Shilo @ ASStec Acres - Due?????
Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours. Thanks for all the mare staring. No real change in Shy's milk. Cloudy, sticky and still salty. Not colostrum. Her little hinney is very swollen and red. Little stink was making him/herself known last night, so all is well in belly town. Have a wonderful day
No bag change late tonight. Her hoo hoo was swollen, red and somewhat open tonight tho. Tried to massage her as usual but her whole body was hard as a rock. Feeling the pressure again tonight. Supposed to be 5 degrees. Already down to 15.
Shilo staat al anderhalf uur op hetzelfde plekje......ze heeft het echt zwaar. Ik hoop voor d'r dat het kleintje snel komt.....

Shilo @ ASStec Acres - Due????? Evening milk back to amber and no taste. No white milk yet. prutsmuts was here visiting yesterday. Trimming her again would make her more sore, he opted not to do it. She has edema in her front legs and of course in front of her bag. Foaling will cure that. Vet just laughs at me. Talked to her again last week. The baby was still too tiny for her to palpatate in September, so she thinks Shy is right on schedule. I did get an enema kit from her last week just in case the pressure gets her too constipated causing colic. Our vet does not induce or do c-sections. We do have a vet in town that does it but his history for live births is poor. There's nothing a vet can do for us at this point. It's up to Shy and her little one to pick the day. And once again since we don't have a breeding date she may be early, late or right on time. I have been watching her since the end of May, when we first got her. Not knowing the mare we did not know any of her signs. Once she has this little one we will know her every move by heart, that's for sure. I think her and little Honey are having a contest to see who can hold out the longest. Happy Staring Everyone.
Idd, toen ze net opstond daarnet, zakte ze steeds door dr achterhand zeg maar, maar komt misschien ook gewoon door de zware buik zeg maar.... staartje staat idd wel steeds omhoog...
Well we made it through another night. She still has cloudy to amber milk but it is sweet this morning. Tail set is low and she is feeling every little pain. You can see the baby has moved back and her belly is more pronounced at the bottom. Best sign is she wanted to eat her ration, but just nibbled at it and then laid down. I have to go check on a neighbors donkey that is trying to foal as well so please call or text me if you see her acting serious.
