Enjoy the cam rotating tonight.... and watching the babies too.
Now Em had a little sticky titty with hair all over it. Trying to remember last year how long that went on.
Well I am going to go sleep in a REAL bed tonight. I do not expect Em to do much... but if she changes her mind.. let me know.

You’ve probably all seen Frosty on the main cam now, so she knows it’s getting close. She is still hanging in there, although she looks ready to pop. Her big belly is hanging down really low, she’s been swiping her sides a lot and pooping A LOT and all over her stall (thanks for that, Frosty.) Cookie and baby are doing well. We should have a name for the little guy pretty soon!

SWEET PEA HAS A LEMON SIZE MILK BAG AND IS SOFTENING IN THE REAR. THIS COULD MEAN SOON OR IT COULD MEAN SHE'S GONNA FOAL SOME TIME!! I HAVE NOT TRIED TO MILK TEST HER YET BECAUSE THE BAG STILL FEELS PREMATURE. I WILL TRY TO TEST HER TOMORROW OR SATURDAY. HER DUE DATE IS NEXT WEDNESDAY SO THE MYSTERIOUS EVENTS THAT PREPARE A MARE FOR DELIVERY ARE SURELY AT WORK IN THIS QUIET LITTLE MARE. I RUBBED HER BACK AND SCRATCHED HER CHEST WHEN I CHECKED HER BAG TONIGHT AND SHE WELCOMED THE CONTACT AS THEY ALL SEEM TO DO AS THEY GET NEAR THEIR DUE DATE. THIS MAY NOT BE TYPICAL BEHAVIOR OF ALL PREGNANT MINIS, BUT MY SPOILED LITTLE LADIES SEEM TO LIKE IT A LOT. THEY EACH GET EXTRA ATTENTION DURING THE STALL TIME FROM DAY 300 UNTIL THEY DELIVER. LOTS OF TOUCHING, BRUSHING, AND OTHER CONTACT SO THEY WILL WELCOME OUR PRESENCE DURING THEIR FOALING.

Mandy has quite a bag and while she is due the 10th of Feb. I suspect she will go about ten days early.
Meanwhile, life here at Sawyer Creek is FRIGID! We are having a cold snap right now with temps well below normal for this time of year. Still, the barn stays relatively warm and sheltered. It's just those trips out to the manure pile that makes you want to bundle up like a mummy. The horses seem unaffected. They are fat, happy, and hairy. I've got the fat and happy part down but I'm lacking in the "Hairy." I'm working on my foaling kit today- getting organized and prepared. Hopefully, I'll have a bit of a break after Mandy but March is definitely going to be sleepless!
