Update Tennessee & Tinkerbell: Tennessee finally is showing us she is getting closer to foaling. This morning when I checked her she still had alot of loose skin where a bag is suppose to be. But in checking her nipples they were straight down and full of fluid. Tonight I checked her on the refractomentor and she is on the scale. With the way foaling is going this year it is difficult to try and judge what these mares are going to do. We have the Breeder Elert on and will keep a close eye on her.
Tinkerbell is coming along with her bag increasing in size. Neither horse is soft around the tail. But thinks can change so quickly.
Update Florence: FLORENCE HAS COLOSTRUM OFF THE SCALE, SHE IS TESTING 5 SQUARES ON THE MILK STRIPS SO IT MAY BE A LOOOONG NIGHT. SHE GOT THE PRENATAL BEAUTY TREATMENT, GOT IMPORTANT PARTS WASHED, MANE AND TAIL BRUSHED AND TAIL BRAIDED. SHE IS READY FOR HER LABOR. SHE IS DANCING, KICKING HER BELLY AND GENERALLY BEING AS MISERABLE AS SHE HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS. i WILL TRY TO POST AND ALERT AS SOON AS I SEE THE BIRTH IS IMMINENT.
Update Careless: Well all is the same today - except she has been out eating all day and should be FULL!
Bad news is I am leaving to go out of town this afternoon - will return late Sunday night - my parents live behind me and are watching her VERY CLOSE - if you should see something happening and no one in stall call this emerg. # 870-364-5885 or call my barn - they may already be hiding in the background. (They don't like to be on the cam).
I will be SICK if she foals but only mother nature knows what's best...........I will be checking in VERY OFTEN!
Cross your fingers now that she will wait till at least after mid-night Sunday!
