HI everyone, Brownies baby died of septicemia. If that vet would have preformed the IgG test like we asked my filly would still be alive. I am very depressed as Brownie is too. This filly was our first foal ever. I am very mad at this vet. He isnt mad at all except when we told him what OSU said and another vet that couldn't make it out there. That the filly needed a flush and plasma infusion. The vet refused. He said OSU is nothing but youngeys and dont know what they are talking about. He said he has been a vet for many years. Had he done the test my baby would be alive today. The vet must not be to upset to give me a big bill. I just don't know how i am going to pay for this vet bill. He came out 3 times and the 4th time when i talked to him myself while at the barn he said its becoming a problem running back and forth you might just go ahead and take the filly to OSU. I don't know what else to do and i don't have the time. You talk about being very upset. I had to hand the phone to Laurietta and i went outside crying and hitting things cause i know i lost my filly. When i went back in they said lets get her up so we got her up and i was bent down talking to her tell her i love her and she reached out with that soft cold nose and kissed my cheek then fell to the ground. I will never forget that. Everytime i think of that i start to cry.I couldnt even go back to the barn for 24 hrs and Tammi and Laurietta sasid it was ok . I waited for my husband to come home before i went ot the barn. So we went out and Brownie was still screaming for her baby but when she say us she stopped after awhile and came and just loved on us. I told her it will be ok. She will have another in the future. She has a infection right now and she has to get infused 1 more time maybe 2. I want to thank everyone for there prayers and thoughts it means alot to me and my family.

Brownie had op 10 april haar veulen gekregen
erg triest als je leest hoe dit gegaan is

She is getting so big... can almost watch that bag fill up. LOL
We are having nice weather so she is outside with her sisters, till it starts raining.

Getting a little nervous, always do with Sandy. Those big babys she has, I just got to remember to eat my Wheaties and have strength when it comes to pulling that baby. Last year I had pneumonia and no strength and we almost lost the foal. Kept going back in. Very scarry.

We have Sandy in the stall, she isn't due till the 22nd but her bag is filling up fast and her but is getting spongy.

Not sure if you remember Sandy from last year, but she needed lots of help, she has big babys. She has had two foal and needed help with both foalings. She is the reason we joined Marestare. Sandy is very special to us and I don't know what I would do if I lost her. Two years ago, i was watching her on a little cam that was connected to yahoo IM. I fell asleep and if it wasn't for Jennifer from Kentucky, I think we would have lost Sandy and her filly. Sandy was totally exhausted and her filly was stuck. With a lot of pulling and praying we got the filly out and both recovered nicely.

So if you have a little extra time and could check in on her, it would be greatly appreciated

Brrr, als die merrie zo speciaal voor me was liet ik haar echt niet meer dekken.

Hoop dat alles goed gaat en het niet weer zo'n drama gaat worden voor die merrie.

Wat een zielig verhaal over brownies veulen, die DA kon naar zijn centen fluiten bij mij hoor, zij is haar veulen kwijt door zijn nalatigheid!

Hi Everyone,

Jordan surprised me this afternoon. We she and Joanie came in from the pasture I noticed that her bag was much more visible from the rear. I checked her and could tell that it had increased allot during the day today. I tested her with the milk strips and she is testing 4.5. I don't know if she will continue to change rapidly or if she will stay like this for a few days. I have put a foaling monitor on her and I'll be checking her closely. If you see her in labor or see something that we should be aware of, please give us a call.

Hi Everyone!

B My Valentine or Valentine as we call her here at the farm is 329 days in foal today. She is 6 years old and this is her second pregnancy. Last year she gave us a beautiful filly @ 325 days by my stallion Donatello KA and she is once again in foal to him.

Last year she gave no outward signs of impending foaling, had no wax or even much of an udder before i went to bed that night and by the next morning at 9am she foaled her pretty little filly out in the pasture! Thank goodness i saw the legs before a full delivery and got her into a small paddock where she foaled peacefully on a beautiful spring Sunday morning. She did get an udder overnight and had filled her udder and waxed somewhere between 7pm and 9am but i don't know if her second pregnancy will be different. So far as of today she has hardly any udder but has relaxed over the croup and vulva and the baby has dropped...... so who knows what this girl will do!

Please help me watch her and call me if you see her foaling and no one in the stall! I'm keeping a close eye on her and she is wearing a foal alert transmitter but i do like to be out long before the alarm is set off.
