The Dutch NRPS pony gelding Alympia is your keystone for high achievement pony sport. Trained by the Grand Prix rider Arlette Holsters, Alympia received close-contact professional guidance throughout the De Deken ownership.
Intensively competed at FEI pony level, Alympia's dressage qualities are not limited to Third/Fourth level. Under his first Dutch owners, Alympia was supervised by Sander Marijnissen. The chestnut gelding knows how to piaffe and he has been complimented on that by Anky van Grunsven and Sjef Janssen. His basic gaits are highly marked (walk: 7 - trot: 9 - canter: 8.5) and the pony shows great extensions.
Re-examined by the vet on 25th October 1999, Alympia was found 100% healthy and his X-rays were perfect. The pony is easy to ride, always willing to work and is a true source of energy. Known as a real "show star", Alympia behaves "stallionish" in the arena trying to convince the audience of his talent. "Never in my career has Alympia let me down, he's a darling, my buddy, my soul mate, my 'pony' love of my life and I'm sure his next rider/owner will also fall as much in love with Alympia as I did," former owner Wendy van der Helm commented.
Alympia was sold to Belgium in 2000 and started a new career under FEI pony rider Julie de Deken. He dominated the Belgian Pony scene by winning at the CDN Vliermaalroot, CDN Brussels (67%), CDN Duffel and CDN Duffel Cup of Belgium. At the CDI Kreuttal, Austria, Alympia was overall reserve champion of the show. Alympia competed at the 2001 European Pony Championships in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, for the Belgian Pony Dressage Team and finished third in the consolation test.
