update Hailey
OK I needed to start a thread on Hailey. She is really uncomfy, rolling, and belly kicking. She was also bought pasture bred to Rowdy. So I did not have an exact due date.
My vet has listed her as high risk because she is so tiny. So pray that she will have a smooth foaling. I called the vet today and he is on standby. She is not a maiden mare, so she should know what to do.
Thank you guys for watching her for me. As you all know I have torn my rotator cuff in my right shoulder, so this is going to be rough on me if I have to help pull the foal. But I will survive it!!! lmao

Update from Tracy...Hailey has lost her mucos plug, has no resistence in her tail, hoo hoo is elongated and red. She has a small bag but she hasn't been able to express any milk...she 's getting there

Thank you all for offering to help watch my girls. I am worried about Hailey due to her having been bred to Rowdy; he is a good bit bigger than she is. We can tell the foal is on the bigger side, and I will most likely have to help her when it is time. SO it is very important for me to be with her when her time comes.

ALL calls are welcome, even if it turns out to be nothing!! A dozen calls are better than no calls at all. Your call could be the one call that could save the lives of both mare and foal. So PLEASE don't be afraid to call me. Even at 3am I will be nice to ya lol.

banketstaaf high risk due 18 juni
We have another mare here at Ashwood in the maternity ward. banketstaaf is an 8 year old TB mare, standing about 16 hh. She is bred to our BWP stallion, Wish.

Our next mare due should be Saffie, who is due tomorrow, but she looks to be a bit farther away.

Today, we noticed banketstaaf has developed wax. Last year, she foaled 3 1/2 weeks early and had a case of placentitis. The baby was born with signs of prematurity, and he had a rocky road in the beginning, although he has turned out to be gorgeous. We thought we had warded off placentitis, but with this development and a subsequent vet check, we discovered she probably does have it again. Also, during the exam, the foal was discovered completely in position and way up next to the birht canal. It is vital we are there for the foaling, so everyone's extra eyes are much appreciated. Please never hesitate to call if you think you see her in labor.

Generally, she is a pretty quiet mare. Last year, labor onset quickly with the normal signs of agitation, pawing, looking at her sides and rolling. She has already begun to push her rear on the stall walls.

Her milk calcium was around 160, so I don't think it is tonight, but definitely impending.

Porcelain Doll is very close. Her bag is very full and she is definitely uncomfortable tonight. She was doing some belly kicking a little while ago so I feel that she is going to foal soon. Extra eyes would be appreciated!!!!!

Since I posted that she was so uncomfortable - she has been standing quietly and is now quietly eating.
I am going to try to get some sleep - so please call if she is acting odd or looks like she is going to get down to business. Last year she foaled in the middle of the night and when the beeper went off I flew out of bed - grabbing clothes as I was headed out the door - and when I got into the foaling barn the foal was already 1/2 out - so when she gets down to business she doesn't fool around.

Sabrina is a 5 year old black & white (with brindle points) Cardigan Welsh Corgi and is a half sister to the four pictured in my signature. This is her 2nd litter and an xray last night counted 4 puppies.
It has been 3 years since her last litter, which was of 4 and she whelped them in 3 hours.

Day 60 from her one and only breeding is Tuesday, May 27. This is the date my girls tend to whelp. And they tend to do so in the daytime. She whelped her first litter between 6pm and 9pm. I will have the cam on during the whelping, no matter what hour it is.

Sabrina has 5 breed points but is slightly smaller than the standard so I am unsure if I will finish her championship. She loves herding and agility so we plan to focus on more performance events when her maternal duties are complete.

Toos is volgens mij nog niet bevallen. De buitencam is nu in beeld

Erg leuk dat hondje op de cam. Had gister al zitten spieken.
Nu doet de cam het niet Verdrietig

gaat eens even kijken of er nog spannende merrie's zijn Nagelbijten / Gniffelen

Heb haar net even gezien . En het bleek tot nu toe goed met haar te gaan. Ze stond net in de paddock. Tikkie onrustig maar dat is logisch. Verder zag ze er redelijk ontspannen uit.
