vooral spannend omdat we niks zagen, behalve een hoop schokkende bewegingen die erg lang duurden voor mijn gevoel. Mens gaf ook geen teken dat het goed (of slecht) ging.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Down she went. I wasn't certain she could manage it. But she doesn't look in pain, just happy to rest her body

She also suffered some damage to both of her front legs as a yearling, so I am trying to keep her weight down as much as I can to help save her legs from all the extra weight. She also has not laid down for about 2 months, not that any of us have caught anyway...So if ANY of you catch her lying down PLEASE post here and what time you saw her lying down.. I am EST.. Also I would like to know if you ever see her pawing at the ground(tearing her stall up) shaking her head, licking lips or yawning... These are all abnormal behavior for her and she has been doing all of them this past week...Also, if you catch her eating out of her corner feeder, please let me know that to and at what time..The vet was out twice on Friday, he took blood and did a CBC, said everything checked out great.. No temp. When he came back the second time he gave her a shot of Banamine and left some here for me.. Beauty is in foal to Million Dollar Luke, a bay quarter stallion.. She is a 16.2H mare..They always say the camera adds pounds to ya, WELL, her behind is really that big...LOL Here is a couple field shots of her so you can see her in real pictures and get a much better idea of what your watching on the camera...The picture of two horses, she is on the right, that picture was taken last spring while they were both in the middle of shedding their winter hair..The other one was taken just recently and she is in her winter hair.. This is my first Quarter baby since Beauty was born.. Normally I have Paint babies.. But no Paint babies this year. I am very excited about this foal and I hope we can get the foal on the ground without ANY complications!!! I also am hoping and praying for a filly.. Colors I would like to see from this breeding are Black, Bay, Bay Roan and a Blue Roan would be ok too..But a FILLY it must be....lol

oliebol.....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are having lots of problems and he is getting weak It is not looking good for "Chance" If there is no improvement tomorrow, I am afraid we will have failure of passive transfer and there is no hope for this lil one. at 24hrs he still will not suckle, no sucking response at all. He will not drink from a bottle, he will not drink from a bucket. We have syringed milk colostrum to him, but he lets it sit in his mouth and then run out. he tastes it on his tongue and gets very frustrated stomping his foot, cause he cant figure it out. He is a sweetie, and is a real beauty.
This is only our 2nd foal in 7 years to loose, so we do feel fortunate for that, after reading about so many problems that could go wrong. We are very disheartened, and sad for miss Deanna. She has put up with so much from us, stripping her out into a bucket over an over, letting the baby butt her udders over and over. This mare is such a DOLL always. She will accept any foal if anyone needs a nurse mare in Oklahoma. She raised 2 foals last year, her own and an orphaned foal. I sound like I am giving up hope, which I am not, but I have seen another "Dummy Foal Syndrome" and that outcome was not good either
