Cupie - Sunrise Paints - 324 days Hello All...I am Cupie's temporary mom. A little history for you. I am taking temporary care of this mare for her owner and in exchange keeping the foal. Mare is double registered APHA/AQHA, won $9000 in futurities and has 25 SPB halter points. She is a supe mare that I am excited to be getting a foal out of. She is a maiden mare so have NO clue what she will have going on as she gets closer to foaling. If anyone can let me know what she does after midnight in the evenings would be great. Right now my setup does not allow me to watch from bed.
She is in foal to AQHA/APHA stallion Hustlers Fabulous Too.
Her 340 due date is January 23rd.
I also would like to let everyone know so that you can make the decision to watch the birth or not that there is a possibility that the foal could be a lethal white. The mare was already bred when I got her so this was not a decision that I made. My personal opinion is that I would never take the risk. But anyways......just wanted to let you all know of the possibilites.
Thank you so much for any info you can give me on what she does at night. I greatly appreciate the extra eyes.
Right now she will be outside during the day until she shows signs of being closer. Except for saturdays when she will be in all day as I will be at the ski resort with my son while he is taking snowboarding lessons. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=sunrisepaints

It looked like Isis was waiting for something... Probably food *sigh* Well she got her carrots (no Heather, not all #40 LOL) and hay and is looking pretty happy now. I tested her milk and it's back to 17. But... as it's very cold I don't know if it's very accurate now. I took the refractometer with me at home so tomorrow I can test it while it has a normal temperature.
Ze houdt ons voor de gek!

De test gaat om sprongen............maakt niet uit of het naar beneden of naar boven is ............ Maar ze staat er rustig bij te eten (al is en blijft het een mini)
He jammer had wel zin in een spannend avondje staren!

Lady - Kruger Ranch - due january 28 Lady almost seems to be further along than our Moka mare?
Her udder is developed and she is shedding like crazy. Occasionally you will see her pawing & agitated. She lays down a lot.
I am doing a daily count on her gestation days. Her previous owner told me she carries for about 334 days; that would put her due date around January 28th - 3 weeks away.
Cat – J bar S Ranch – due february 4th Ditto – J bar S Ranch – due january 19th My girls are on cam all day today and tomorrow. We are really cold here for the next 3 days and it is just too cold and the wind is blowing too hard for them to be out. Just wanted to update so y'all know they aren't in and on cam because I think they are close. Also - during the day right now normally - I turn the cam off in the barn when they are outside, so if you pull up the cam during the day and it is fuzzy lines - the cams are off til I bring them in at night.
Cat's bag is still huge, but nothing else new on her. Ditto's bag has gotten a little bit bigger overnight. I was to go pick up Didi today, but we have icy roads - so NOPE - not pulling a trailer in this. Will either wait til tomorrow or Saturday. She is only about 20 miles from me - so it isn't a hard ride and she trailers very well. I will post once she is here. I will also try to get signs up in the stalls today or tomorrow with numbers on them and will post on the top of the who is in which stall. http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=jbars
Tea - Starlight Ranch - due january 10th Well as you can see no baby, but her bag is progressing much better than hoped so that is a really good thing!!! Tea is also back to her sweet self which she has not been for about four days, what ever was going on has settled down for a little bit.
She does have her uncomfortable times but is resting a lot longer and more soundly than she was doing at the first of the week. We were affraid she was going to go and her bag was definately not ready. Tea is just three days from her due date!! so pretty much anytime she could show us her special package it is all up to her and the baby.
Tom is at home today, so I went into work. He will be updating me if there are any major changes which I will pass onto everyone.
Patience is not easy when we all want to see this baby, but at least the foal is full term so the important part is that Tea build a good bag and has strong colostrum to give to her baby. The colostrum did arrive so we have everything ready to go, just waiting on the Tea.
Tom will probably turn them out for a while later today in the pasture, but they will only be out for a couple of hours and then back in.
