Thank you all for the good wishes! Its a colt.
The baby was upside down....?!! I have NEVER had that happen in all the mares I have foaled at horses at the clinic. So instead of stomach down and head down, it was up like laying on its back. Siegi could not get the baby out at that angle and was having issues. Then when we started helping the bag ripped up in her (OMG) and we had not choice but the get the foal out. We were gentle as we could and she is not bleeding or showing issues! THANK GOD!!! We will check her as soon as the placenta is gone. Another thing is the placenta is super thin. Normally its hard to even rip one open when you NEED to, they are leathery, but this one is super fine.
Anyway, I was a little worried there for a minute or two and had to wake hubby up cuz I needed extra hands.
Im so glad this is the last foal of the year! This is two bad presentations we had this year! TWO! And we have never had one here at the farm before, yet I had TWO in one season.
But....... little boy is here!!
