Ja, ik heb ook het commentaar gelezen. Kan me voorstellen dat het zwaar is om je merrie zo te zien lijden..Hopelijk wordt er snel een gezond veulen geboren en zal dat de merrie wat opluchting geven.

Puppies!!

Allie appears to be in primary inertia. She's fully dilated, she is leaking amniotic fluid, and she is doing... nothing. It appears there are too many puppies to allow the uterus to contract.

Daarna:
Allie is out of surgery and has 12 puppies. 10 girls and 2 boys. The C-section choice was good as Allie had a structure up high inside and the puppies wouldn't have been able to be delivered on their own.

De onderste heeft al een veulen.
Of hebben we die nou gemist? :')

Nee die onderste heeft gisteren een veulen gehad. Het gaat wel heel slecht met dat veulen, dus vergis je niet als je daar de komende minuten mensen ziet lopen. Heel erg zielig om naar te kijken, veulentje ligt steeds te rollen en te schoppen.

Sorry cams were down but he began to crash pretty quickly.

Good news- Tess has milk and the foals IGG levels are nearing acceptable. We will retest in morning and hope that they are continuing to rise (now that she is making her own colostrum!)

Now for the bad- colt has a pelvic impaction. Vet gave him IV fluids, some drugs for his tummy, and a mineral oil/warm water tube enema. The impaction is pretty bad (based upon palpation) and is going to take a while.

We are in a wait and see pattern here. Watching him tonight but he is feeling a lot better than a few hours ago.

If you see him rolling continuously as he was trying to do earlier, please don't hesitate to call us. He's loping, trotting, and bucking now so that must be a sign that all of the prayer are working!

Nou goed. De low alert was voor de bovenste merrie. Was net ook aan het rollen, maar lijkt nu wel weer aardig rustig.

alert bij fields was al eerder vannacht (volgens mij, want kreeg er ook nog een van allie en het schaap)
stal van tess is leeg, jee wat een verhaal, we vroegen ons gisteren nog af wat ze aan het doen waren met het veulen. Hopelijk komt het allemaal goed

Some staff is going to the horspital with Tess and Chance,

Khris is staying there, because Ella should be foaling very soon.

Update:
Tess and Chance are on their way to Rood & Riddle. This is a world reknowned equine hospital about 1 hour from us. They are standing by for their arrival to tend to little Chance. We debated on continuing to care for him on the farm or sending him and felt that he was not responding to treatment here.

At this time, we believe that we are dealing with a pelvic impaction but perhaps there is more to his severe baby colic? Will keep all posted on this.

Our daughter Brittney (home from college for weekend) and Amber (assistant) are speeding them there now and will stay with them until we have a diagnosis/prognosis.

Thanks to all and I'm sorry that was so difficult to watch. His pain was terrible and we are hoping that they can make him feel better quickly there. He will be seen by Dr Scott Hopper and Dr Larry Bramlage (many will now from TB racing- he is the official vet for many high profile races). They are in the best hands we can give them now-

Thankfully, their owner made the decision to let us send them down-
