We hebben wel zelf een cam in de stal hangen, maar niet via internet. Ten eerste weet ik niet hoe het moet en hoe duur het allemaal is, en ten tweede weet ik niet of ik zelf wel op de cam wil hihi.

born dead too tiny to have survived...beautiful palomino with 4 white stockings (another Peaches). Peaches is still pushing and it was a red bag and the placenta had started to detach so we know now why this happened. wondering now if there was another baby even smaller in there....we'll know soon. Jill said she told Roger her husband to pull the plug when the baby was born.....

Polly due 1/30 @ Little Creek Side Farm Miniature Donkey's
Polly is about the same today so far. Full bag and teats but no action. Polly it's about time!!!!!! She is so grumpy right now. She is not being very nice to her best friend Love.
By the way.... Love looks like she could pop but she has 2 months to go.

Cinnabar due 1/21 at Hicks Ranch **WAXED**
she has lots of wax. seems pretty calm but she might be the kind of mare that does not real agitated before foaling...shes not a drama queen like Honey, lol. I'll be up for a little while longer, I sure am glad I went back to bed at 5:30am after I finished with Honey and Meg. I got another 3 hours of sleep after that I will wrap up her tail and put straw down before I go to bed.

Ditto (1/19) **Very Uncomfortable tonight** @ J Bar S Ranch
Ok - went out and put straw down. I have seen her throw herself up against the wall twice now to rub the butt. I'm thinking she has some major pressure going on. She is breathing heavier too. She doesn't have hardly any belly on the sides, it is all underneath and even then, isn't down as far as it has been - so the baby has moved up into position.

Remember she is a maiden - so I think she will fight it for a bit, but I wanted the straw down in case she just drops and has it. I'll be checking her every 30 minutes or so tonight - unless she really starts something in the next hour. Tonight will be much better than tomorrow as it is still warm out there and tomorrow it will be freezing.

Charm (2/1) @ Ravenwood ~~ Top Model **Angel Colt 1/27**
Last I heard, she is very sore (obviously) but is doing fine and is at the vet for observation. The foal was very big and no feet were presenting and the head was turned back and sideways. Dr. Meeker (the best dang mini vet in the country, IMO) was able to turn the foal and get him out but it was too late. Craig just happened to be up at THREE a.m. watching TV when this happened. Since no feet were presenting, nothing was setting off the foal alert. So he was VERY lucky that he happened to be up.

OK, Ella's cam should be back up. Rick is remoted into the computer to try to de-bug it or at least problem solve for me. It's been up and fine for a couple of weeks now. Not exactly sure why it became "prickly" today!

Thanks. Ella is looking closer all the time. Her milk test is coming along- her PH is dropping and her calcium levels are rising- all appropriate things.

Barlnk Tuff Miss Due Jan 18th @ TwinAcres Ranch *testing to foal in 12-24 hours
1/27 update...... 10pm

Missy is 9 days past due and normally foals at 350 which is tomorrow.... She is testing higher than 80% chance of foaling in 12 - 24 hours. My friend Jennifer just got over here, but extra eyes are appreciated Mark is out of town and I have to be up at 6am to get twins on the school bus.... Going to be a long night.....

The current camera I have in her stall gives a wierd view right now, but we can at least tell if she acting out &/or laying down.
If one of the other "Ladies In Waiting" don't foal soon, we can enlarge Kelly's stall to a double stall to give her more room to foal.
Otherwise the plan (?) is to move Kelly in to one of the larger foaling stalls just as soon as one of the other mares foal.

Meanwhile, we thank everyone, as always, for helping to keep an eye on our Girls!

Morning update... Ditto is still breathing kind of heavy,from her norm. She is also extremely long and loose under the tail. No wax or drips yet, but she has a nice bag now and it is tight and a little warm. They will be in all day today and tomorrow because of rain and cold. I'll have my laptop at work to check on them, but I can't keep them up all day, so please, if you see Ditto starting anything - call, text or IM me. I can't answer my phone at work - but if you leave a message I'll check it. I can respond to text and IM though.

real quick post, I'll read everything later. its a colt, blaze and three whites. He was upside down and had one leg tucked back. i got the leg pulled forward but then thought I might be needng more help...all the boys were gone!!! So I came back and managed to get him turned sidways enough that he could come out. Cinnabar was a saint letting me do that with no one holdingher.She was pushing and contracting real good, he was just a little stuck. Hes finally perking up now an thinking about gettin up. I did get a couple ounces of colostrum in him and hes got a real good suckle reflex

Good evening everyone! Things are ok here, Peaches is still well and making me happy with her bouncing back so fast!

Addi, well, you all are on top of things, she is different today. She was a big brat outside this afternoon, I had to tie her up as she was out for blood on the two yearlings. I only had them out with her for a few minutes to clean their stalls, but she was really carring on so I tied her up. Naughty girl.

Then she liked to dragged me back to the stall, she is not usually like that at all. She got a small smack for that, misbehaving is not something I put up with well.

Belly is pretty big. I took some pictures of her today in the roundpen, but left the camera in the barn, will get it on late night check.

The weather has moved in. It is raining now and a co worker of my husband's in a town about an hour and a half away said that (at 5pm) there were 2 inch icicles on the road signs. roads were still good, but not for long. Rain has set in here, not freezing yet. According to weather.com for Everton, it was saying a tenth of an inch or so of ice and then 5-8 inches of snow. I know for many of you that is NOT much at all, but here in the hills, it poses some real trouble for us. We live on a hillside and we live in the "ozark mountains", very hilly, twisty roads around here.
Sooo, we will wait and see. Watch, Addi probably has waited all this time to foal for a time when the weather is bad! Udder wise, still small, again, maiden so I just really do not know what she will do. Hopefully she will give us good sign like pacing pawing, etc and not be so tricky as Peaches is.

Ubiquitous, as far as your question, as to what time of day they generally go. Well, I have some mares that seem to go late night or early am between midnight and 5am, they usually do stick to that. Peaches has always been a daytime type foaler, except for the one foal at 3:30 am. Other than that is it was around the 7am to noon times, except, last night went what, about 6pm or so.

Then I have some that just go when they are ready, or no set times at all. I have had just about as many go in the daytime as at night!

The next maiden, Fishy, she was set as due on Feb 8th, well, she was in the pasture with the stallion for the whole month and was never witnessed bred, but never did come back in heat last year with mulitple teasing with the stallion. As for now, no udder change at all....so, I have not brought her in. She will come in soon though to be watched or I will haul her in for a palpate when Peach goes in for her culture/flush in about 10 days or so.

Hi Everyone

Polly's belly has gone from pointed to very pointed in the last few hours. We have dinner plans for Kevins B-Day tomorrow night on Friday so of course she will probably hold off until then.
I expect her milk to start coming in soon. Hopefully by tomorrow but that is my wish not hers LOL. Judging from the past it's about 20 hours after milk starts coming in for her until the foal arrives. The last 2 foals have been born around 5:00 AM. Time for me to start doing middle of the night bag checks now!!! Remember, cross your fingers for a Jennet!

Well everyone, L gave birth to the most gorgeouse bay colt you ever laid eyes on. Jerri (heluvaranch) always told me, "when you get a really good one, you'll know it". Jerri is right! This colt is FANTASTIC! WOW!!! He is stunningly beautiful!

L did a good job foaling this colt by herself for the most part. I just helped her a little getting the shoulders out. She's a really good Momma. I just can't tell you how proud I am to own this darn colt! He is just amazing!! Not Kidden Me and L put a GREAT baby on the ground!

Ella Riva **COLT** 1/29 @ FieldsQH due 2/9/10
Amber and I are both going to need chiropractor's adjustments after this foaling. Oh, and Ella too! This is such a large colt- I just can't tell you how big. He's not just tall but heavy and meaty as well.

That Ella sure can put some big babies on the ground. We could not be more excited about breeding her to Chevy next. I'm sure she's bruised as it was nearly impossible for her to deliver him so she'll get some time to heal up correctly.

We intervened when it was obvious that she was not able to do this alone for the safety of the foal as well as to minimize trauma on her reproductive system as well!

I can't wait to hear what this little guys name will be. Someone in the Chat room suggested Everest since we have a Places theme going this year. I cannot imagine a bigger place than Everest!!!

We'll get pictures taken tomorrow and share his beautiful face with the world-

Ok - we went back out. She is definitly uncomfortable. And I was watching her the last hour or so and saw a lot of belly kicks.

I put the cam on just her. I'll be watching her for awhile.

Blitz was having some hard poo, so we gave him an enema (just warm water) and out it came, no issues. He was back to romping around in no time. I pulled out the foal blankets and we got him all nice and cozy in a blanket and I pulled another one out for Miss Ditto's foal!!! Now she just needs to let it come out so I can put it on it!

As much as I hate to say it I hope the girls hold off until next week when the weather "supposedly" warms up again. It's dropping in the 20's tonight so not nice weather for foals in our area. We have some heaters we can take into the barn if necessary, so we can handle it if needed.

Striker still has the largest bag, Unforgettable and Tess are closing in...slowly. Ace is still very slight as is Wishy.

If Ace acts oddly tonight it's because we have Gold Fever in the stall next to her. Gold Fever was acting a little off, so we decided to give her the night in since the weather is supposed to be yucky.

Hallo,

Ik kom hier zomaar even het topic binnenvallen met een praktische vraag.

Zo te zien hebben jullie ervaring met op stal een soort bewakingscamera/webcam, tijdens de afveulenperiode, waarop je via internet kunt volgen hoe het in de stal gaat.

De eigenaar, van de paarden die ik rij, woont niet meer op de boerderij bij de paarden (zoon woont er nu), maar een paar km verderop. en om zijn zoon niet te veel te belasten met 7 paarden die een veulen verwachten heeft hij eigenlijk ook wel interesse in zo'n systeem, maar weet er verder niks over.

Hoe werkt zo'n systeem, wat heb je er allemaal voor nodig en wat kost zoiets.
aanwezig: pc met internetverbinding op de boederij en een laptop met internetverbinding thuis
