Marty @ Valley Oaks Quarter Horses - Due 2/17
http://www.marestare.com/valleyoaks.php
Okay everyone, Marty is waxed this morning and looks like if she sneezed a baby could fall out
Keep your eyes on Marty tonight, I think we may have a foal before the sun comes up on tommorrow! Prayers please for an uneventful foaling. Feel free to call me if you see anything out of the ordinary! She is under 24 hour surveillance.
Dutchess @ Rocky Bottom Ranch - Maiden Mare due 2/21
http://www.marestare.com/rockybottom.php
Good Morning everyone! Hubby and I are both at work today (only 15 minutes away though), our daughter Brittany is the one who loves to wave at everyone, it's her way of saying thanks for keeping an eye on Dutchess. She's off to school now, but did report that Dutchess seems to be acting "normal", is eating good, & her udder doesn't look any different. Looks like Dutchess & Vicki both made it through the night with no baby surprises. Dutchess is soooo huge, I can't image she can hold out too much longer.
Missy @ Starlight Ranch - OVER DUE, she has white milk!!!!!
http://www.marestare.com/starlight.php
We have change!!! Missy has white milk and a sticky consistency to it, but no wax. She is relaxed in back and more elongated. Her poop has been softer at times during the night.
Tom is at work today as I am this morning, plan to get some work lined out and work from home today just to be safe.
How long Missy will stay this way without going have no idea, she likes to be sneaky!! We are hoping she will wait until this evening when Tom will be home to help.
Quincy @ WOODSTOCK PAINT HORSES ~ EXTREME CAMS up and running! ~ Foal due soon! www.marestare.com/woodstock.php
Hi everyone,
As some of you may have seen last night, Quincy was doing some strange things. At one point, I glanced at my local cam/monitor and could see Quincy (doing what I thought was) lying down. But then I realized that only her front end/neck/head were on the ground, but she was still STANDING with her hind end! LOL! I watched and watched and blinked and blinked...thinking I was SEEING things. But sure enough...she was kneeling down in the front...and standing in the back-end and was motionless. Then all of a sudden she JUMPED back to her feet. I watched her for awhile and she kept doing this same thing (in varying degrees)...then she got over it and quit and was normal the rest of the night.
My deduction on this: Considering this particular strange behavior (which I'm guessing was her unique reaction to pain) and the fact that she was sweating last night, the baby is moving. I bet that little stinker did reposition or was attempting to position itself for departure. Now...What does this all mean?? Will she foal today/tonight?? Don't know. LOL! I've had them go through this process and move right onto the next step in a short time...and I've also seen it take weeks to progress to the next step.
So...what I can guarantee, as always, is that she WILL FOAL at some point. I just don't know when. So, until then...I'll be "Mare Staring"!
Thanks for "Mare Staring" with me!
There is a memorial service in Garfield today where they are flying over our place with four plain and shooting off a gun salute behind the house. So if you see her get very active it is more than likely that. We planned to change so we could watch all the horses but with Missy closer decided to keep on the single cam. Everyone is locked in good and safe so they should be fine.
Have a great day everyone!!!
Isis 3/30 & Macy 3/16 @ Dream Team Minis
Dynamic & Amy: http://www.marestare.com/welsh.php
Isis: http://www.marestare.com/welshtwo.php
Macy: http://www.marestare.com/welshthree.php
Dynamic and Amy are doing GREAT!
Amy is full of herself and likes to play with people and her mom.
Almost time for a new friend to play with
Isis is at day 281 and already bagging up FAST!
So almost time to start watching her a bit closer in the evening.
I'm thinking 3 to 4 weeks, which will set her around 300-310 days.
Macy at 309 days is starting to bag up a bit. Not much but at least she started...
Watch her to go for the 340 days or more and no wax this year
Her belly really dropped and she is getting that uncomfortable look in the evening.
Barbie @ Sunset Sands Quarter Horse - Due 2/23
http://www.marestare.com/sunset.php
Looks like we're edging a little closer; her milk is turning color, getting closer to white now. My best guess is still Wednesday though. This baby is VERY active. S/he put her through a real kick fest at dinnertime tonight, Barbie was kicking & flicking her tail for a long while. She's very loose & relaxed behind, but I think she's going to hold out for a while yet. We're keeping our eye's peeled just in case though!
