Not alone was Ard Allez Cat a successful showjumper, he was able to succeed in numerous competitions. At 4 he was one of the 12 finalists in the Millstreet National Discovery Championship. He became a Grade 'A' at 7, finished 6th in the National AB Championship Millstreet International, 1st in many ABC classes, won the Leinster Dressage League Championship and Evented successfully. He was placed 7th showjumping in Austria '95 on his first trip abroad.

His sire, Northern Value was a half brother (from the same dam) to the TB Le Dauphin, ridden by Torchie Miller to become the winner of the Rothmans's Grand Prix, The Champion Jumper Florida, winner of the individual Bronze Medal Pan Am Games and become 4th in the Munich Olympics as a member of the Canadian showjumping Team. Northern Value was also the sire of Bailey, Volvo World Cup finalist with Donal Cheska for the USA, and the sire of Oliver, ridden by Fiona Wentges to become European 3 Day Event Team Silver Medallist for Ireland.
His dam, Cat walk, produced three prizewinners at the RDS Dublin Horse Show but more importantly her bloodlines relate her to some of the most influential showjumping horses in the world. By Takawalk II who shares the same sire as David Broom's Philco. Her maternal grand sire Persian Gulf is the sire of Papayer who was one of four famous foundation sires responsible for the successful German Westphalian Breed. Persian Gulf shares the same dam as Precipitation, who was the sire of Furioso, sire of more than 30 International winners and 10 Olympic horses, a sire line famous in the Oldenburg German breed and Selle Francais. Jalisco B is out of a Furioso mare. Persian Gulf is the sire of Cornelscourt (sire of Golda a member of the winning Italian Nations Cup Team, Hickstead) and Tamerlane (sire of the great Irish sire Final Problem and the great German TB sire, Marlon ).
