Addi 345 days @ Comfert Shetlands ~~ Peaches *ANGEL FILLY* You can call me anytime Chris, and anyone else!!!
I dont think tonight is the night, but I have been proven wrong several times. I just hope she gets milk in AT foaling or RIGHT after. I do have the domperidone on hand if she decides that milk isnt her thing....I also have some colostrum saved from past mares and did take some from Peaches the other night. I would prefer NOT use Peaches it was not as thick as I like, but decided to take it for EMERGENCY only.
Oh, and Peach is doing WONDERFULLY. She will go to the vet, well....when the roads clear up that is! Culture and flush and then will be rechecked before breeding back. I will probably not breed her back til March or so for sure. I am SO THANKFUL she is doing so well! She's my girl
Some cam interference tonight, not sure why, maybe just the weather. I will play with the receiver a bit and see if maybe it would like a different spot better. Sometimes it gets bumped and it just does NOT like to be moved! http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=comfert
Barlnk Tuff Miss Jan 18th @ TwinAcresRanch *getting ready to make candles!!! ugh 1/30 update..... We have wax, we have skim milk, we have test strips that go to all 5 squares in less then 5 seconds!!! What does all this mean? NOTHING!!!! according to Miss Missy girl! http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=twinacres
April**slowin dwn**(?/?)& Megan due(?/?) @ R & D's Miniatures(Both Maidens) Still havin puter/cam probs....Desktop puter crashed so we have redone it and hopefully fixed everything....and now we gotta get the cam goin AGAIN on our end....(3yr old +cam wires=not a good combination lol)
The girls bags are slightly changin again...with April havin the bigger bag of course....shes been doin really well... Megans doin well also, shes gettin better at lettin me touch her bag-although if any ones standin in front of her she likes to rear up and try to bit em....sooo wrkin on that Vet believes they will go at the end of Feb. or the beginnin of March...Which is really great bc it will start to warm up! it stinks not knowin thier due dates guess i better start readin em the book....especially with them bein maidens and all lol
~Anyway
We could use a few prayers for our mare Dolly-who is due in April-shes been put on antibiotics for placentitis...She will be on cam-when we get it up and runnin again...She had her first dose of the antis 1/30 so she will be on them for 2 weeks....Hopin for some improvements by the end of those 2 weeks,or she will be put on a different round of injectables.
Blackbird 816(Heifer) @ Heluva Ranch Due 2/3 We changed the lighting system for the calving shed and it seems to be so much better without the spotlight effect any longer. Blackbird is still all systems go and was much more restless this evening then normal, lots of tail switching and weight shifting although she is resting now. Hopefully she will get this done. The good thing about cows is that they stay pretty true to their due dates and hers is 2/3. We really appreciate all the extra eyes. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=heluva
Ditto (1/19) **We have WAX!** @ J Bar S Ranch Lots of little poop piles and the last one she did while i was there - there were only 3-4 peices -so I do believe she is cleaning herself. No more wax, but both teats had hair stuck to them - so she is leaking. She jumped big time while I was in there - for no reason - so I think she had a contraction or something as she really jumped. We will see if she keeps fighting it or if it is finally going to take over. I put on another heat lamp, as it is quite cold tonight and want her stall warmer to be ready for that foal she is gonna have! LOL! http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=jbars
Striker(1/18) Unforgettable(2/1) Ace(2/1) Tess (2/6) Wishy(2/16)@MulligansRun The girls are in for the day. We have ice and more rain falling...I hope not much more or we will be losing some trees. Hopefully NOT power, but definitely some limbs. Everything is wet and iced....not fun. It's times like this that I wish for snow instead of rain.
Updates on the girls... Tess's bag and Unforgettable's bag are both bigger. Ace and Wishy are just hanging out enjoying the attention. In fact if you look at Ace's photos she's sucked her bag in so far she's concave. Shannon should be posting bag photos as I type. You will find all these girls hanging out on cam #2 http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=mrun2
On Cam #1 http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=mulligan we have Striker. While she still hasn't released any fluid, her bag is full and her vulva is relaxed and seems ready. She's been very uncomfy and we felt it was time to get her stall ready. It's been stripped of shavings and the cardboard has gone in. For those of you who are new to our cam, we don't foal on shavings. We use cardboard pieces that are more environmentally friendly, absorbant and safer for the foals. http://www.huntclubinc.com/ is the manufacturer. Once we line the stalls with the cardboard we likely won't go back to shavings. It's just easier to get shavings. The cardboard is sold an hour away so we have to buy in large quanitties when we go.
Perhaps the full "wolf" moon, the weather (low barometer) and being overdue will get the foaling season underway here at Mulligans Run Farm. We're very happy to have you join us in the barn.
Whizdom - due 2/3 at Hicks *milk tests ready* Whizdoms bedtime update: she still looks like she could go at any time but is not pacing or agitated which I would expect. If she starts that give me a call and I'll go put straw in her stall. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=hicksranch
April (ON CLOSE WATCH) and Honey due 2-14-10 @ Lay Z Acres I put the low alert back up this morning. April will not eat her breakfast and has not touched her hay. I feel she should be watched closer today. I am looking for possible colic signs? Labor signs? Or maybe the foal is on a nerve causing discomfort? I put the low alert back up this morning. De geitenboerderij; Barb should be next ! **1 Buck 1/28** @ King Hill Ranch Under cam is Patches. Single doe kid early this morning, not the brightest bulb in the box...
Patches lost her kid last year but adopted a kid from another sick mom, this year looks like she gets to raise her own!
3 more does, besides Barb, are waiting in the wings. I'll put them on cam later on today
------> Next update; Snip is in the second pen on the right, just had a doe and a buck! That brings my total babies born today to 6. The does on either side are looking close.
Barb? Who knows, she's enjoying the bed and breakfast with maid service..I made her go out with the new moms today.
Addi 346 days @ Comfert Shetlands Hi all, well, yet another day of watching Addi...she is getting quite boring these days....SIGH.... I absolutely do not have ANYTHING to say, MAYBE udder a tiny bit more firm....but maybe I am just LOOKING FOR ANYTHING! I guess she will do it when she is darn good and ready. Sun is out today and she will go out here in a bit. Jill http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=comfert
LADY at the KRUGER RANCH - "WAX" - WAS DUE 1/28 - Today is Day #338 UPDATE: I had the Vet out here to check some other mares this morning, While I had him here, I had him palpate Lady.
He also checked her with the ultrasound, & we got to see the baby's big eye! He said the foal is pointed the right direction to the exit, but is still laying on it's side. It hasn't rolled over yet. Other than that, all is well. So, all we can do it continue to wait & watch. http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=kruger
Ditto (1/19) **We have WAX!** @ J Bar S Ranch More wax and a lot of leakage too this morning. She has hair stuck all over her teats! I'm going to let her out for a few hours today. I have the outside cam unplugged because of all the wet weather we have had, or I would turn it on. I will be watching her though, and if she starts anything, she will be brought back in. I haven't decided if I will put Cat and Blitz out, but if I don't, the cam will be on them, but if you see an empty stall, then they are all out for awhile. It was just snowing out there when I was feeding, but just spitting little bitty flakes. I don't think it is suppose to do this all day, but we will see. She just couldn't do it when I have a day off - gotta wait til I have to go to work the next morning!!! http://www.marestare.com/cam.php?alias=jbars
MOKA at the KRUGER RANCH - WAS DUE Jan 23 - Today is Day #353 Moka & Lady are out for their morning exercise in the indoor arena. Maybe some activity will shake those babies loose!
Becky at Hicks Ranch Due 2/6 (Our latest addition to the cam rotation is the black mare Becky. Becky is a recipient and is carrying a foal by Spook and out of CC Chic Olena. I will go out and attempt to get milk to test a little later, she does NOT like me handeling her udder so hopefully I can get some! Her udder is very big and she looks to be fairly close, I'll know more when I check the milk)
De low staat nog, die staat er overigens al de hele dag, en is ook al eerder in dit topic gemeld, ven teruglezen dus om dubbele info te voorkomen..

Milk is at a constant drip now..... The cam is dark because we have shut all the lights off. Now we are going to trick her like she has been tricking us!!!
