Miss Angel has been getting increasingly uncomfortable, and this morning it appears that the milk is starting to drop into the nipples. Angel is "due" in about a week, but COULD go anytime. My personal opinion would be another week, maybe two... I've also updated the first post to include some of her normal behaviors.

Hello Everyone,
My cam is back online! Streak is not due till March 5th. Unfortunately, she is NOT following the rules! She started bagging up 10 days ago and was waxed for 7 or 8 days. Now she is dripping white milk. (for 2 days) She is on antibiotics and Regumate. Hopefully she will hold out. If possible I would GREATLY appreciate some "extra eyes" to help watch her.(especially at night). I really need to be there if she delivers early. There will probably be some time during the day that the cam is not on. Thanks in advance

I also have Neely due February 2nd. She is bagging up and usually foals early. I have another camera that should be here Monday. I hope to have her online soon too.

Nog meer updates:

Mocha:

My local vet came out yesterday to do some routine stuff to the other minis. I asked him if he could try to take a small feel at Mochas backside to see if he could tell anything about the baby. Since Mocha stood quietly and didn't put up a fight....he agreed. I don't like doing this to pregnant mares because I like to leave them alone and let them do things their way, lol. Since Mocha is taking her time...I wanted an idea of what was going on. Anyway, the baby is definately in there. He has not checked very many miniatures or ponies so I am not sure I found out anything except that there is definately a baby in there. He said he was sure he felt the babies forehead and it was about as big as your fist. He said he thought by the size of the head that she had a few more months to go. After he left, I was thinking......a baby minis forehead isn't much bigger than your fist. Maybe he was thinking about a big horse. So, I guess I know there is a baby in there but have no idea how long it will be.
I didn't learn anything new, LOL because I already knew there was a baby in there Lachen

I appreciate everyone that continues to watch her. I plan to leave her on camera at night because I don't have anyone else due yet anyway.
If she shows any new signs of foaling, I will be sure to update Lachen

Kasmir

Thank you for opening a thread on Kashmir...! She's on cam and will be the first out of 9 mares that has to foal this year..
She is imported out of the USA in September and is carrying a foal from Libertymeres Velvet Buckeroo, a black pinto stallion that has done very well on the shows and who has won multiple world champion titles...
We don't know much about Kashmir's foaling history, this will be her 4th foal....

We'll keep you posted on this thread as well as on our own messageboard..

Streak

Streak has been the same tonight, some tail raising and swishing, some hind leg raising, I did observe her looking at her sides for about 30 seconds but she left you a present of manure afterwards, I also noticed that earlier when urinating she pawed afterwards, she's currently eating and I'm going to sleap.

Gigi

Gigi has a small bag.. remember I do update a bit more on my board and post pictures & link for bag pictures. I am thinking the 15th - 22nd for her. http://stroquat.proboards18.com/index.cgi (you do not need to register to visit us there... please stop by if you get the chance) I have last foaling up too so you can compare.

My updates are in Morning sipping coffee, Supper & lights out. I do update special if need be.

Been working a lot of hours and just whooping my butt doing over 50 hours a week since Thanksgiving. Hoping it lets up.. or I will be too tired to stay awake for foal watch

A little bit on Gigi... she does not give us a lot of warning. She does not normally wax and you will notice her a tad more antsy. When she steams we are close. Gigi is a tad low pain tolerant and does need banamine after foaling and she Does roll. So we try to take extra caution in there with her and make sure the baby is safe. Also it is cold here, so we need to make sure we get the baby dry.

With my hours and her lack of warning I could be at work and Bruce could be working also. I would appreciate the watches and help watching her. I will give a few my work number, as I am 15 - 20 mins from home while at work. (depending on how low I can fly home and the roads) If someone else would like it also... pm me.

Thanks for being with us this year. Gigi is the only mare we have to foal this year. With my hours at work.. this is a good thing. Outside mares to foal out.. none as of yet. Only emergency type of mares will be what I take in.

Midnight

Evening Update!!!

Midnight bag is still filling, but she has been very uncomfortable today. So will be putting her on a single cam at night until she foals. Feel we still have a week or more unless she starts to make lots of changes fast.

Happy watching she will probably sleep most of the night!!!

Missy will be moved next door around the 19th.

Luna,Aurora,Lésprit. (Geiten)

Yes, I think Swaas is right. On the one hand, Aurora seems uncomfortable, and has had colostrum in her udder for some time. However, her udder is not tight, and that is usually the case before they kid. She also is very vocal about everything. She cries and whines, and I would think that when she is in labor, the whole world will know. Luna is not that vocal of a goat, and we did hear her baa some when the labor pains came, even before pushing. So I expect that at that same point, Aurora will be screaming. I checked her udder today, and she tucked her bum way down, like, she was thinking, "I saw what happened to Luna!! Don't do that to me!!"

I needed to check Luna's udder, as it seemed larger on one side. I did milk that side of her udder out. She didn't want to leave. When she was on the milk stand, Aurora busted out of the pen and ran around the barn. I picked up my shepherd's crook, and she was like, "OOOH, I didn't KNOW you wanted me in the PEN!" and ran right back in. Yeah, funny how we have these little "come to Jesus" meetings... Aurora got some religion.

Tomorrow would be a fine day to have kids! I am not busy. However, I will be gone most of the day on Sunday. I'm sure she'll choose that day to kid...

Kita has very ploppy poo... I wouldn't mind a breather though... After the excitement in the next stall, maybe a little "down time" would be good...

Update over Angel:

Ze heeft zich vannacht(?) vastgerold.

Well, it might be from the stress of getting cast last night, but Angel has softer poop this morning and her vulva looks more relaxed than I've seen before. Also, her bag is quite full. Although it doesn't look quite ready to me, it is more full than Shiraz's was last year when she went into labor with Sailor, so this might well be all the warning that we get with her.

Nieuwe update over Midnight,
Good Morning everyone!!!!

Snow Storm at Starlight Ranch this morning!!! We normally like this but know it is piling up on top of a sheet of ice. Already landed on my back this morning once.

Yes Midnight was uncomfortable last night be her back and back end is telling me not ready. Midnight system really prepares well and she loosens up so much in back that she will look like jello. Plus another sign to watch for is her flanks looking fuller. She far baby is still very much sitting low in her belly, but as it moves up into position her flanks start to look extremely wide.

She has shown the first signs of the tub wax last night when I did a night check. But this is not the sticky wax we will be watching for when foaling is very close. But is a sign she continues to progress and making her body ready for the big event.

That is one thing we have always loved about this mare, she is pretty darn consistant and takes her time preparing her body which really makes it easier on her during foaling. Midnight is an awesome mom so yep she is already telling that foal to knock it off!!!

The snow is coming down so fast this morning that Tom has already cleared our back entry twice in the past 45 minutes. Since we are home today we will put the mares out later to day to play in the pasture. Just hoping they watch it because it'd darn slick under all that new fluffy snow.
