TEA show us your baby! @ Starlight Ranch - OVERDUE 345, Evening Update
Good morning everyone, as you can see no baby!! Tea seems to be in a holding pattern while she is more and more uncomfortable. She is definately not to the point it could be anytime as she went backwards about 18 hours ago. Guess baby is not ready to come into this world until fully cooked!!

Went ahead and stripped her stall as the barndry was getting low as well as the straw. So put in a bunch of barndry to make it nice and cushy for her since she goes down so darn hard. The remainder of the straw I put where she likes to pee so that we can remove it as we go just.

I know a cushy spot and she will just sleep more, but she is getting so heavy that the more she is off her legs the better it is for her health and well being as so far she is not swelling in her legs because she does get off of them.

When she has a huge amount of wax and or dripping milk we will say she is close, But until that happens we just keep watching and waiting. Don't shoot the messenger!!

Lexie's tall is very easy to lift, very soggy in the back, white wax on her teets!

Ik kreeg een update van Freelands Gypsy Horses:

Rosa day 330 @ Freelands Gypsy Horses
Rosa is the mare in stall # 1. Her bag has increased in size in the last several days and she is now testing 3.5 on her milk strip test. She is now at day 330. This will be Rosa's fifth foal and the longest she has carried a foal is 334 days. It will be interesting to see if she follows her regular pattern or keeps us waiting a little while longer.

Update Tea
Yep she is forgetting about the labor part,
All we can do is watch and wait she is making changes just has not done the final steps yet. Where's your book Tea?
I bedded really heavy with barndry this morning and Tom wanted to get a good cover over it with straw. So we went ahead and put it down when she likes to eat,
She has to get down to business one of these times!! We did put on the high rafter light so we can see her a little better even though it is dark down where Tea is.
Really she does have plenty of really nice alfalfa but I guess that oat straw tastes good as well.

Evening update - ok - both of them are warm to the touch and a little clammy feeling - both of them are uncomfortable and both are extremely loose and puffy under the tail!!! I will flip if they both go! My husband has never foaled out a mare - he might just have to jump in! I guess if it were to happen, he would be knocking on the vet's door for some help! We will see. I will be up watching for quite awhile yet.

I am going to continue watching Honey but she has no milk at all yet. She is soft in her rear and doing lots of leg shifting. She has dropped quite a bit since yesterday. I am hoping she is just starting to prepare.

The girls are in for the night,and havent seem to have a very happy day. grumpy, grumpy, grumpy! Megans still feelin the pressure and i believe the foal is layin wrong again....her leg was lockin up last night and it made an evil pop when i got it unstuck... gave me the chills..... Megan still has no fluids in her bag,but its gettin there!
April--well lol shes just slacked off a bit and slowed dwn...... so who knows what her plans are,i do know that she did NOT like to be brushed tonight.... never have done that before......

Addi GROUCHY!!! @ Comfert Shetlands 331 days
late evening update.....GROUCHY!!! She did have a couple "mushy" poos, not cow pies, but not normal poops for her. Also, reached down to just feel what her udder was like, and she tried to BITE ME!!! NEVER has Addi tried to bite, EVER!!! She is definately not into being checked anymore, and was NOT happy with my "touchy feely", so I definately did not push the point! I must say, my feelings are hurt I reckun I will forgive her...just this once! Udder is tighter, but still not "ready". About to head to bed in a few, Addi has been keeping me up almost all night with her laying down and sounding off the alarm (BAD GIRL!). Cam will go down for a couple minutes but should be back up (switching computers out).

Ditto (1/19 or 2/28) & Cat (2/4)@ J Bar S Ranch
Morning update - both girls were uncomfortable early in the night and then both relaxed and were ok the rest of the night. It was a little warm for awhile yesterday and I'm wondering if that just made them both more uncomfortable. Both have almost completed shedded. Ditto still has a little more shedding to do, but Cat is almost slick. Cat's bag is sticky this morning, both sides. No wax, but she has been leaking a little. There is hair and hay stuck on both sides. Ditto has made more progress in her bag and it is really coming along nicely now. I have tomorrow off, so tonight would be a nice night for one of them to go, but I know that won't happen!

I'll be moving the outside cam around today to try to get a better and closer pic of their pen for during the day, so my cam may be on and off. We will be here all day today though, so if it is off, we are watching them.

TEA - Being Picky! @ Starlight Ranch - OVERDUE 347, Evening Update
Tea continues to get more and more uncomfortable and is obvious every time we have gone out to check her today. She is also being very picky with her food and is drinking more. We also checked her backside and it looks like she is dilating.

Lets hope this continues for the rest of the night!! I have braided her whole tail and don't plan to wrap it until she is foaling. With is braided it will also be much easier to tell when her sack is showing. We sure hope tonight is the night as Tom and I are getting extremely sleep deprived.

If she shows more signs by the next check we will definately let you know.

Nelly@ Belcher Quarter Horses due 2/20
AQHA appendix black mare- All That She Is- "Nelly" is on now on cam. She's in foal to The Hunter-ApHC World & National Champion in Hunter Under Saddle. I am wanting to get a hunt seat foal, so I'm hoping for some legs!! Color would be nice too.
I went with the due date of 2/20 since she foaled at 357 days last year. She has started bagging up earlier than anticipated so I'm expecting she may go earlier, maybe 2/13-2/15? She is very large, miserable, sore, not eating her feed well, stocked up in her back legs, and very loose in her rear muscles and has also been biting and licking sides for a couple weeks now. Her milk bag still has quiet a ways to go before being ready. She was a heavy waxer last year and showed all signs to let us know it was the night. Hopefully she'll do the same this year. Her foal is very active in her belly at all times. I have never had a broodmare whose belly was constantly moving around. You can talk to the foal and it will start moving. I hope this isn't a bad thing if you know what I mean. But this little one is always kicking and moving around.

We are currently awaiting setup of our other cam so that it hopefully can be viewed on marestare as well, but we don't know if it's going to work. We do have a wired unit w/ 2 cams, so it works much differently than the wireless units. Anyways, Lovely is in the other stall next to Nelly and she is actually due before her(2/7), but just starting the stretching of her bag, but no other signs. We can watch her from the house but not the internet. I have a feeling they are probably going to be close in their foaling dates. If for any reason someone thinks that I need to be called about something do not hesitate, day or night. Better to be safe than sorry.
I am so excited about this foal and pray everything goes well just like her other foalings. This will be Nelly's 4th foal. Will be her 3rd on marestare.

Early evening update there really wasnt a lot. Addi's udder is not going down any after being outside, she does still have clear fluid, udder is tighter and nipples are starting to fill. She was NASTY with her "friends" outside today, so I had to pull them back and let them out after she was put back. She is increasingly attitude wise, changing. She is still down a lot, was down for quite a while this afternoon I noticed. She doesnt seem to get very upset about being uncomfortable or anything, just some side biting occasionally or looking at her belly. NOW, touch her and I have to watch out now! Attitude change has to be a number one to watch with her, as she is usually a SWEETHEART! So, I am watching her more closely.

She has started keeping me awake quite a bit at night, and I find myself opening the cell phone and closing it, and not checking her...it is becoming a habit and I had better quit it! Seems as soon as I start to doze off, she sets it off again!
So, that said, when she does finally decide to get to business and foal, if someone calls me and I hang up on you, PLEASE dont take it wrong It maybe that I am asleep and just thought it was Addi calling!!! In my sleepy stupor, I do things I wouldnt normally do!!!

:goat:I noticed the butt tucks this am too. Her bag seems to be filling more down into the teats, her vulva looks the same not too loose yet. But just by her behavior I think its getting closer. She does have a white tip on her tail, for all of you watching, it's hard to see her colors on the cam-sorry! As far as progress, she is dropped more, you all caught that right off of course Udder is the same, maybe a bit elongated in the what is it yall call it? whoo hoo? Is loosening up in the hips, but I am used to mares that have had a few foals and really drop in the hip. STILL think her udder should be fuller, but she just may be one that gets it right before or after foaling. Her appetite is still good!!!
She has not been playing in the roundpen as normal. She is usually a playful thing and loves to trot, canter and buck around, NOT today. She stood off in the corner with her head down, much like she did today when I checked on her in the stall.

TEA - Out time Exciting @ Starlight Ranch - OVERDUE 348
Tea and Maddie had a heck of a play time outside. So much so we were affraid Tea was going to foal out there as her backend is really relaxed she is now swollen and completely out of breath when she came in. Finally slowed down enough to let us catch her as we were starting to get a bit concerned.
When I took her out no wax, when she came back in more wax. I think she got that foal moved around good out playing as part of her play was acting like she was running from pain.
I sure hope she doesn't slow down again but from the way she looks after being out that we just might finally get to see her new addition sometime in the next 12 to 18 hours. But we all are aware how slow Tea has been to progress

Cinnabar due 1/21 at Hicks Ranch
Cinnabar had almost no udder a week ago but now has progressed rapidly. I think she may end up close to her due date
Cinnabars Lil Star is the sorrel mare with 4 white socks and is carrying a foal by Jacs Electric Spark
Cinnabar has not made much change since yesterday,although she is shedding a lot which is a good sign. Shes very doubtful for tonight...

Update Rosa

I hope your week has started out good. We do have some changes in Rosa tonight. She is now testing four squares on her milk strips and her pH is dropping slightly. Nothing to make me think that she will foal tonight, but at least it's progress. She was pretty cranky with the other mares today and seemed to want to stay by herself more than usual....all signs that things are getting closer. I did put the foaling monitor on her tonight just to be on the safe side.
