veulen is actief....is aardig weggekropen van haar mama en probeert al te staan

merrie is pas 3 jaar oud....hoop dat haar volgende bevallingen wat soeperler gaan :(:)

Larona is a maiden mare due 5/6. She is a daughter of Silver Lining (aka Landwerder) and Carlasona, born here on the farm, and is in foal to Cathalido. She is just a 3 year old. We occassionally breed 2 year olds, but it is with great caution and under special circumstances. She had a couple of injuries that will prevent her from being a competition horse, so she will be a career broodmare. She poked a stick through her left eye which now has a corneal patch. She also slipped on the ice last winter and hyper extended her stifle. Hard luck kid, for sure! Larona is a very sweet girl with a laid back attitude. We are very excited about our first Silver Lining x Cathalido cross.

Boy, that wasn't fun. I sedated Larona after she stood up, had the nasty spill, and then started thrashing so badly. We couldn't get close enough to help her and she was going to hurt herself or one of us. The drugs should be wearing off soon. She did lift her head and nicker at the foal once, but she should be more responsive than she is. Her gums are a bit pale. We are very worried about her, but right now, it is just a waiting game.

wat updates van MareStare

7.10 am
Larona is standing unsteadily. She can not walk on her own. When she fell during the delivery, she re-injured her left hind stifle (an old hyperextension from a fall on the ice), so not only is she ataxic, but the left hind isn't working for her either. She is having no contractions (she didn't really have many during the delivery), so the placenta is not passing. I tied a water filled glove to the bag to help it pass. The vet was called about 90 minutes ago, so hopefully she will be here soon.

7.28 am
She is getting stronger and a bit more steady. I am not so worried for her now and she is being a great mother.

Placenta is out and she has Dex and DMSO on board to help with the ataxia. I am going to head home to sleep once I have seen that the colt is going down & back up on his own, but Matt & Andrea are at the farm. If you see anything that is of concern, my cell number is 918-830-4262. Thanks!

Eveline seems like she is ready in every way except her milk is still clear. It's sticky clear. So it won't be long. But it looks like it won't be right now either.....So I'm heading off to bed for some

hier is net een veulen geboren.....was te laat om de link te plaatsen
zag een blaas, merrie perste en hoppa, veulen gleed er zo mooi uit.
Maar wat ik nu zie, ze hebben daar een ontstopper opgehangen

he jammer weer gemist zit ook steeds te kijken

She is now inside.
This mornig she had WAX! on both nipples? (Is that the right word?).
So slowly she is building up to..... hopefully a nice birth and a beautifull foal

Ik ben ondertussen de opnames van de F1 van vandaag aan het kijken (neee ik wil niet weten wie er wint!) dus was nog bezig met een berichtje hier, sorry!

Ze had dus idd voor haar doen echt mooie waspunten vanmorgen... Dufde bijna niet weg te gaan vandaag..

Ze staat nu weer op stal, maar op de parkeerstand zo te zien. Uier was niet extreem, ga straks nog even kijken en birthalarm omdoen, misschien loopt ie nog gauw even vol (duim duim

Was misschien te enthousiast om het gelijk te plaatsen

Vanmiddag kreeg ik de cam niet aan, maar toen stond ze lekker buiten.
