Ik weet niet goed of het hier moet of het Floyd topic. Vandaag las ik een reactie van een Amerikaanse ex-officer:

I think it's completely different seeing it with a cops eyes. I truly don't think it was a racial issue, it had more to do with Mr Floyds rap sheet. This would have been his 6th felony, (some of his crimes were truly heinous), and the narcotics and methamphetamine (and COVID-19) he had in his system at the same time which would make him act strange to say the least not to mention that is a deadly combination. I think that the illegal drugs combined with his comorbidities are more likely what killed him.
I think we are sending the wrong message to children. I believe the message should be:
1 don't commit felonies
2 illegal drugs are dangerous and can kill you.
3. Stay home if you have COVID-19.
But these days it seems one can't have a opposing view.
Ik had zelf het naïeve idee dat iedereen toch wel door had dat wat Floyd overkomen was pikzwart was. Ja er is een heel grijs gebied rondom racisme, maar iemand laten stikken door overmatige agressie, daar is niks grijs aan.
Ik merk dat het me boos maakt en me ergens doet begrijpen dat mensen dingen doen die onverstandig zijn (zoals met 5k mensen op de dam staan). Hoewel ik het nog steeds veroordeel schrik ik hier echt van.
