bij Elements is er nog een drachtige merrie
Mia is at day 325 today and foaled at 335 days 2 years ago with her first foal (a black colt). She is not bagging very much yet, which concerns me a bit, but the vet says that everything looks fine. We will start bringing her in overnight, but will continue to turn her out in the front pasture during the day until she looks close. Once she looks close, we will keep her in the round pen for turn-out time.
Our farm preference: Please call if no one is in the stall/pen and you see the foal coming out, or the mare is down and straining with all 4 legs extended (and awake). Also, please check with the moderators to see if we have been called already. We may wait outside the stall with Miss Mia, but may go in... We'll have to see how she is.
There is usually someone on the property, but we might not always be able to reach the phone quickly. People nearby are on alert, as is the vet. We don't anticipate any issues, but we don't want to take any chances. We very much appreciate the help from our MareStare family!!!

nog eentje die moet bevallen
Hey everyone,
Well, I didn't think I'd have a cam up this year as my only expected baby decided to come almost 4 weeks early - before I even had my stall built, let alone a camera up! But, through a serious of unexpected events, I do have a mare up on cam now.
This is Hannah. She is a 3 year old Shire mare. When I purchased her, neither I nor the lady I got her from knew she was pregnant. But, she is. We know she was bred before November 2008 (that's when the lady I got her from purchased her). When she was discovered to be pregnant about 3 weeks ago the vet figured she was around 10 months along. So at best guess, we're nearing time for the foal to arrive.
We have a lot of reasons to be worried about this one, and not knowing the due date is really the least of them. Hannah was underweight for most of this pregnancy - underweight for if she *hadn't* been pregnant, so even more so knowing she was carrying a foal. She was bred as a two year old, so that adds a bunch of risk as well. She has also been shipped around a lot during the pregnancy - the most recent was to get her to me, rather than letting her foal out at a boarding stable. She's here now, so, fingers crossed. Any help watching her would be much appreciated.
As of August 14th, the foal is carrying low, the area around her croup is sunken and all around the tail head is very soft. Her bag is not quite full, and the milk is not yet sticky and sweet. I'm not sure how fast she'll progress through these stages though.
Hannah will be in her stall at night time and any time I am not able to keep an eye on her. She doesn't like being locked up but I don't want her without eyes on her!
PS: SORRY about the horrible camera viewpoint - this wireless cam doesn't zoom out at all, so we've done the best we can to get the whole stall in the screen.
Hello everyone! Yep, It's me SS from chat and if your not familiar with chat, then drop on in for a visit, you'll be hooked in no time! ANyway's back to Goldie here, She is a 9 year old mare that was born on Fike's Farm, since then she has been through an ordeal with another Owner. I came across her and went down South to see her ,which at that time she was in no shape to brag about. I took her and another mare that was bred at the same Farm basically just to "save" them. Since then I have falling completley "In Love" with them both. There was also another mare Dolly, who I took for the same reason's and now own as wll. Turn's out they were "all" stolen! Somehow if you know me at all I seem to get into the worst situation's but all for the Right reason's (if that makes any sense). When I picked her up along with the other 2 mares and a Stallion (that also was stolen) but has been returned to his rightful owner, I was told that "they" were all together for "about" 3 month's. Dolly had a lethal white Mar. 9th of this year, and so 3 months would be June from that date....that is ALL I have to go by so, its a "MARESTARE AFFAIR!" is all I can say! Now all we have to do is sit and wait, Hopefully she won't pull a "whats her name?" on us......that would be a "Dakota"@ Mulligan's Farm! LMAO okie dokie, That's my Story and I'm stickin' to it! Thank's for starrin and ALL calls are always appreciated! Cam: http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=reapin
I have put Jenna's paint mare on cam at night. She is supposed to be due around Sept 2, but I do not have her breeding dates. She is not really bagging up, and at cam angle and her white, does not look real bred on cam.
I am busy with my mom and work... so any eyes helping at night will be nice.
I have her updates here and you do not need to be a member to check them.
Ja, en nog eentje! (begint nu weer weer te worden om binnen te zitten........)

Elements heeft ook weer een merrie om te staren
Razz is at 308 days today (August 19) and while we know that she has had 3 foals in the past, we have absolutely no history on her foaling patterns. Some might remember that Razz was a rescue, purchased in December of 2007. The shipper picker her up for us on his way up to Pam's to bring her Ranger & Splash, but poor Razz was in such horrific condition that we decided to leave her at Pam's until she had improved a bit and was healthy enough to travel. It took about 8 or 9 months for her to get healthy enough to even TRY to breed her, but despite it being late in the year, we decided to go ahead and try anyway. Razz is now 19 years old, mostly blind in her left eye, but otherwise in excellent health & condition. The vet doesn't expect there to be any problems, but I will be on edge as this mare has become so very precious to me... We will start closing her in overnight, but will continue to turn her out in the big pen during the day (with Mia & Hottie) until she looks ready.
Our farm preference: Please call if no one is in the stall/pen and you see the foal coming out, or the mare is down and straining with all 4 legs extended (and awake). Also, please check with the moderators to see if we have been called already. We will absolutely be with Razz when she is foaling.
There is usually someone on the property, but we might not always be able to reach the phone quickly. People nearby are on alert, as is the vet. We don't anticipate any issues, but we don't want to take any chances. We very much appreciate the help from our MareStare family!!!
update van vandaag
Her bag is getting REALLY full now and the milk is dropping into the nipples, so thinking that it's about time to move this over to the main board - probably later today
het weer ziet er niet best uit voor de komende 2 dagen, dus kom maar op met die veulens

over de paint mare van Strobehn
Her name by the way.. is Hypatia Gigi... I call her the paint mare.. but she answers to Gigi and what she has been called all her life.
She has had 7 foals. No clue on the rest of her foals or breeding dates. Evidently late in the year
She does breathe a tad heavy but that baby is a ways up there.
