Native speaker over here, great topic!

Interesting. Where are you from?

No native speaker here, but I have been a teacher of the English language for ten years now.
I teach at a mavo/ havo/ vwo which is great!

Its a great idea to speak good English.
At the moment i work at a barn where we speak English, because a coworker is canadian.
I've seen quite a bit of grammar mistakes already, or sentences that are formed wrong.

My English has always been pretty good, even from a young age, and sometimes my english is more fluent than my Dutch :p

Maybe we can do a little talk about ourselves, and yell the rest who we are?
That is also a good way to practice your english

Well, my name is Danique. I'm 18 years old and I live near Rotterdam. I'm quite fond of studying and using the English language and therefore I decided to give this topic a try!
I doubt I'll be flawless and I might make mistakes, but that's fine with me. Feel free to correct me whenever I mess up!

Can I join? :D

I love speaking/writing English! Unfortunately we don't get any language courses at my current school (I'm a veterinary nursing student), so last year I started a blog to keep up my English a little. This topic is a great idea :-)

Well, since i said we should intruduce ourselves, i guess i should do it too!

I'm Floor, and i hate all the 'floor' jokes that are out there. Every English speaking person, thinks they have some original joke about my name. I've heard them all by now.
At the moment i work at a barn in Belgium, and i've been here for 7 months now, but I'm leavibg at the end of next week.
I've worked with an american girl, an australian women and at the moment my coworker is canadian.
So i usually speak English all day long :)
Last year i worked in England for 2 months, and that really helped my english too, especially with the horse terms.

Well, I'd introduce myself too:
My name is Yael, and I'm in the third grade. I can't speak English very well, so I'd like to improve it. Like Danique, feel free to correct me! :)

A veterinary assistant is different from a veterinary nurse. In this case the latter would be the correct term for billonache's future profession. :P

Both translations are correct :j an acquaintance of mine studies in Edinburgh and they do use 'veterinary nurse' there :)

I'm Joyce by the way. I live in Belgium, I'm turning 20 in a couple of weeks.

May I join?

I am xxxx, I'm sixteen years old, and I really love the English language. I think it sounds much better than Dutch.
I'm in fourth grade by the way! Upcoming week includes a lot of tests so I'm probably not that active but who knows maybe I'll go sogging once again :') (study avoiding behaviour??)

Kind regards!

Woman is singular, women is plural. I (as in 'ik') is with a capital letter.

I guess it might depend on what your job would actually become.
Would you just take care of the animals, or do you help the vet with operations, among other things.

'Soggen' is 'procrastinating'. :)

I'm Alisha by the way (aka Lish or Sum). I'm currently in the penultimate year of my BA in History and I'm planning to move back to the UK for my MA (in Ancient History 8-) ).

About the woman/women thing you are right!
But the 'I' is to much of a pain in the ass to make it a capital letter every single time, because i write a lot in English too.

This is just what i needed! May i join you guys as well?

I'll introduce myself first.
I'm almost 25 years and am currently working and living in Doorwerth ( Wageningen/ Arnhem). Been born in Amsterdam and raised in Almere.

I have to admit that I'm not completely new to talking and writing in English. I used to do TTO vwo but never made it through to the 3th grade. I just finished my HBO study and work in the traffic measures as a drafter.

Also I am cheating a bit with writing English, because I do it on daily bases. My boyfriend is English.
I can still use some improvement though and what way better to do that than with other people!

Fleur, but it's also a pain in the ass to read a story or something when the author won't use it as a capital 'I'...
Oh and if I may correct you, 'too' means too much. You used 'to' which says: I'm going to leave. So if something is toO much of a pain in the ass, you should write too and not to.

Thank you Alisha, well I'd better go studying instead of procrastinating so I'm leaving you guys for a little while

Sorry to be so redundant, but there already is an English speaking topic, so it would be better if we go and chat there, because this topic will get closed. ;)
