Jeanette, we kijken allemaal al dagen naar Porquette, alleen is ze hier omgedoopt tot Parket en net ook al tot Vloertje...

En inmiddels is ze uit haar stal verdwenen zie ik......

Wat de staart van Parketje betreft, dit las ik net op Marestare:
You can't really go by her tail because she is a Saddlebred and they have high tail carriages and do occasionally carry them to the side. They did braid her tail for the first time last night, so I think she's getting closer.

Solano
Well we now have ice out there not real bad yet. We are right on the line so will get it bad or it might miss me.
Solano didn't show me anything new other then she hates me right now. So we all are still at a stand still with her. She has never gone this long before. Now is it over her losing hers last year? I don't know for sure. Do i feel she is just fine yet? Yep sure do.
Kay got her Karen candy so she is happy tonight.

I want to start of by saying, what the heck was going on with Missy last night! She was doing everything but waxing and actually having the baby! So I do apologize to all that I may have startled... But hey, if you really want to see such an amazing event, such as a birth, it is a 24 hour job, that doesn't pay well or provide health insurance, LOL. So I feel terrible if I or Missy keep anyone awake all night. Me and my dad came to the conclusion that her foal must have been moving in the birthing position during the night, or birth canal. Missy isn't super experienced, and happens to be Oscar worthy in the drama department. So, we are getting closer, I just have no idea when "closer" is. She is due on Monday, and is bred to CK Kid, own son of Touchdown Kid, for all that were wondering. So its about 2:24pm. So I will check her at feeding time, and update again. Thanks.

UPDATE!

Moon Maid @ Brookhaven
Think it's time to start shuffling your desktops around to make room for Moon Maid! She's not been finishing her dinner or breakfast for days. Today she went out with a full (not hard) bag and came in with a full, hard bag. So, I thought now might be the time to check her milk with the refractometer. Well, it's almost at the very top of the scale!!! From my friends that use this to predict foaling what you look for is a big jump and I guess I missed the jump! When it makes "the jump", the mare usually foals within 12 HOURS! She is only 295 days from her last breeding so I surely wish she'd hold on a little longer!! Her milk was very easy to express and is yellow and sticky..not skim milkish. She also has a little discharge from her "tutu" and I don't know what to think of that.

ANYWAY, calling on all my marestarers! I've put her Equipage on, but am sure hoping this isn't IT. If she doesn't foal tonight (which, for some reason, I don't think she is....but what do I know), I'll check her milk again in the morning and update.

This is my mare that had a terrible dystocia with her last foal in 2005 so I'm a little nervous on this one and need you guys to help me watch!

Missy
Boy, it is cold here! It was so humid here yesterday, and now it is freezing! We are getting lots of ice and rain, a day earlier than expected! So maybe this weather change will keep Missy going towards a baby.... Today we thought her belly look lower, and could see her pelvic bones better. (which isn't very easy with big Missy) I am hoping we will have some wax eventually, but she could definitely have a foal with out waxing. I really want to see her bag explode though, getting really tight and all. Her bag was a little tender today, I reached under there and her back leg jumped! She was like, "whoa chief, your invading my personal space"! LOL. Well, this is my second post of the day. I think I want Missy to go so bad, the more I post, the better I feel about the whole situation. Anyways, I will be checking her a few times this evening. (unlike my usual 9:30pm check). So thanks for hanging around, and hopefully we will have a healthy, beautiful, colored Filly soon, mind you I said Filly!
