Whizdom **COLT 2/3** due 2/3 @ Hicks *milk tests ready* AND WAX! I know I am just amazed at what a great mother she is, shes being so paitent loks like hes giving it a try again now. His legs look like they will be just fine. I am guessing the vet will reccomend splints or maybe even just wrapping and he may need some glue on shoes with heel extensions once the tendons get more in the correct position. Thier legs are so easliy manipulated in the early days of life. By the time hes a month old you wont even know he had anything out of place! http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=hicksranch
Nelly@ Belcher Quarter Horses due 2/20 Wow, thought I'd never be able to get on here and post. Yes, we r still w/o power in most of SW Oklahoma. Our area was hit the worst. They are not expecting power to be back up until next week. Isn't that crazy?! I'm about to go nuts. We've been staying w/ some friends down the road because they have a fireplace and we r total electric at our place. So we r able to have some heat w/ that and the generator that we have hooked up to their house. We also lost water for a few days, so we were having to haul it in for the horses. The people we r staying w/ do not have water because they are on well water. Thank God for their swimming pool, at least we r able to bucket water out of it to flush the toilets. I tell you what- I've never seen so many out of state people coming in to an area to sit up on the side of the road to sell generators. And not to mention how far we had to go the first few days just to find fuel. I haven't been able to wash any clothes and my 4 house dogs just don't realize why they are living in another house w/ 3 other dogs. My poor house kitty thinks we've abandoned her and looks twice her normal size now since she's fluffed up to try to keep herself warm. It's really bad around here. I don't think most people realize just how bad. I think if I can survive this though, I think I would have been okay to live back in the old days!! I am praying that Nelly holds off through all of this because I'm not able to stay at home to keep an eye on her like I would like to. I do check on her three times a day. Her milk bag is so full it's about to explode and I've had to start her on daily banamine for her pain. She can hardly get around, poor girl. I guess if she waxes up, I'll have to sleep in the tack room of the barn so that I can be there to help if needed. I'm really having marestare with drawals! I'm visiting my mother tonight, so that's how I'm able to post this message. I can check the marestare message board from my phone, but for some reason I can't post a message on it. Please pray for all the people in OK that have lost power and who are dealing with this nightmare that we are dealing with. I can tell you this- IT'S NOT FUN!!!!! http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php/alias=belcher
Ditto (1/19) **We have WAX!** @ J Bar S Ranch Sorry I haven't updated. Been a crazy morning. Ditto is in, as we are to have rain. She is close this morning I feel. I'm at work right now, but I have gotten the ok to leave anytime I need to. I'm going to try to get a little work done this morning and then may head home if she keeps everything up. Her teats are totally full and she has the cone shape going on now. She got the cones in 2 hours this morning, because when I checked her at 6am at feeding, she wasn't that full, and then I checked her as I was leaving and she was totally full - so I feel she is going to move quick now. I have her up on my laptop here at work. I can't watch every second though - so if y'all see something - please text or im me. http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=jbars
Addi 349 days BORING AGAIN & Fishy due 2/8/10 @ Comfert Shetlands Hi all! I am back! Peaches looks really good the vet thought, some drainage, but not bad stuff. So, she was flushed and will go back for a culture in a few weeks to be sure all is good
I let Addi and Fishy out in the mud, they are enjoying some sunshine. I HOPE they really like it today, cause tomorrow (as of this am) weather said more rain and SNOW mix tomorrow! So, so, glad I got the vet stuff done today so that I dont have to fear getting out on these hills with the trailer! NOW, Addi, YOU stay healthy so you dont have to have a vet visit and I dont have to freak about getting you there!
I havent decided on the shavings, just got in and Claire (my 3 year old) doesnt really want to get back in the car at the moment....I will let yall know if I decide to go and will bring the girls back in if I do!
So....again, we wait! That foal has to come out sometime Addi....
Pinky (3-29) & Sugar (4-1) Maiden @ Westernstable NL Hi all! We are so happy to be back with 5 mares this year who will appreciate you staring at them!
We have a switching cam cause we have two new foaling stalls cause we have two by two mares that are close to one and other with their due dates. Also two maiden mares this year so thats why we chooses two cams switching.
On cam now: Pinctada Catalynx (Pinky) a QH buckskin mare 14.6 H and pregnant with Savvy Sparkle (Shining Spark X Ms Wimpy Leo) This will be her third foal, but the first one out of this Stallion who is owned by Pascale Lenaerts from Belgium!
Jays Sugarcane (Sugar) a QH Chestnut mare 15.5H and a maiden (she is also 15 years old) and pregnant with Peps Scrambled Macs a palomino stallion I bred myself. Sugar is as sweet as her name!
We are still working on the cameras since the one on Sugar is a lot darker than the one on Pinky, and the cameras are exactly the same (?) we really appreciate it when you can tell us how your view is at the cams so we can improve them when needed!
Als ik het goed begrepen heb,was het bij Lazyacres een red-bag bevalling.....

Van de eigenaren :
Came inside for a few moments. Thank you all so much for all of your understanding and prayers.
I tried to call my vet and he did not answer. We live in such a remote little area and the closest Equine Vet with all that I would love to have is in Athens about 3 hrs from me. I can do more by working with him than shoving poor April in a trailer for 3 hours.
As for the baby, he is doing okay for now. I am really pulling for him but he is so very very tiny. It was a red bag. As soon as my husband cut the bag, he flew out in my hands pretty much. He is doing okay except he does not have much strength in his little legs. They just go all over the place. He was not sucking well at first. He is trying to get the hang of sucking but it is so hard to hold him up and get him attached. He is definately a fighter.
I don't really know what tomorrow brings for this sweet boy. Something caused April to start showing signs of foaling Saturday night. She has not eaten well or rested since then. He looks to be term but his little legs just don't work like they should. I am going to work with him until I can get the vet in the morning.
Thank you all again for understanding and not being critical of his care. We all try to do what we can and when we can't get a vet, it is even worse.
I do know I will get another oxygen tank for my foal kit !!!
This is not a good way to start out our foaling season :-(
Eigenaren hebben hem net laten drinken....het was net een lappenpopje zo slap.Op MS stond: Just talked to my vet. We are meeting them at the office........... Will update when we know something.....thanks for all the prayers.
Vet seems to think the little guy has more to it than what we see. Time will tell......
Pinky (3-29) & Sugar (4-1) Maiden @ Westernstable NL Thanks HHorselover so much for watching Pinky last night. I put her up and not switching to Sugar cause her camera is very dark. In a few days we get the new camera and I hope it will be netter than. It is nice to see you all back and lets hope we get a good foaling year!!! For the Dutch girls: It is also helpfull to watch at daytime since I am not able to sit in front of the TV's all day.... Pinky & Sugar need to get used to the stalls cause these are both outside and at the back of our inside stalls, so the girls can't see the other mares. It is much better there cause its quiet.
April **ANGEL COLT 2/3** @ Lay Z Acres The little guy didn't make it. The vet says he believes the baby was a little premature. He weighed in at a whopping 16 pounds. He was breathing fine on his own and the vet thinks oxygen would not have made a difference either way. It was beyond that. His joints in his legs were not strong like they needed to be and his internal organs were not quite where they needed to be. I think we all can take a step back and learn tons from this horrible horrible nightmare. I really hate that it has to be at poor April's expense. She is doing okay. It is like she knew something was not right. She didn't seem to mind that anyone handled him and when we had to come back home, she didn't even knicker for him. She is eating hay quietly now and doing okay.
Enough rambling. Thank you for all of the kind words and prayers. With as open as I am with my barn, I would appreciate the next time someone has a HARSH comment, they would just keep it to themselves or email me privately. That handleful of people were not at my house last night. Those types of comments make it very hard for me to be as open with the viewing of my barn as I am. It makes me feel as if I should have just done what everyone else would have and turned off the cam when I saw it was a red bag.
I am not going to say anymore because I think my point has been made.
Thanks again for all of those many many prayers and kind words. I am going to work outside today on keeping April company and getting the stall ready for Honey. I will make Honey a new thread. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=layzacres

Addi 350 days OFF AGAIN & Fishy due 2/8/10 @ Comfert Shetlands I dont know how many of you caught it, but Addi pulled her stunt again this am with the laying down instead of eating breakfast! I got all excited again and though OH GOODY! I must say though, the pit of my stomach also got really upset as this was supposed to be the first foal of the year, which is always nerve racking to me and then a maiden on top of that...and of course, just a little over a week ago losing Peaches filly.
I had been on my way out to take the kids to school, we got up a touch late and missed the bus, so was on the way to go take them. It was already snowing and sleeting mix, and I got to the hwy and decided to just come back home, that they would probably be calling school off anyway. I was SO GLAD that I had done that when I was feeding and Addi pulled her laying down, getting up, rolling, etc.....THEN, to my disappointment AND COURTNEY'S WHO WAS REAL EXCITED!!! She got up finally and started EATING....yeah, these little girls just CANT miss a feeding
Her udder is MUCH tighter and she is just a step away from having white colostrum. She is at the opac VERY, VERY sticky stage, which I would be happy if she would foal at this point with what she has. Udder is still not full. I am beginning to think that at 350 days she is just NOT going to get a FULL rock hard udder...took me long enough to decide that huh?
Cam is strictly on Addi at this point! Oh, and I think I had 2 out of state numbers on my cell this am. SCARY but I think I slept right thru them....So, anyone who may have called I am SO SORRY I did not pick up and that really bothers me as Addi could have been foaling! Going to have to start getting a little more sleep so I am not so deprived that when I do go, I sleep too sound! http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=comfert

Kisses @ PJ Pasture 355 Days 1/27/10 She has been very crabby for the last two days, even kicked at me last night totally not our Kisses normal behavior. Besides being uncomfortable no signs of going anytime soon. http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=pjpasture
Ditto (1/19) *Getting the Plunger out!* @ J Bar S Ranch Morning update! Ok - now I'm just plain tired and frustrated! She really needs to get on with it already! I took a vacation day today. She is close - just won't let it happen. It is raining again today, so they will all be in for now. It is suppose to stop in a few hours. At that point, I will probably put some of them outside, but she is going to stay in, so she will probably get upset. I will post later as the day progresses or as she progresses. UGH!!!!! http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=jbars
Our mare Destin Tobe Fantastic..aka Baby due Feb 14, Valentines Day...info.. Thursday update... Baby was alittle uncomfortable last night, lots of tail switching, yawning and she laid in every inch of the stall... she had a bigger bag after being outside yesterday, so we are getting there.. husband will be home all day today, so he's keeping an eye on her...Might have to call and remind him of that.. I'll know more how's she's doing when I get home and take a look at her.. I'm still thinking on time for that Valentine's baby..She'll be in every night til foaling and after this weekend, everyday too, she will be so thrilled... thanks for watching http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=treasure

Scarlett van Freelands zit al 2 dagen op 5 streepjes op haar melktest
First I want to say how much I appreciate all your email, posts and prayers for Scarlett and her baby. She has held out another night and day and that's a very good thing. Every day that she carries this baby is a plus.
She is still testing five squares on her milk strips and her PH is still at 6.5. We are keeping a really close eye on her and still hoping she will hold off a little longer.

jammer, gemist.
Update Scarlett, Freelands gypsy horses:
Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry to be so late with the update tonight. Scarlett is just about the same...Milk strip test still at 5 squares and PH still at 6.5. When I was checking her tonight the baby was kicking up a storm. I'm very thankful that we have had a couple of extra days of her carrying this baby and I'm still hoping we get a few more.
We have had rain almost continuously for the last 24 hours ...mud , mud and more mud. At least the temperatures are not extremely cold. Hopefully tomorrow will be rain free and Rosa and Bronwen will be able to go outside for the day. That little filly sure loves to run and play outside.
