UPDATE SWEET PEA @ BND RANCH As she has been getting closer she isn't laying down as much or as often. Poor girl is just miserable!!!! Her teats themselves are bigger today then before and her tail head is much looser. Still no "real" wax to speak of. Yesterday while she was out with the boys she did seperate herself more so then before. Also she is a mare that doesn't really like to be in per say (especially if she is locked in her stall) but when I got her out of pasture she nickered at me and came to the gate. She again nickered at me this morning when I went to feed. She seems a little calmer in the barn with my other mare next to her (they can't really see each other unless Pea puts her head over her cradle gate). Needless to say I don't think she is going to go today but you never know. I have to be gone today and I will be gone until almost 4 my time (PST). IF she looks like she is going into labor please call. If you don't get ahold of somebody on the home phone call my cell, however where we live we don't always get cell reception. As a last resort I want someone to call my neighbor (will post all numbers below). She is a dear friend who has bred and shown nearly her entire life, she has also been a vet tech for the past 30 years (she knows her stuff!). Again thank you and you all have a great day. Hopefully we can get this baby on the ground because we are supposed to get into the single digits again here really soon! Brittany Phone numbers, Home (208)255-1769 Cell (208)597-1805 Anne Marie (208)610-8318 Make sure you explain to her that you were watching Sweet Pea online and she is in labor and you can't get ahold of me or Dan. http://www.marestare.com/bndranch.htm
UPDATE MISSY & MIDNIGHT@ STARLIGHT RANCH VAN GISTER AVOND Girls continue to be restless. Midnight is dripping milk and Missy about the same. I'm hoping to see more activity like what has been happening most of today. At least we can hope!!! I will update later when I do the night checks if they look like they have made more visable changes. http://www.marestare.com/starlight.htm
UPDATE SPLASH @ ROCKIN B Oh wow! Thank you everyone! She is getting close!! Her bag is filling and she has dropped quite a bit. Her due date is 2/4 She is bred to Doc Freckles who is a Palomino Overo OLWS neg - we are hoping for a paint bucky filly **fingers crossed** http://www.marestare.com/rockinb.htm
Dit staat er nog over Belle op Marestare mom is great she cleaned and is restin in a nice grassy paddock in the sun with her new big baby..everything is great.. we had to strip and sanitize the stall ,so that is why they are out in the paddock gettin some fresh air and soakin up the warmth of the sun...it is 53 degrees at the moment so a beautiful day,,,,,they will be back in shortly so you will be able to see them...
Update Belle+veulen
no he is a perfect color .he is what they call flashy andin the showring thats what you want for halter or cart or riding.he has great bone and beautiful markings.he has nice thick hair on the feather..the thing is when people see clydes they think of the budweiser hitch all bay with four whites.but that is only the anheuser guideline.in the show ring you want something that stands out but most of all you want the quality of the horses genetics to stand out and the best horse that represents the breed...high hocks ,heads up,long neck, great bone, big feet and lotsa action when it comes to color it's really up to each individuals preference.judges are pretty much color blind.the halter show ring is incredibly fair and never political...not got a name yet. legacy is our prefix so that will be first part. i can not get over the size of him...
Starlight Morning Update!!! Posted on 1/31/2007 at 04:36:03 AM by Starlight Ranch
For those of you wondering here is the history on Missy and Midnight it can also be found on there pregnancy page.
Missy is currently at 351 days, she foaled her first filly in 2006 at 356 days.
Midnight is currently at 338 days, she has foaled any where between 328 and 346 days with her fillies and 251 with her one colt.
Midnight has large globs of wax that build and drop off, her milk consistancy is sticky and has been the past two nights. I'm surprised she is still holding on but we do know it's a large foal so could be having a time getting lined up.
Missy bag is very shinny but no wax as of yet showing. She is very uncomfortable but so far has not irritated the area she cut on Saturday.
They better get rolling because Lisa Lou probably won't be far behind. Her bag is very large teat's are not yet filled out. She is very uncomfortable and reacts to everything going on in her belly. She is not due until the end of February but she is a maiden mare so could surprise us.
We have Tom's dad on call incase Midnight Posted on 1/31/2007 at 06:57:10 AM by Starlight Ranch
decides to foal during the day which she has never done. But there is always a first time. Both Tom and I are farther out but if she looks like she is going to go he will be there first. It Midnight doesn't go tonight I'm going to call the vet to check her. All signs are there including her being extremely agitated.
Today she does look like the foal as really dropped so maybe it is in the birth canal so we can finally see the new addition.
