ik snapt het even niet, was al boos op barnalarm want had geen alert gekregen, maar deze knapperd is al 16 uur oud, haha. Staat onder de cam beschreven

Heb ff geen cams openstaan, omdat ik al wat aan het uploaden ben op YouTube, en mn PC is Undercover Nederland aan het opnemen, dus zwaar belast

Wel heb ik Aranka opstaan, en barnalarm staat aan!

heb 't gelezen idd van MamaSnoopy...... triest

'Gelukkig' heb ik Temptation van Mulligans gemist, iedere nare bevalling is er 1 teveel, maar heb er nu toch wel een paar héle heftige op de teller staan, volgens mij al 3 dit korte seizoen. Hoop dat de rest van het seizoen wat betere bevallingen gaat brengen, het blijft heel triest.

I thought all day that Temptation was going to go. She was testing ready, had wax and was dripping milk. Phyl flew in to spend some time with us and was able to join us in the barn for her first foaling, but it was soon apparent that this foaling would be tough. Temptation was pushing and not presenting anything. I went in and found two feet and a nose, but it didn't feel right. And it was not coming....no progression. I continued to feel and finally told Shannon that she needed to check. She went in and found the same positioning I did. One hind leg forward, one front leg in the correct position and the head and other leg turned. It was a mess.

We got Temptation on her feet and walked her until the vet arrived. It was not an easy task as she wanted to lay down and push. By the time the vet arrived we had taken her back to her stall because we knew she was crashing and would not be able to get up or walk soon. I honestly felt we were losing our mare and I assumed that our foal was already gone.

Our vet arrived and was able to deliver the foal to the waist but he was stuck at the stifle. We all worked to get him out and we were shocked that he was still alive. He still had a heartbeat upon delivery but it was very light. She gave him a shot in the heart while we administrered oxygen and did CPR, but we were too late.

Temptation is on private cam so we can monitor her. Her colt is with her while she grieves. We will remove the colt in a few hours and she will be back on cam for the remaider of the day. Thank you for the prayers. We were so close to saving him, it's just heartbreaking, but I know that we did all we could. Now we will focus on Temptation and her recovery.

Ondertussen is bij Mulligan's op dezelfde dag de merrie Shanza op de wei bevallen van een merrietje, daar gaat gelukkig alles goed mee, toch nog een klein sprankje hoop en blijdschap op een verdrietige dag.
Ze is daarmee geboren op de eerste dag van de lente (plaatselijk) en ze hebben haar de naam Mulligans Run Dreams In Bloom, roepnaam Blossom gegeven.
