De witte media gebruikt erg graag MLK quotes om protesten van de zwarte bevolking af te keuren, maar MLK is zoveel meer dan dat. Vergeet dat niet.
Hier loop ik dus ook tegenaan. De witte media. Mij is als kind altijd geleerd dat ik geen kleur moet zien. Ieder mens is gelijk geboren en de hoeveelheid pigment in je huid doet er niet toe voor de kwaliteiten die een persoon heeft. Dat is toch ook de crux van dit hele verhaal? Mensen die juist wél worden beoordeeld en benadeeld op huidskleur? Niet elke persoon die blank is van huidskleur is schuldig aan dit voorval. Wit zijn staat niet gelijk aan racistisch zijn. Een 'racistische' media 'witte' media noemen slaat de plank mis.
Geen kleur zien is zo'n verkeerde indruk. Want er is wél kleur. Mensen zijn wit, mensen zijn bruin, mensen zijn zwart en alles daartussen en verder. Maar al die kleuren (en cultuur en religie) moeten gelijk zijn, en dat is niet het geval.
