ik ben hem ook kwijt... voor wie het interessant vind omteweten wat erallemaal ongeveer mis kan gaan en dat nog niet weet iets om te kijken tot dat de streaming er weer is

graag gedaan (mijn merrie moet over 6 weken dus ik vind het niet zo tof om te lezen haha) nou hoop dat we die cam weer aan zien gaan met een kleintje erbij in de loop van de avond.. Het zag er behoorlijk serieus uit zeg... heel naar

Update over Bella, de pony bij T and J :

There was no thread for Bella because she was not due until March. The baby was in a bad position and they are on their way to the vet with her. We will update as soon as we know something. Thank you Jude for answering her

Ik heb de link even doorgelezen. Erg interessant en goed om te weten!
Zo word je maar weer eens met je neus op de feiten gedrukt. Het is echt niet vanzelfsprekend.

up date bella at t and j Farms

I dont know where to start. So here goes-this past weekend started out on Friday night with Bella keeping me up until 1am. I noticed she was rolling outside in her pen. So I assumed she was colicing, I injected her with banamine and we walked and walked. She seemed to still be uncomfortable for awhile and then it subsided. The next morning, she was completely normal, came up all sassy to the gate wanting her breakfast. Thru the day on Saturday she had normal stool and was eating and drinking normal. My goal was to move the 2 mares in the barn over the weekend so I could get them on cam. So, then on to Saturday night the same time, she started this activity again. So I walked and walked thinking she was still having a little colic. On Sunday she was normal again at breakfast, and we got the stall ready and brought the 2 mares in. Still no sign that she was sick or getting close to foaling. This am I noticed early that she had been rolling a bit, so when I went out and chored I checked her over good, gave her hay and she acted like she was starving, which is usual. I checked her bag, nothing there that was any different. So off to work, I received a few calls this am, about what her behavior was. Thanks sooo much to all who called to update me. I thought it was a little odd that she was so uncomfortable, since I had just left for work, and she was absolutely normal then. When I finally got home, she was foaling with the bag out. I palpated her and found that she had nothing presented, all was still deep inside of her. I also noticed that there was a foul smell, coming from the discharge. I managed to get the feet out, but then the head was twisted backwards and seemed to be intertwined with the rear feet. So, tried to push the feet back in and pull the head around. Which I succeeded with, but for whatever reason she wasnt dilated very well and did not seem like she should be foaling. The foal was dead when I arrived, there was never any movement. The vet arrived after I had tried and tried, we decided to try and do what we had to to get the foal out. But there just wasnt any room to get any part of the foal out. The foal seemed small, maybe a little premature and from what he thinks, the foal has maybe been dead for 24-48 hrs. What surprises me the most is that Bella has been her normal self, eating and drinking and being just as sassy as ever, while having this dead foal in her. We are guessing that she was trying to abort it, which has been why she was so uncomfortable. I had to make the humane decision, and put Bella to sleep. One of the hardest things I have ever done, she was my first mini. My husband surprised me one year for christmas, and bought her and then hid her in a friends barn until christmas morning. She was so sassy when we first got her, she and I were inseperable. I will miss her so much, and I feel so bad that I couldnt have helped her. Being in the veterinary profession I do this kind of thing for a living every day of my life, no matter what kind of experiences I have been thru it doesnt get any easier. I know she is in a wonderful place along with her sweet little baby, and I know they are running free!! Thanks to all who were watching, and thanks for being a part of my marestare family-u dont know how much it means to me

Jeetje wat een slecht einde. Wel goed dat ze dit vrij snel hebben durven besluiten. Sterkte voor de eigenaren.

arme eigenaar dit wens je niemand toe je eerste merrie kwijtraken. Hopelijk gaan de andere bavalling goed voor hun dit jaar.

zowieso een slecht begin dit jaar, mia veulen dood , dood kalf, fanali een moeilijke bevalling en start veulen, deze...ik hoop dat het vanaf nu beter gaat! maar ja...natuurlijk gaat er ook wel eens iets mis helaas.

wat ontzettend sneu voor de eigenaar van Bella. Dat is echt je ergste nachtmerrie...

Verder even opgezocht hoe koud het is bij Elements, aangezien de update zegt dat het zo koud is:
-26 tegen -20 graden!! Ik zeg: binnenhouden die babies!

De temperaturen zijn inderdaad heel erg beneden nul in amerika en dat blijft de komende dagen ook nog wel. Pff wil de mensen daar heel veel sterkte toewensen.
