Thanks Lady, I went out to check on her...she seems physically the same but I have been noticing a slight change in her attitude the past couple of days...normally she is very attentive and affectionate...She still is affectionate but its more a "okay yes i love you...yes yes yes i will tolerate you for a minute...okay can you get out now!"...lol...she only enjoys the company for a minute and she is done...which probably just means she is getting closer...more uncomfortable and a little irratable. This probably is accounting for the pawing and rolling also! Let's hope. Other than that, again, no physical changes at all. Now all my guys are shedding but she is just uncontrollably shedding too and she does seem to have a bit of the itchies...i just caught a butt scratch on camera...LOL

I have called the vet early this morning and am waiting on a call back to see if she will make it out today...i will post when I know something!

Good Evening everyone,
Striker and her colt are doing very good, the colt passed his IgG test. The vet will be out here tomorrow to do an Ultrasound on one of our mares and he will probably get a well baby check up.

All the other mares are progressing but very slowly but they are progressing.

Pearl got the boot tonight and yes, Steph, we have a new mare on cam...Her name is Silhouette but the sign was to small to fit her whole name and we do sometimes call her Silly.
She is 290 days today, but the previous owner told is to watch her around 300 days. I had forgetten about that until I saw her walking away from me in the field today and she had a bag. She has a very large bag and loose poop...so she is in the spotlight now.

Classy (2/25) and Scarlet (3/6) @ BROOKHAVEN
Classy was progressing pretty rapidly and now she has just stopped. At least she's not re-gressing! But, that's fine - the longer she waits - the closer to spring and MAYBE warmer weather. I had the girls out this morning but when the winds picked up they started flying around in the mud and the snow and the ice, so everyone is tucked inside tonight. I'm playing with the mobile cam and was trying to focus on Scarlet's pouting corner since it is under the "time" on the cam and she can't be seen. Don't know if this is the right spot for the cam, but just bear with me til I figure it out! I did find that the cable will reach all the way down the barn aisle to Classy's stall - so still hoping to get some good foal face shots!

Lovely @ Belcher Quarter Horses due 2/7
Lovely's bag is much bigger tonight. I went ahead and shaved it all up because I didn't know how she would be as she gets closer and the area gets more sensitive. She was an angel of course!
It reminds me of why I like her so much. She's just so easy to get along with.
I'm going to take some pics of her bag and post them soon. Her belly is also looking as though it's dropping some.

Nelly@ Belcher Quarter Horses due 2/20
Oh, Oh, Nelly is very grumpy tonight. She also has some weird swollen lumps on her lower sides just below the flank area. It's really gross and looks very painful. Her front left leg is also swelled up today. She still has not laid down or rolled for 5 days. I would assume her legs are very tired. I did see her attempt to lie down on 2/6, but she never went down. So I'm guessing she's so sore that she doesn't even want to try. Poor girl. I know her legs must feel horrible.
She is very loosey goosey in her vulva and her rear muscles.

This is a picture of her bag tonight. It really doesn't look like it does in person. She's holding most of her milk up front in her milk glands.

Our mare Destin Tobe Fantastic..aka Baby due Feb 14, Valentines Day...info..
I was right!!! WE HAVE WAX!!!! Just checked her and she's got alot of wax, so we are going to have a baby today or by tomorrow, if she goes as planned.. I don't think we will make Valentine's Day...but who knows with mares.. She has foaled her last 2 during the day, and of course, no one will be home today til about 12:30 idaho time ( mountain ) so any eyes to help me watch from work, would be so great. I can be here in about 15 minutes, but that won't be any help, I've never helped deliver one, just filmed and take pics..LOL..Husband, will be close at time to home, so if I see she's acting weird, he'll drop everything and come runnin... Here's to an uneventful delivery and come on SPOTS!!!

Fishy 2-8 @ Comfert Shetlands ~~ Addi **FILLY 2/6**
Hi All! I have been really busy here so not much time to post and stuff. I thought Fishy's stall looked a bit tore up this am...I was wondering what she was up to last night, but now I see she was pacing, pawing, head slinging. I am HOPEFUL that is just because she has been locked up for a few days...she does not have near enough udder to foal just yet.

we got more snow, not as much as they had originally called for thank goodness! But it was COOOOLD last night, It was still just 12 this am. I was just out there again, it is now 23 or so, some wind, but the ground is still frozen, so I took the opportunity to get superfilly and Addi out for a few minutes. I so wanted to take her blankets off (she has the little funny fleece one she has been wearing and now also a blanket on top since it was to get so cold last night). I want to see her w/out them, but it was too cold and windy to take them off for picture taking! YES, PICTURES!!!! I didnt want to get her chilled, so will wait for another day. the sun is FINALLY out for the first time in many days!!! But, kinda glad it was cold because without the ground being frozen, it is BAD, BAD MUD! That is why they havent been out at all. I have been really wanting to get them out!

Fish is out for a bit, she had tore the stall up and maybe it is just because she needed some outside time to move around.

When the camera warms up naturally, I will take the pics off and post them. I dont know how many decent ones there were. When I moved them outside, the WHOLE BARN AREA freaked out. Some were rearing in the stalls and bouncing and going crazy because the filly didnt want to leave the stall and was whinnying for Addi! Too cute, but the others FREAKED!
Wyatt was EXTREMELY excited, he knows that mares with young foals come in heat soon Ha, little does he know, Addi will not be his girl friend...too closely related for me (he is her half uncle)!

OH, and I do love the names. Guns N Roses is sticking, my only "fight" with myself is IF she decides to grey. It would be PERFECT if she stays red! I have never had a "Rose" for a barn name, so would be good. I still havent made my decision though. Thank you all for the suggestions!

maar het zou zomaar kunnen dat ze zo begint. sinds gisteren heeft ze al flinke hars (als ik het goed heb). zo te zien zijn de banden ook heel slap, en de buik zit ver naar achter

Sorry bout that! The connection from my monitor to the computer is very sensitive and can come loose way too easy. I have to remember to check on the computer instead of looking at my monitor!

As for the girls. Status quo. I guess Classy has decided to wait for her due date. Scarlet has still yet to get any kind of bag. I think I found a view for the mobile cam to keep Scarlet from hiding. Symphony's baby was doing olympic caliber gymnastics in her belly today!

All the mares are blowing their winter coat and so I can't tell if they are just itchy or fighting the pressure of the foal moving around. Could this shedding be a sign that spring might actually be close at hand. I sure hope so...

Ditto (1/19 or 2/28) ***Possibility for tonight*** @ J Bar S Ranch
I do believe Ditto may be a possibility for tonight. I have been watching her since we came in and she is not staying still too long. She did for awhile after she ate, but for the last hour or two, she doesn't stay still too long. I was just out there and cleaned her stall. Her milk is fully down into her teats now, more than it was at 6PM. She is extremely long and loose in the woohoo region. She is warm to the touch and a little clammy on her chest. It is in the 30's here and I have a heat lamp on her - but nothing that would make her warm. We will see how she progresses. Both me and Jr are going in to work late tomorrow because of the foot of snow we now have, so I just put on a pot of coffee and we will sit here and watch her for a few more hours. Hopefully she will get the show on the road!

Ok it's up...apparently my daughter unplugged the laptop and the charger, though keeps it on, does not charge most of the time...we need a new plug/charger...anywho...once we brought it in to get it back up it appeared it wasn't going to turn on at all...that is what took us some time...then once we got it going we decided to get a few things ready...make sure there was some type of bedding in her stall, wrap her tail and get her a bit more comfortable and ready...oh AND load her hay with peppermint treats so she wouldn't eat her bed!!!! LOL!! I think she finally figured it out after some serious coaxing...Ok Mandy!!! WE ARE READY!!! Well...almost...if you can just wait till tomorrow and we make one last run to get some missing items THEN we'll be ready!!!

Thanks everyone...thank you Torie for calling...hopefully we are back up without ANY MORE DOWN time!!!!
