April (ON CLOSE WATCH) and Honey due 2-14-10 @ Lay Z Acres April still seems to be holding her own. I was actually able to get semi sticky opaque fluid out of her bag this time. She still has a temp of 102.4. She is not sweaty and appears ready but relaxed. I still would like more milk though.
She has a little poop in her corner but very little. She has drank almost 1/2 a bucket of her water since about 7pm.
Addi 346 days @ Comfert Shetlands Yeah, Courtney is all into this. She LOVES Addi, when she is outside, Addi follows Courtney around ALL OVER the place! She stopped eating for Court to pet and scratch her, you all probably couldnt see her little face turning toward Court, but she was all into the loving. She is very helpful in the barn and when I say, do you want to go to the barn, I get an instant YES! Doesnt matter what the weather is like, she is READY!
Courtney is WAY more excited/anxious for this foal...I mean, I am ready to see it, but Courtney, it is KILLING HER and knowing about what happened with Peaches and being there for some of that disaster, well, she is READY for a new foal that makes it and she can "play with". I am hopeful that Addi will still allow Court to be near and will let her play with her foal (for that matter, I am hopeful she will let ME handle the foal!). Courtney usually does most of the halter breaking and stuff with the foals, she is ALL into that, and sometimes gets a $5 bill handed to her for her "training"
Well, miss Addi, she is still not "ready". To me, standing there eating, it looks like her hip bones are sticking out some. She has definately dropped in the hip but udder is about the same, plenty of amber fluid, but STILL NO SIGN OF ANY MILK! Come on Addi....get with the program! http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=comfert
Whizdom - due 2/3 at Hicks *milk tests ready* Well I did move Whizdom into the stall with straw, she looks about the same, I did test her milk again. Its not white yet but very thick and sticky, the calcium still tests way high, the pH went up a little from whe I tested it before but is still in the foaling range. I have been seingher hold her tail out a lot...maybe that means shes thinking of doing something...or maybe she has gas well now she seems pretty much back to normal, she had 2 piles in her stall, one mushy one not. Who knows what she will do. I will go back to switching cams when I go to bed http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=hicksranch
Ditto (1/19) **We have WAX!** @ J Bar S Ranch Morning update. She still has sticky teats. No forming wax though. Her tail is up some and her butt is really sunk in. I haven't decided if she is going out or if I'm keeping her in on cam. My outside cam I can't turn on right now as it is too wet out there, plus, that pen is too muddy to put her and Cat in. Cat and Blitz are going out in another paddock. I'll decide when I go back out, depends on how much she wants to go. If the stall is empty - I put her out, but there is someone here on site that will watch her outside all day. If I leave her in, I will have my laptop with me to check in on her. She is picking at her hay and she really didn't dive into her feed this morning either. She really needs to hurry up now as the No Sleep is really starting to get to me! http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=jbars
LADY at the KRUGER RANCH **BLACK COLT 1/31** - Born on Day #338 FINALLY!... HE'S HERE..! He's healthy, he's big & he is black! Cute little head & ears He has leg white on 3 legs ( both hind & 1 front) & a blaze. Couldn't find any belly spots & not sure if his left hind leg white is tall enough to qualify for APHA regular registry, so he may be registered as a Solid Paint Bred. But we are so pleased..!
Lady had a bit of a hard time with this delivery. She was pretty shakey for awhile there, but we got some pain meds in her & she has gotten more comfortable. She is VERY protective of him right now. so I am monitoring from the house on the cam.
I will take some color photos tomorrow when we turn them out for some exercise.
I want to say thank you to all of you who posted here. I had no idea of what time it was so nice to be able to look back & see what was happening & when. Special thanks to Leila for calling us & sounding the alert.! http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=kruger
Nelly@ Belcher Quarter Horses due 2/20 DS Posting on behalf of Chrissy, power is out in Marlow since 1/28. Could be another week before power is restored and camera is live. Nelly is making progress and her bag is very full. I hope she holds until the camera is live again. Lovely is also making progress with her bag, although she is not close yet. Thank you for all your well wishes in this difficult time. Will update if anything changes. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php/alias=belcher
Striker(1/18) Unforgettable(2/1) Ace(2/1) Tess (2/6) Wishy(2/16)@MulligansRun Striker's cam is back on with some additional features...still working out the kinks, but cam is up and live.
Update on Striker...not really anything significant. Her bag is full and easily seen from all angles. Cinnamon is getting a bag so Wishy or Ace may get the boot. Cinny has been known to make quick changes, so someone may loose their suite privileges.
Things are progressing here and the mares are backing up and beating on the barn door for their maternity suites. We're going to have to put stalls in the aisles...just like beds in the aisles at thehospitals when they have overflow. We normally have the hay barn to use, but the guys cut the power to it and haven't had a chance to restore it. I'm sure we'll come up with something. Someone may get the boot while we sort it out and play musical stalls.
On cam 2 today you will find Pearl, a maiden mare who is 296 days and acting uncomfortable. She is within the safe range but she has absolutely no bag. We think the baby is just causing pressure and discomfort, but we have her in to observe. Better safe than sorry.
Striker is still holding onto her little one and Cinnamon is gaining on everyone. She got the spa treatment today with the belly shave.
Addi 347 days DRIVIN ME NUTS @ Comfert Shetlands Well, Addi is now about to drive me nuts. I really could use a nice healthy foal right about now. The year hasnt started off so well for us here, so Addi, do please get with the program!
Well, udder a touch firmer, but again, nothing exciting, still not milk, just the yellowish sticky fluid. 347 days has passed our average foaling time by oh, about a week, so I just do not know what she is waiting on. I guess there is only one thing to do, KEEP watching her! http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=comfert
