Sunday 23rd June we held our first International Horseback Archery competition on the Raid track following the rules of the International Horseback Archery Alliance. De Flemming was our host in this competition, with also six of their horses competing!
We had 17 counted starts in canter, including from Belgium and Great Britain and 2 extra starts, not counted.
Kimberley and Silas competed in the junior category, both on Suus.
1st place Silas 41.52 points with Suus
2nd place Kimberley 40.31 points with Suus
Our senior category had 15 counted entries.
1st place Siem 98.22 points with James Wheres My Gun
2nd place Kimo 69.25 points with Egbert
3rd place Louise 48.62 points with Dajka
As you can see on the final ranking, it was a close call between 3r - 6th place but well deserved for Louise!
We also had two not counted starts, both of them riding Beer from the Flemming. Lisette shot 7 target points in canter, Michael 31 in trot (and some in canter, but no pressure! )
We want to thank everyone at the Flemming who helped us getting the competition working, especially Kim who had to get used to this new horseback archery language and culture. Thanks to all for giving us your trust with everything. It really means a lot to us and to the sports in the Netherlands.
Many thanks to all volunteers who worked hard to get and keep the competition running. It means a lot to us and only together we can do this! Many many thanks! Special mention to Marleen who made the great poster of the competition and helped us to get everything at the right place at the right moment. And Arno who brought his time measuring system with him! And of course everyone who came to watch this first international competition in the Netherlands since a long time! It was really nice to see so many people along the track having a good time
