Possible to change the name of a KWPN foal?

hello,

I am in france and just bought a kwpn stallion foal.

I would like to change his name officially.
but he already got his passport with a name on it.

is it possible to change it, and how can i do this?

Yes it is possible.
Just send the paper and passport to the KWPN with the new name. ( adress at www.kwpn.nl ).
You need to pay for it ( about € 20,-- ).

I'm curious what the name is of your foal, is it so bad?

but i also need to be a member of the kwpn i suppose?

and i don't need to have the breeder "ok" to change it?

so that's quite easy...because i know for the bwp, we need to ask the breeder.

the nae of the foal is Bambi...like the Walt Disney movie Haha!

so i don't want to go to competition with a horse named like this!

Is het anders als je in het buitenland woont?? Kun je dan de naam van een paard wel veranderen??
Mij is altijd gezegd dat je de naam alleen kunt veranderen bij stamboekopname en als het nog geen nakomeling heeft gebracht. Dit voorjaar heb ik er over gebeld bij het KWPN en toen gaven ze mij dit antwoord. Onze merrie zal dus haar naam houden totdat ze wordt opgenomen in het stamboek maar dan zal ze nog wel eerst wat moeten groeien. Of kan het wel als je ervoor wilt betalen??

Ok, that's no name for a competitionhorse. Haha!

But here in Holland you don't need to use the original name for a competition, isn't it the same in France?

I don't know if you need to be a member, just phone the KWPN and they will give the answer ( they speak English maybe French ).

Ik heb laatst, na de stamboekkeuring , een naamswijziging ( stalnaam erbij ) gedaan bij mijn paard en dit was geen probleem.

Dus als ik er Utopia achter wil zetten zou dat in principe kunnen? Ze komt uit de Utopia lijn en alle merries voor haar hebben als tweede naam Utopia. Maar Victoria en haar broers niet. Is toch jammer om dat niet in stand te houden. Voor een merrie tenminste.

i have a friend in belgium she changed the name of het special d foal.

but i don't know how she did, so it is possible from aboard!

Isn't it possible that you let your foal keep this name, until you go to the competition, and let it have another sportname?
In Holland is this possible, just like beber said.
On her passport she is called Sodera, but her sportname is Solero Shot!!

hello,

this is not possible.
we need to send the papers of the horse for registration, so the name on the passport is the name for the competitions!

so, i need to change it before i register him in France, because all horses on the French territory need to be identified and chiped (has a chip).
so even as a foal, he needs to be registered!

The best you can do is call the KWPN. First you have to become a member, everyone who has a KWPN horse should be a member officially. Then you can change the name by sending the papers to the KWPN.

It isn't a problem but you do have to become a member of the KWPN because you can only change a horse his name if it's officialy yours. You do need to beware that the name starts with a B.
