Stories Due EYES PLEASE! HIGH RISK! Early Labor@McGuire Ranch Back home. Thanks for the call and all the eyes. I did have her up at my sisters. She is a tricky one. I thought I saw her in labor last night she was doing the butt bump ups but no go. Milk still the same, she is a long mare so it doesn't really look like the baby is dropped but I expect her to go anytime. Thanks For the extra eyes. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=mcguire
Apache (3/20) Getting ready!! @ Owens Top of the Hill Horses

Marty **LOW ALERT** due 3/27 @ Baileys Performance Horses I really thought she was going to foal last night, she was on the move and kept laying down and her breathing is very labored. Come on Marty we are waiting.... http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias ... erformance
Fishy VERY OVERDUE @ Comfert Shetlands *banketstaaf **FILLY 4/1** Hi Everyone!!! Ahhh, thank you for the pictures Jean! She is sure a hoot! I will get some more video of her as soon as I can. It rained really good last night so they didnt get out today. She is a rotten little thing for sure! She is a lot like Rose, ROTTEN! Glad you had a great day at the DSC Jean!!! Sounds like fun
Oh does Courtney LOVE the foals Joann! She likes to mess with them and if I let her, would not leave the stall! She is really loving that little filly. She is not a real friendly foal as of yet, so we have to "hold her down" to get to pet her, she does better after we hold her a bit.
As far as Miss Fish, well, she was the same today, not much new with her. Someone was asking how many days Fishy is along now...well, to be honest, not really sure. She was with Wyatt for a month (and he is the only stallion she had there), mom had down she took her out from him on April 1st, unless she was off with the dates. She was later brought here and I turned her out here. I dont run stallions with my mares, the stallions stay up in very safe pens, so she is for sure not bred to anyone else. So, unless mom actually had her with Wyatt longer and missed putting the right date down, or she is a good 365 days now! That isnt impossible by no means, but I have not had a shetland mare go longer than 357 days (well, as far as ones I have hand bred and KNOW they werent exposed any other time, possible I have bought mares already in foal and held on that long). A lot of shetland breeders do pasture breeding, so it is hard to know on some that were already in foal when I got them.
Got a busy day tomorrow, I know everyone else will probably be busy too, but if there is anyone out there that can help with the girls, it would be much appreciated. I have to go out of town with the family in the early afternoon for Easter gatherings with family. It will be nice to get out and about, but I always worry what might be going on at home when I do, especially this time of year! Well, off to bed I go, the Easter Bunny will be coming early am!
Baylee @ Pattis Ponies Due 4/4 (330days) went 332 last yr. She's huge! Well Jill was determined to feel Baylee's udder so i made her use a halter....might as well not get in an argument if you can avoid it right? Anyway she said the udder felt full, but the nipples not filled out...don't know if they usually do so i guess i'll just have to observe that real close the whole time. Gave her a good brushing this morn to get that nasty hair off and help her stay cooler and not want to itch too bad. Her belly looks funny to me it has dropped so much! Well guess she isn't going to give me an Easter Baby...but it won't be long....I hope! http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=pattipony
Sierra (2/11)@ ReapinRainbowMinis Vet was here and flushed Brooke...she said she was surprised at how well Brooke was doing and she didn't even have a temp. Usually mare's that go through that much trauma get very sick and Brooke has done wonderful She said that she would be fine to go no and have more foals (prabably without any prablems at all) that this was just a freak thing to happen that the foal would get that stuck.
I am just thrilled that my Brookey is ok and she is hanging with her herd as usual and watching over her favorite Sierra while we wait for her to foal which will be anytime acording to the Vet. Thank You again all those that have been truley concerned about Brooke and maybe next year we can watch her become a Mommy. We also believe she was a maiden, which was I was unsure of as they came in such bad shape after being stolen for a few years. God Bless~ Wendi Healthy,Safe foalings for everyone http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=reapin
Isabella the Alpine goat @ AprilWood's HafPints going to kid soon Not sure if this will mean anything or not. BUT......Isabella now has little milk droplets on the end of her ta tas. I would think it should be soon, but who knows? I certainly don't. We have never seen her kid before and she has realy never had any concrete signs. Melanie www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=aprilwoods
Megan(4/?) Maiden@ R & D's Miniatures ~~ April**EYES FOR COLT PLEASE **4/4** Update 1 HI all, I am in need of some eyes tonight... the colt has been checked over by a vet and i have been told he needs to be watched. The reason bein is about noon he started actin a lil odd,so we watched him and around 4pm i had went over to pet him and as soon as i cupped him he went dwn and fell asleep. thisreally scared us as i held his limp little body. i didnt know what to think of it but that he was dyin. we called the vet immediatly(but was on another emergency call as well) The little colt responded to bein rubbed and got up and a few mins later when i cupped him up again to look him over he did it again, this time he quit breathin. my grandmother did the mouth to nose and he came around and so we let him lay there for a few to recouperate. the vet called and told us he was on his way. when he got there and we were explainin it to him he told us he has seen it before but that it could also have been from a heart mumur.he did his checkup on him and everything was ok-color was good, temp was good, lungs were clear. but while he was doin the checkup the colt fell over again. this time the vet looked over his limp body,at this eyes, and the veins in his eyes. he told us that it was like narcolepsy but that he would grow out of it in a few days. SO we watch for him to lay dwn-he is not allowed dwn any longer than 20-25mins. so please if you see him dwn that long or longer call me! i will go out and get him up. he is nursin well and had peed and pooped,so nothin really to worry about there. he hasnt laid dwn much today-maybe 4-5times.... Thanks!
Update 2 the last time i checked on him-a few ago-he was sleepin pretty good but normal. nothin out of the ordinary, wasnt doin weird things.... if you cant see him hes under the heat lamp-smart boy lol but if mamas layin its fine,if you havent seen him in an hr please give me a ring and i will go check on him. as he does like to hang around on that wall lol i feel hes already makin some progress! Thanks! http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=randdminis
Lizzie at Fast Horse Farm -- due March 31st -- sweaty and restless today Thank you! It was quite good. We had steaks on the grill. My mom broke her ankle about 3 1/2 weeks ago, so she "coached" dinner from a wheelchair and she was able to help load the dishwasher.
We are under a tornado watch, big storms getting ready to roll through in the next few hours. The mare got her mane washed, cut and her tail rewrapped. She looks fairly content. She is now streaming sweet sticky white milk, though -- coated her bag when she rolled outside. So, shouldn't be long. We are really hoping for a baby tonight. http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=fasthorse
Classy @ Fikes Miniatures is on cam 3, update page 5 Happy Easter to you too. I worked all weekend so just now getting on the computer. I put Classy in the barn tonight. She is on cam 3. Not ready to foal yet - a week or so, I am guessing, but she is bagging up quickly, so who knows. She will come in at night and be out during the day. If I can test milk, I will give you an update on her. Thanks. Sheryll http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=fikecam
Allie @ Dusty Creek Farm due 4/11 **Goes early** Update for tonight, Allie is very uncomfortable. I couldn't get any milk to test, but her udder is fuller and harder than this morning. Her tail is going crazy, so I wrapped her tail.
Lucinda @ CornerStone Drums TESTING 24 HRS OR LESS (due date unknown) Camera is back up!
I've noticed the camera having particular trouble right around sundown - it's wireless and I wonder if that's causing an interference issue. I'm going to quit moving the camera reciever around to try to fix it and instead just leave it in what seems to be the consistently best spot.
Lucinda looks about the same tonight as she did last night - that is to say, she looks ready to pop at any instant. I'm going to quit trying to rpedict when she's going to foal and just wait her out. Silly maiden mares are so hard to guess
We have a storm moving in at the moment, so it's possible we could lose power or have more interference with the camera than usual. It doesn't look like it will be a long storm - probably just over the next 2-3 hours. If you see the camera go down entirely, please call anyways, just to make sure it actually is storm related or not.
Dicey (maiden) due 3/28, [BIG CHANGES, pg 7!] @ Oakwood Farm! Still the same giant bag and miserable attitude. We have a big wind storm here tonight and recent warm weather, so maybe she will pop for an easter baby? http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=oakwoodfarm
Immagidaa at Redwine Roost - showing labor signs!!!Day 326 Imma was a lot quieter last night than the past two. I rested one hour at the time by setting my alarm to check the monitor. I think she could do it anytime. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=redwine
Best Kept Secret @ Half Ass Acres new due date March 28th Bessie has WHITE MILK this morning. She will be foaling today or tomorrow at the latest. Please help me keep an eye on her while I get her foaling stall ready!! Thanks!! http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=minidonk
Baylee @ Pattis Ponies Due 4/4 (330days) went 332 last yr. She's huge! Baylee's vulva getting puffier and her flanks have sunk in lots more due to her belly falling to the ground (well slight exaggeration). It has looked to me that while standing there she has done what Brandy did and stood quite still while a mild contraction made her uncomfortable. Then relaxing........i don't think she has much longer. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=pattipony
Lady 4-12 (dripping milk), Baby 5-2, and Sophie 5-26 @ EZB Ranch Update Lady is still dripping milk... she is very uncomfortable lots of belly kicks, biting, tail swishing and butt rubbing.... come on Lady give it up.. I was going to turn her out and thought better of it so cam should be back on now.. I knew if she went down and was pushing I would never get her back in lol so I just left her windows up and her fans on... I took pics of her bag while I was out here they are....
Moka @ Elements - due 4/8 *I* triggered the low alert late yesterday because she was dripping milk and pooping lots of small mushy piles! As of this morning, her back legs have lots of dried milk on them and her nipples both have large hunks of wax with wet milk oozing around the wax... Cam 1: http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=elements Cam 2: http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=elements2
Junebug at Half Ass Acres has white milk as of 4/6/10!! Junebug got upset this morning about being by herself so I put her best friend with her, Mink. That upset Sheena who was by herself then so I had to put Sheena with the other two tinys in the next stall, Piper and Ramona. Junebug is determined for me to go without sleep for two nights!
Fishy VERY OVERDUE @ Comfert Shetlands *banketstaaf **FILLY 4/1** Jill wanted me to post for her that Fishy had small wax droplets on nipples. it's the yellow/clear liquid so we don't know if that is all she will get until right before foaling or if she will continue this for a couple more days. her udder is very tight so i'm sure she is very uncomfortable and it won't be long now. so we will appreciate your eyes until Jill gets back home. Thanks! Patti http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=comfert
Abby (4/1) 4 days overdue, yellow-tinted sticky milk! @ Sky Song Farm Mornin'! I feel very rested this morning! Hurray!
Abby continues with her yellow sticky milk and full nipples (will try to get a pic soon). Everything pretty much holding. She does seem to be wanting more butt rubs; once in the wee hours of the morning I saw her sleeping on her feet. But, she had backed up to the wall and had her tail *over* the wall. Sound asleep. I guess that was just in case she woke up with the immediate need for a rub? She's also lying down more frequently; but not for very long each time. Hopefully some time outside in the playpen today in between rain squalls.
Megan*CLOSE*Maiden(4/?), Dolly*HighRisk*(4/8), April*COLT*4/4 @ R & D Minis Well another day closer! lol We believe that Megan is possibly in the first stages of labor! she has been up and dwn all mornin and was sweaty. so we are watchin her close-i dnt have the cam on BUT i will def. turn it on if we are either leavin(well i will be for school in a few hrs but someone is here)or if we are possitive she is in labor. April hardly gave us any signs and we thought for sure she would bc she was a maiden! the only thing that told me that April was close was we saw the foal flip around midnight the night she foaled(and im srry i didnt post that evenin about her) her bag hadnt changed,it still wasnt "huge" but boy after she foaled she had a bag on her! Megans bag is big! its comin out between her back legs! her and April were bred around the same time so we should see a foal soon! and with how shes actin prolly sometime in the nxt 24hrs!
Aprils lil colt is doin much much better! he is up and dwn all the time! we are so happy that he is gettin up on his own without us havin to wrry! he still "faints" but its gettin harder for him to do which is great! so he should be outta of it by the end of the week. Thanks!!!
Sweetie & Harley @ shadowpaints *goats* due 4/7 we had a MAJOR snow storm last nite... wind blew snow all over, we are missing 1/4 of our roof.. i have NO idea where that is. prolly under the 2 1/2 feet of snow....
sweetie isnt eating today i will go out in a bit to check her but i have a feeling she is close!
Well, the vet will be out here later today to do a check up on Dancer's filly, Kenya. So if the cams go down this afternoon that is why.
Princess is testing 5 SQUARES and is ready to go This is actually one time I wish my dates were wrong, she is only 286 days today. I will talk to the vet about it when she gets here today and see if she has any suggestions. Don't forget that she foaled at 288 days last year.
Litty (3/20) Overdue *more wax* and Crystal (4/3) @ LawNOrder Ranch... Litty seems very aggitated this morning. I'm not sure if it is labor issues though, or she is just upset, as Amanda had two horses dropped off there late last night. She is keeping one of my friend's two horses and I have the other 4. I think that may be her issue as she probably hears them carrying on outside her stall. Both mares are overdue now http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=jbars
