I wanted to let everyone know that Maya will be on camera starting this afternoon. We have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Shirley's foal (on camera now) but it has yet to come. Maya waxed this morning and the history I have on her says she should foal tonight. I will be putting her on camera when I get home around Noon time today unless our other mare does something exciting in the meantime. There is someone home at the farm at all times, so if she goes early today they will switch her early.

Have you noticed the pattern....they are becoming wall huggers...right up against that front wall. I wake up and have to play "where's Waldo" with the horses.

I dont have any real updates on Shirley, still looks ready but apparently isnt. I just wanted to let everyone know that once again she looks like she will be bumped off camera. I have another mare (Maya) that waxed heavy this morning so she will be on camera when I come home from work around noon time today, unless Shirley does something exciting.

Thank you all for hanging in there with Shirley, she is 350 days today...she must be baking something special.

I just got a call from back home at the farm...Shirley is waxed, looks more uncomfortable than usual. Hope she will foal today or tonight, she is so large I feel bad for her.

Please bare with us today as we have 2 mares ready to foal...I will put whoever is closer on camera, but the other will be back after we safely foal whoever goes first.

You and me too! Not sure what she's waiting on . Although technically she isn't due till the 1st so she does have time yet.
I called the vet as I've never had one have a temp drop and then not whelp. He said to check her with the dopler and if all sounded well and she wasn't acting in distress that I just need to be patient. Easy for him to say!!!
I'll keep you guys posted and hit the alarms again as soon as she really starts moving. I'm only going to cry wolf once!
Thanks for the phone call last night to about her not moving much. She really needed to go out so I appreciate it.

Serenity update for 1/27/9...
Serenity's udder has doubled in size since yesterday evening. I think her teats will need to fill more but "she is a maiden" so that means she has not had the opportunity to read the book yet.

She did take some long naps (and even snored) at unusual times for her today.

So, you know the routine? If you see anything unusual, please don't hesitate to call the numbers listed on the cam page!
