Well, I turned PG and Lacey out of the maternity ward today. Just to let them have a little more room to run, maybe Lacey will run off part of her built up energy and be willing to go in her stall tonight.

Morning day 328......some wax!

We have some waxing going on. I checked her this morning when I cleaned and fed and I noticed just a itty bitty bit of clear wax barely coming out her teat on one side so I expressed some fluid from the other side and it was clear and sticky. I went back out an hour later cuz I forgot to let her outside and noticed that itty bitty wax is getting bigger and is what you see in the pic. The other side that I expressed earlier had leaked some milk onto her leg since so we got some pressure building. Will she foal tonight? I hope so. No promises but she could come on fast and foal and not be a day or two waxer. Thing that has me stumped is her tail is no longer loose like it was. That sucker is clamped down and hard to move so I know she isn't real close to foaling....or is she? I have to do some running around today so I will lock her in so you guys keep an eye on her for me please. If she starts pawing or you see legs coming out call my cell phone 989-370-1767

Evening day 328....
This update is a little late in coming. I just got back from visiting the trailriders and all my friends on the cross state ride (sorry for the jammies on nights check...lol).
Miss Anita is still waxed. Her other side now has decent wax out of both teat holes and the other side at this time has no wax but I can tell it is coming and going. She is somehwat warm to touch and her vulva is very red BUT her tail is NOT loose and she tries to clamp it down when I pick it up. This is new in the past day. It was usually easily picked up with little resistance but now there is a lot of resistance. That is not a normal indicator of imminent foaling but could be her way or coping....who knows. At best......she is waxed, but its the clear wax. I don't think it will be tonight but I will be on my toes. I will still plan on riding tomorrow .......unless she is dripping then I might stay home. I may just post another udder pic in the morning if she is waxing good. I also have to make a carrot cake in the morning for a fellow trailriders birthday to take with me tomorrow. MMMMM...MMMMMM.

Just to let you know for the weekend, Laura Jo is still fat & happy! She may be making a very slight change in her udder but nothing to brag about - just filling a few wrinkles maybe, haha - I will keep you posted - she wasn't happy with me today when I didn't let her out to graze!! But it is for her benefit in the long run - she is just such a easy keeper and absorbs all she eats - goes to her waistline - as you can see is already streeeeeeeeached to the limit now.
