Update Lucy, Eleanor & Jeannie: Dang Lucy thinks she NEEDS her Squirt! Too bad Lucy have a baby already would you
Nothing new going on but practicing out there. Last year Lucy was a pacer & a butt down the wall .. wall walker. She waxed and then dripped a bit before she went. She also foaled at 311 days .. but then she had a nasty infection last year. She will be at 342 days in a few hours.
Nothing new on the other 2. Bag pictures are up on all.
Don't lose any sleep here tonight... unless they pull a sneaky
Update Foxy, Precious & Shoshone: The vet was here today to flush Foxy's uterus with fluids and antibiotic solution. He says she seems to be doing good and should be fine. We are still having to give her the Oxytocin shots to make her uterus contract and push out any remaining fluids. This medicine causes pretty bad cramping in the mares for awhile after it is given. Several people have called me this afternoon and thought that Foxy looked like she was colicing. I had given her the shot not long before that. I really do appreciate the calls. It could have been something else and the calls might have alerted me to something I did not see at the time. You are a great group of people and I am so thankful that you all help me watch our horses.
Precious and her new boy are doing great. They had a wonderful day in the sunshine today. I will be taking new pictures and getting them on the site in a day or so.
Shoshone is still the same...no bag. According to the breeding reports she should now be at day 342. We are watching her carefully and hoping for some big changes soon.
Update Lacey: Here is her udder tonight. Still not full but getting bigger every day. You can see the crease in the back is starting to spread. She is uncomfortable and acting like she would like to hurry and get this over with any day but we have to wait for baby to say "I'm done baking". The temps are going to be on the warmer side from what it has been so it is good foaling weather. Anytime Lacey. We are ready.
Update Daffy: Well I have waited to update with news - bag has become really full and waxed - just checked on her again tonight at 11:00 and seems to be hopefully getting close - a little irriatated and touchy, tail and hips definitely show signs of being ready.
Daffy foaled last year at 329 days and that is TODAY - so maybe she will do it again this year.
Thanks for watching and checking in on us - if you see her foaling and no one in stall - please give us a call!
Update Mari, Wren, Pay & Rosie: Well, I guess, everything is as it should be. Mari(330) is getting closer and closer. We're very close tot he "anytime" phase.
Wren(320), I think, just "decided" on her own. That being in the stall was better then being in the pasture with Cora and Spirit.(no cookies either!) The stall is stripped down pretty much to dirt, after what she did to it last time. Wanted to make sure she settled in.
Im still not sure what I can do for poor Spirit(314). She has issues in the stall. This was something the previous owner DID mention to me. Although, never seen one quite THIS bad. We'll work on it. As foaling outside in April in Iowa is really not an option.
Pay(319) on a slow gain.
Rosie(301) on a slow gain.
Right now order of foaling. Mari, Pay, Wren,Rosie, Spirit.
Zo, ga ik nu eens hier de paarden voeren en kijken of er nog een update van Copper is Zal wel iets zijn van: Copper zegt meer voer, meer gras, minder gezeur aan m'n kop...
