Die lag normaal gesproken de hele dag te slapen, nu zit ze rechtop en wisselt ze de hele tijd van houding.

dit vond ik net over ella:
foal is rump first but seems to be rotating from upside down to sideways, but staying rump first at this time.

Hey All!
Man Katie is going to make us all crazy. I was up every hour checking on her and taking her temp (as the temp drop has never been wrong before for me). She was tearing up papers and still dripping milk (this is why you see her licking herself). She is definately more uncomfortable, but they USUALLY get really uncomfortable as it gets closer. With each contraction they are usually digging and panting and pacing.
She hopped out so I could take her temp and its down again. So I'll keep taking it and see if it goes down some more but it was 98.8 at 7 am this morning. So once again I say that if it keeps going down she should be getting busy today. But who knows, with Katie! I'll hit the high alert once she's having contractions and stuff, I feel bad for the false alarms, but am glad that you guys aren't upset. I've watched enough horses that I know there is false alarms and some make you wait FOREVER! But it still makes me feel like I don't know what I'm talking about and I usually do!
I do think she is showing alot more outside signs, the milk dripping, licking herself more, tearing up papers with her teeth, ect. She was even panting and pacing a little at one of my checks. I agree with everyone else, COME ON KATIE, WE WANT TO SEE YOUR PUPS!!!!!

Rain deed net een lekkere rolsessie. Ze is wel actief nu, mss eten dat er aan komt of dat ze naar buiten mag? Of zou ze toch eindelijk plannen hebben

Ella staat op de special request, al gezien iedereen?

Update for Ella 1/30/9

352 days today...and counting. Tonight's update contains some possibly frightening information. You may have noticed that Ella was being "worked on" for quite a while earlier this evening. We had a few concerns about her based upon 1) her seeming to begin and stop Stage 1 and 2 labor over the last 7 days, 2) the fact that her milk tested ready (PH and Calcium) several days ago without going into labor, and 3) the shape of her abdomen. You can likely tell even with the cam angles from above that her abdomen has not dropped or shaped like other mares who are nearing foaling. We've begun to worry that these signs may point to an improperly positioned foal.

We asked the vet to visit Ella and take a look. After a few rectal palpations, some handwalking to try to reposition the foal, a speculum exam to view her cervix- the tentative diagnosis is that Ella's foal MAY be breech at this time.

So, moving forward, Ella will spend a large amount of time pacing the fence tomorrow as this is our best chance to help her turn this foal. Due to the weather emergency here (in Kentucky) she's been inside since Tuesday and we've worried she would fall on the ice but this is a necessity to try to save foal and possibly mare if we do have a breech position.

Because of this news, we are asking that Ella be placed on a special watch until she foals. It will be highly important that we be present to examine the position of the foal when her water breaks. If anyone sees something that appears to be her water breaking, PLEASE do not hesitate to call. Also, based upon the fragile nature of this delivery- we may turn the cams off during.

You guys have worked wonders for Tess and Chance with your prayers- please think of Ella tonight...and wish us all luck here that we can head off a potentially bad situation.

Jeetje, wat ik eruit begrijp is dus dat het veulen verkeerd ligt? maar ella zou dus al binnen staan sinds dinsdag? waar is ze nu dan?
