She does seem very calm. But surely it has to be tonight, she has dragged this out for a maiden with all these signs.
I am about to climb in to bed with my lap top. I am very tired from watching her for so long, being so sure she'd foal for 5 nights now, and no naps during the day as i have my neice and nephew here wearing me out.
She has the alarm on, but please dont hesitate to call me if i am not in the stable when foaling, or if there is something amiss.

Thank you all for watching! Hopefully there will be a baby tonight!!

HI, that was angel and the little mare that is usually blanketed in the barn, the yearling, they were enjoying the day, angel is doing fine, but wow, I really would bet my house she foals soon, but I guess I have been known to be wrong, K was here helping wash the trailer and the pickup, went over and gave the mares in the pasture hay, as we will lock them up friday before deer hunting season, so that no accidentally straying bullets get near them, some of those hunters can be pretty wild, we do post all the land around the farms tho, so that helps, we put the kittens together, will see how that goes, they still have a warm pad under the kennel so if they get cold they can lay or sit on that, they seem to be doing pretty good, it is nice to get them out of the tack room, K was playing today with the horses and really enjoyed herself, tami

Wow, i just cannot believe that Gypsy didnt foal last night. A few times i was watching i was sure she was about to go down. Walking around sniffing and looking for somewhere... but nope, changed her mind...

Gypsy is back in the stable. All is much the same tonight, she has had a restless day, lots of butt scratching, belly kicking and biting. Her udder is massive and leaking all over her legs... SURELY tonights the night??

She went out an pawed and rolled outside this morning. Wasn't too comfortable at all. Maybe she can't hold out too much longer. I am watching. Will go lock her in for a while till she calms down.

Good Morning, I want all of you to know that by about 7 am our time, we have the beeper on and we are up or close to it, angel is on the computer a foot from our bed, so I never want any of you to feel you have to be sure to be watching, we so muhc appreciate all the extra eyes, and I agree with all of you, her shape has changed so much in the last months and I just cant imagine her waiting it out until end of Jan or feb timing, she usually hardly shows she is bred and then this year a huge tummy, and her actions are like a close up mare, but then I guess we can all be fooled, imagine, even out of 3 vets, two say this fall and one says Feb, and those are some of the vets we feel in ND should be right on, soooo I guess we wait out a few more weeks, and if not, then we know it will be in 2011, and that of course would be the best, for the foal, as if it is born soon it would be considered one year old Jan 1st, and it would sure mess up showing and also it would not have any friends during weaning etc, but if she waits even tho the foal wlll be older than the rest, it would still have socialization and friends to play with etc, and IT WOULD BE A JOKER BABY< our best mare bred to JOker, would be so exciting, so pros and cons on both dates, thanks all, my vet said again the other day when she ultrasound her in Dec, she felt that foal, well, then that would make her over someone now and she would have to foal soon, if not we still will bring her in at nights, and out in the daytime with cams on her, but we would also come and go somewhat, tami

Everything looks good. Loose in the goose, Teat ready, just waiting for that little one to get curious to what all the fuss is about. Maybe will will get to meet the stink tonight. Would we even believe it. Wouldn't a nice daytime foaling be great. It's going to make it to 70 degrees today. We can honestly say she's another day closer. I hate to see her uncomfortable but. it's a good sign. I am trying to watch as I can. But don't hesitate to text or call me if you see something out of her norm.

Good afternoon (well, for us anyway lol).

I have moved Fancy in to a yard infront of Gypsy, alarmed and put a camera on her. Im not sure how the camera will hold up through the night. It is infrared, but im not sure how far it will work for- but worth a try. Doesnt matter if it doesnt work, as she is alarmed.
Anyway, Fancy is a little 30.5" mare who is in foal to the same stallion as Gypsy.
She has been on placentitis treatment for the last few months, and has been foundered, so she is a bit of a problem child. But all is good with her now, she just needs to stay on her meds up until foaling.
She is 307 days today, and only has 1/4 of an udder, but this afternoon she is waxed up, and her milk is opaque in colour. So worth keeping an eye on.

Gypsy did this a week ago before she bagged right up, so maybe it will be a trait of the stallions?? She may well hold on and do what Gypsy is doing to us! LOL

There is only a little awning where Fancy is, so if it rains, i will let her out of that yard so she can get better shelter. She normally stands at the stable anyway, but at least she will have the choice.

Gypsy is the same this afternoon. Uncomfortable and a little restless. DRIPPING milk everywhere. SO SO ready... just needs to get down to business

HI all, well, if I was a betting person, which I am sometimes, haha LOL< I would sure say this little girl will foal this fall yet, yes, our other mares look bred surely, but this mare usually hardly gets a belly ever, hardly ever looks bred, and now her stomach is very large, sorry angel, that i am saying that, but it is true, right ha, but her actions, and her bag is also seeming to get more swollen around, so the wait goes on, I was just visiting with misty moon, and we were both saying, how could this be happening? we have foaled out close to a hundred mares or more, and should know all the signs, and should know dates, etc, but here we sit, like beginners, but then again, the vets are disagreeing with each other too, sooooo, I guess she is fooling everyone, right??? Well, we will give her a few weeks, and see if there is much change, if not, will still have her in nights, and on cam during thedays, but will then expect a foal end of Jan to Feb, 2011, soooo I guess we all wait, right guys? tami

Hey ladies. Shy will go missing in a couple hours. Having a prutsmuts come out and give her tootsies a good trim to see if we can't help the soreness some. Not a good thing to do so close to foaling but I don't see how it could make her more sore than she is now. They are just so long as we have been holding out to do it after the foal is here. I am hoping this will give her a little relief. She is very pink in the hoo hoo this morning and her bag is bigger with the teat more defined. I think she is progressing nicely and I know it's hard to watch. As long as she just looks uncomfortable and not thrashing or bleeding, I think we are fine. Saw the foal, aka stink, doing a number on her last night. So stink is still there and thriving at his/her mother's expense. Keep the good thoughts and there will be an end to this drama soon. Thanks for staring.

Chiquita and Diamond Lil due in November @ Assphalt Acres

I had a light going out in the barn to help the night viewing. Maybe it has burned out. Here's the scoop on Ticker Tape. We went down to Texas last year on November 19th and bought 4 jennets from John Kelley at Simply Sweet Miniature Donkeys. These 4 girls were all bred to Ticker Tape. Three of the foals have already been born...Chilly Willy, Rhedd Butler, and Auburn. We are now waiting on the fourth from Diamond Lil. We showed Auburn at the Indiana State Fair. She is a real looker.
