[Barncam] Still going strong

Hi everyone, Jenny's temp is 97.7 today. Her temp has been around 99.9 since Monday. I won't be taking her temp anymore since this is a good 2 degree drop.
There is some speculation on going by a temp drop to predict when delivery may take place. I have read where some female dogs go by the text book while others ignore it all together. I am new to dogs whelping so bare with me, I just thought what the heck I'll give it a try.
IF the temp proves to be true with Jenny then she should start something within the next 24 hours.
I did notice late this morning that Jenny has
messed her bedding up some but she doesn't seem to really be nesting yet. If she starts digging and acting uncomfortable I will let you know.
From what I am reading and what others have told me is that when Jenny is close she will begin acting different. She may start digging in her box, moving blanket around, start shaking,panting and have some contractions. She may do this for awhile before anything happens. From what I understand she can do this for several hours or more. The contractions will get closer together when a pup is getting close to being born. She may wait anywhere from 5-50 min inbetween having pups, so this may take awhile.
I will post on the board when I am thru tending to each pup or I'll have someone else do the posting for me.
I will have the cam on Jenny and her pups for a couple of weeks so anyone that wants to can check on them from time to time.
As of right now I am not seeing anything to be axious about yet. Jenny is relaxed and sleeping often.
I'll keep you updated. I am praying that she does fine with her first litter.

she did dig around for a bit , went in circles, laid down and then did again, but so far yes pretty relaxed since then. She is moving around more then usual trying to get comfortable but that is it for now. Grooming a bit more here and there. I do figure it will take awhile before things begin to happen.
Watching for any changes and lots of digging.

ja ja ik ben nog laat op hè,dat komt omdat ik net 4 strokransen heb omwikkeld met coniferengroen en deze morgenavond ga voorzien van bloemen voor op de trouwkoets van mijn vriendin vrijdag (waarvan ik overigens de koetsier ben) het hele gebeuren gaat plaats vinden in westernstijl,de koets is dan ook een orginele houten huifkar.
bruid en gom gaan te paard naar het stadhuis en het is de bedoeling dat ik de ouders en kinderen van het bruidspaar vervoer,daarachter komt dan nog een huifkar met ooms en tantes en andere genodigden en het geheel word nog opgeleukt met een man of 4 te paard!
ik heb er zin in (behalve dan dat ik mijn speciaal door mijn schoonmoeder gemaakte rok aan moet,het is zo ongeveer een bungalowtent

Evening of day 333.........
Crystal is testing 4.5 almost a 5 on the milk test strips. I may test her again around 11pm to see what we have. Personally I think she will wait a day or 2 but she is getting closer thats for sure. I'll update again around 11pm.

11pm update....
I don't think tonight. Signs are pointing close but not immediate. Milk test went down to almost a 4 so I'm thinking she will wait on us. I'm waiting for wax or WHITE milk and we dont have either at this time.

Hello Everyone,
Tootsie and Franchesca are both past their due dates but neither of them seems ready yet. Tootsie's body has changed but her bag is not right yet. I don't know what is up with these girls, must be enjoying the attention and going to drag it out as long as possible.
Everyday we take carrots and apples to the Gypsy horses as treats. Karma (Joanie's filly) doesn't have teeth to eat anything like that. I decided to give her a little applesauce as a treat when the others were getting theirs. I just couldn't decide how to give it to her. I didn't want to have her eat it off my fingers because I felt that would encourage nipping later on. I finally decided to try giving it to her in a spoon...you should see her lick that out of the spoon...it was so funny. One of my grandsons came up about the time I was giving it to her and looked at me really funny and said "What in the world is that horse doing eating out of a spoon?" Hey, It worked and she loved it
The mini babies and their moms will be on cam #1 again tomorrow.
