Ik vond net een update over Lass:

Hey guys....! Good Grief, I hope to not have to go through THAT again.
Lass refused to lie down anywhere except the wall, and to make matter worse we had just one leg out, but out to the knee and the other one nowhere in sight. Tried pushing that one back in so I could work on getting the other one out, but nothing was budging. Then was having trouble getting ahold of our vet.
Finally decided in spite of no outside lights, we needed to get her out to the arena where she would have more room, or keep her on her feet to try to slow things down til we got ahold of professional help. The move to the outside sort of sucked the baby back in, and when we let her lie down to foal outside we got the normal two feet presentation.
Baby was huge, and she had a difficult time expelling it. Vet called us back after what seemed like, but was probably really not, forever, and talked us through helping to pull it.
Filly seemed pretty lifeless, we thought sure we were pulling a dead foal. All our mares had been exposed to some fescue, and while the first two seemed unaffected by it, I think it played a part here.... I had a horrible time trying to remove it from the filly's nose.
I think we are okay now... vet will be out at 8:00 am.... I'm sorry I pulled the plug on the cam, but I was so afraid that without reaching the vet at first, and that one-leg-only presentation, that I was going to lose my Lass, and I couldn't stand the thought of it happening in front of an audience. Hope everyone understands that, and is not upset.
A HUGE HUGE thank you and enormous e-hug to all of you, with your well wishes and prayers. They worked: I not only still have my girl, but also a sweet new filly

PS..... Everything above was written immediately after the birth, but didn't actually *post*...update now as of 5:00 am~ Filly still hasn't nursed, and Lass is not letting her. She is not much interested in her baby at all. When filly got so weak she was hardly trying anymore, I managed to milk a small amount into a bottle and got that in the baby. Now baby is sleeping.. I'm headed back outside, if anyone has any ideas on this feel free to call my cell 812-201-4105. thanks, Charla
