both of them have just killed me today...lol. this afternoon tilly did the circle, paw going to lay down, nope...repeat, repeat again, one more time..ok lay down..get up do all again & lay down..went in the stall she stayed down...clean stall around her...still down..get fresh straw to put in shes up...
magic lays down sternal...look at belly..look at belly..out flat for a while, back to sternal...look at belly look at belly..I go in the house fold clothes, my mom is in there with the kids..come back out after 10 min..she is still down...go to the back side of the stall to look in..she is moaning with each breath..walk in to get a better look stays down...til I get around to the back side & stands up
OK whatever ladies...you have had your fun

Hi Everyone

Our last foal for the season is from Fancy, a little 30.5" black mini mare, and by the same stallion that Gypsy was in foal to, Lot Sa Funs Tru Snapshot - IMP to Australia for
18month, and Exp back to USA this year, to win World Top 3.

I will be over the moon if Fancy can give us as nice a foal as Gypsy has produced by Snapshot.

Fancy is 312 days today, she had a small udder but had waxed up on day 307, but that has stopped. Today she has been butt rubbing like crazy, and her butt is ultra gooey with no tail resistance at all, her vulva is relaxed and inside is dark pink. Her udder is still tiny, but i can express opaque sticky milk from her, so i guess her udder size may or may not increase, and it could be after foaling.

Fancy has a halter alarm on, but she does sleep a lot on her side, which sets it off all through the night. So i do have to turn the alarm off sometimes if she is setting it off over and over, which is why she needs eyes on her.

Fancy will go outside during the day, and if she is staying in the foaling yard, i will put the outside camera on her. But i will post if she wont be on camera for the day, as occasionally she goes to a different paddock so that she can socialise through the fence with other horses. But for the moment she has Gypsy beside her so should be fine.

Please call any time of the day or night if you see anything you think i should be aware of. The phone numbers, including the country number are on the cam page. When in labour, I am normally in the stable as soon as there is a bag and feet presenting, so if i am not in there by then, please alert me.

Fancy is outside now, and i have the camera on her.
She is much the same this morning, only she has two little droplets of milk/wax on the end of each teat, and a few little drops on her legs. Her udder is still only tiny though.

Gave Shy the once over and she had really progressed over night. Her teat is down and swollen and her hoo hoo is opening up full length and stretched. Maybe we will be glad for the long wait because we may not get all the drama. Maybe little stink will just fall out after all. Has the time always been off? Or have I just missed it all these months? It's almost 2 here and the time says almost 4.

If there were a reason she shouldn't have foaled or become PG, we won't know. Her lack of substantial looking teats makes me wonder. Usually once they have had a sucking foal their teats remain refined. Shy had no refined teats. She has one now. Her poo is soft but still formed, for those that are poo watchers. Not the little hard nuggets I am used too. She does have some alfalfa hay to munch on today. That could do it. Glad to see it not hard tho. Would hate to see her with a case of colic on top of everything else. She does look at herself sometimes like what the heck did I eat that's trying to get out. I saw her actually have a battle with the little stink the other day. Stink kicked and she bit, stink kicked and she bit again. Too funny. She does seem more alert and restless tonight. But she did get some rest today. It will be in the teens tonight. brrrrrrrr

HAA expecting Wit's End K.J. to arrive this afternoon Foal due 11/21-29
Okay gang it's time to put your Half Ass Acres watching eyes on for another foal due November 21-29th 2010. Dayle and Joe are on their way now to pick up K.J. from us at Wit's End Farm. She was bred to Wits End Badlands Marauder, who is now a herdsire in New Hampshire.
We are so excited to have K.J. go to HAA to have her foal under the cams and have the help of all the "marestarers" to assist us in watching for this baby.

As you all know we do not have the good computer service at our farm so Dayle and Joe offered their maternity ward for two of my girls to have their foals under their cams. This is fantastic. Please help us all keep an eye on K.J. and the arrival of her foal.

We are sending Raven this trip too but her foal is not due until Dec. 25th. Yep, now you know what we were doing last Christmas! LOL!!!! (no comments)
I will start a thread on Raven a little later. For now they will both be kept together in the same stall and run in paddock. They will be arrving at Dayle's later this afternoon. I think Dayle has already labeled her cams for them so you can take a look and see where they will b e "hanging out". Thanks in advance for your assistance in helping us watching for these 2 "holiday foals"....!

Dayle is bringing one of her jacks, Pepper, to stay here while my girls are taking his "apartment" space at HAA. Watch out we may be having babies this same time next year. LOL

Well miss Fancy is quite comfortable sprawled flat out asleep often again tonight. Setting the alarm off several times, and im having to leave it off while she sleeps for the 3rd time tonight lol
I think she's too comfy for a foal tonight, so i am turning the alarm off so we can both sleep.

She's chosen to ignore stink for the time being. Notice how stretched out she is standing now that she has some medication to take the pain edge off. Makes more room for stink and less crowding and labored breathing for her. Hope I didn't make her feel too good..

tilly is a bit of a puzzle...her udder is still enlarged but not getting any bigger, her urine is sooo strong it will choke you cleaning her stall & still nothing.
magics udder has gone back down, so I am going to put her back out....not quite sure what she is doing but I will keep an eye on her outside if any thing changes I will bring her in but somehow I doubt it.

Misschien valt het mee....

Joni is going to leave her in today. She said she was watching and that she caughed a few times that made her back end jump a little. She is a dark pink inside and is softening and has possibly had some discharge. She is hyper sensitive to sounds today, even was looking for my dogs that were barking in the background & birds landing and walking on the roof.
She was thankful for the call as she wants to be sure she is near by when she foals as she is full full of baby so please call if you think she is getting close.
Joni also thanks you all for watching. Shilo is a very special girl to us all.

Op marestare staat dat haar kling helemaal open is en dat ze het wel verwachten binnen korte tijd.
Ze ligt idd al erg lang plat. Best knpa met zo'n dikke buik ;-)

inderdaad. maar ik denk dat op het moment alles vermoeiend is :(:)

zolang ze rustig ligt, zegt het nog niet zo veel.
ze ligt nu wel rechtop en is aan het gapen. dat kan een teken van spanning zijn. 1 van mijn merries gaat altijd heel erg gapen als ze weeën heeft
