Wendy @ Dusty Rose Miniature horses Thank you for watching, well i thought maybe Wendy was going to do something tonight but she is just laying in her corner right now,she has been a little agitated so we will see i am going to be in my chair and try for a nap but if you see anything please call even if it isn't that big we will always accept calls no matter the time. As ever Dian
Wendy is going out for a run around the paddock..someone is with her so no need to worry! Dian reports very red vulva..
Abby @ Whistle Ville Farms wax both sides, stomping. put down straw-I have to go to work. vet will be here @ 11. No one here 1-430. Thanks!! In early stages I think just getting ready for the big show but not until later tonight 3a-4a is her chosen time. Thanks for watching!!
Jewels @ Pacific Pinto's Jewels remains much more uncomfortable since last night. Her butt is pointed now and she has been swishing her tail all day. She started calling when she was outside, and once in her stall this continued until I brought her next door neighbor "Susie" in to her stall. Fingers crossed for an easy birth.... Jewels is 313 days today, and has thick colostrum. We will just be watching her. She has a halter alarm on.
Catty @ Redtail Ranch She is full at the udders but no wax. Slight elongation of the vulva and increased ventral edema. Otherwise her exam is about the same. I need some sleep. I have to be at work early tomorrow. She will be confined to her pen and not turned out to pasture during the day tomorrow.
We have been leaving her stall door open at night because she seems to prefer the waterer that is in her pen. Why she isn't progressing further is a mystery. .The vet insists that she is ok and that she is within the normal range of gestation. I think she is trying to teach me patience. She has been very affectionate in the last few days. She is usually more standoffish. The udder edema has not increased, but her milk veins are much more prominent.
Spring @ Elements Arabians Well, after Spring's last nap this morning, she has a lot of dried milk on the inside of her one back leg. She is apparently leaking when she is down...
Percy and baby are still in the foaling stall, therefore they are still on cam.
Puffer is 325 today and going strong. She is working hard on her bag, pooping small mushy poops, and peeing a lot, poor girl. I also notice that she is starting to really "puff up" (haha) Being a maiden it isn't uncommon not to show a lot until the last 30 days, Miss Puffer is no different.
And that brings us to maiden mare, Envy.... While grooming Miss Envy today, I noticed she is already developing a bag, and she is only 276 days in foal. She is not showing signs of discharge and she was in all day today due to the weather. However, I also noticed her rear muscles are very relaxed. Envy did get a fairly bad case of the flu when she was 30 days in foal, but when we checked her in October she was still in foal, and felt that if harm had been done she would have lost it already. I am calling the vet first thing in the morning. In the mean time I want to watch my girl, my heart is just aching and I am she won't lose this foal. Envy was bred 6/6/11, and she is due 5/6/12 (335 date). She would be 320 on April 21 or so, so I'm hoping the vet says she's just bagging up a few weeks early and it might just be normal for her, OR we have caught it in time and will be able to treat her. This big bay mare is just so sweet, and to add to it, this foal is nominated to a major futurity, the All American Cup. I will try to get some pics of my sweet Envy girl tomorrow.
Thanks for watching, it helps more than words can say.
Annie @ Willowvale Farm Well, Annie was plenty sprightly on our walk, no doubt as a result of all the sleep she's gotten! And it looks like the wax was definitely a con to induce me to lay out straw, as it has fallen off and not been replaced. I just gave her a talking to -full moon! Solar storm! Plus, it's warm out. There couldn't be a better night to foal. But it doesn't look promising.
Leagro (Lexi) @ Glenhill Farm Lexi had a spa day. She had sticky milk all over her back legs ad spent a lot of time rolling while she was turned out. She has drippy wax now. Cam 1 is working for now. Of course that means nothing since it will most likely drop very soon.
Penny @ Kingston Park Miniatures Penny is acting funny this morning, she is really relaxed and soft behind n a little pinker then normal... her edema is a little bigger, though nothing much besides a little extra fullness in the teats happening. She was licking the ground and the wood everything she could this morning as well... similar to what Suzie did the last few weeks before Having Finn, I put Penny's mineral block out there but she didn't want it and went back to licking the ground... hmmm. I'm going to set up the outdoor camera so I can keep an eye on her... she is walking really slowly today too. just doesn't seem herself to me. Encore @ Emerald Acres So just checked on Cory... we are super close (as in maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow)... Baby is in position, vulva is wide open/lax, milk is pure white and sticky etc. The only thing that keeps me from saying tonight is 1) udder is not quite ready and 2) chemetrics only reads a 70 (and this am it was barely registering)... That being said, I think she is in the beginning stages of labor and I think that she is going to progress quickly.
I'm going to nap for an hour or so, then will physically check on her again one more time tonight and see if she is changing at all, if so I'll put down the hay (straw).
Other key notes - she is sweaty (and it is warmer but not sweaty warm) and is picking at her food.... all of it (hay, grain, alfafa cubes).
If anyone sees her go down before midnight when I check on her please call me at 850-814-0027, and I'll update after my visual check on her.
1 am update. Full udder, no wax. She's not sweating anymore. I'm guessing Friday day or pm not that I'm not going to be keeping one eye on her tonight.
Kitkat @ Lil Pondarosa Minis Just thought I would share a few photos from today. Also according to the foaltime strips she is testing a 6.8 . I have been told she is a sneaky mare and foaled last year with a bag about like this so we will be watching her close. Her milk is thick and sticky but teets are not as full as I would like to see. Now I know that can change in a moments time. Also its looking like we could get a few storms today along with the full moon so anyones guess is possible with this girl. I have changed the thread title to just her since the other two are not near her and are in and out at their own leasure for the moment. Off to bed I go with two phones tucked under my pillow..... All extra eyes are appreciated... Thank you all for your help watching my girls who mean so much to me!
Chanel @ Mulligans Run Farm I really agree with you. Chanel looks like she is going to give birth soon. She has been up and down all night and has barely slept at all. I've been watching her since about 1 am this morning. I actually have 4 cams up and trying to keep an eye on everybody that I can. Chanel has kept my interest though, since she has now shown that she is breathing heavy and cannot get comfortable. I have seen the baby kicking alot, too.
