, but she's getting close. And Lucy, who is just off camera to the right, had wax and her milk is also very cloudy, not quite white either, but we're watching her too. If she does her typical thing, she'll hold off. She's always foaled between 10:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. I'm thinking she's going to hold off until tomorrow night.

And those that were watching us goofing around in the stall, we were trying to arrange the camera to hit both stalls, but it just won't do it. It's not a wide enough lens to cover both stalls. And yes, that was a hammer and mirror you saw... Don't ask, we were trying to get creative so we could see both horses.

So we have Lucy on a different camera that's not being broadcast, but we're watching her in the house along with Missle on the other camera. We have a spare foaling camera & monitor that we haven't used in about 5 years, so we had to dust it off for tonight. So, we'll be sleeping with one eye open tonight, and probably tomorrow as well!

Chelsea

This is my first foal from Chelsea, I have been told she is a sneaky mare and won't show many signs before she foals. Right now she just has a puffy bag but her teats are filling and I was told she doesn't always get a bag so I can't count on that as a sign.
She is a sorrel mare bred to my dun pinto stallion, Warrior
I will be running her cam during the evening hours and may have to resort to my dial up, sorry about that.

When the vet was here this morning checking Neely's little man I had her pull more blood on Streak. I'll post when I know the results. She is doing an estrogen test to see how the baby is doing...and also a progesterone test. Streak is at 290 days today I'm still keeping my fingers crossed! Jen
