[EG] Herkend iemand dit paard?

sorry, i'm from the UK and don't speak Dutch but i'm trying...

Does anyone recognise this horse?

I’m looking for the previous owner of my horse.
Ik ben op zoek naar de vorige eigennar van mijn paard.

Does anyone recognise him?
Heeft iemand hem herkent?

He came from the Leusdon area.
Hij kwam uit het gebied Leusden.

All I know is that his breeder was C. de Vries haarweg 14 Leusden
Alles wat ik weet is zijn kweker werd C. de Vries haarweg 14 Leusden

He was born in 2000
Hij werd geboren in 2000

He’s doing very well and I love him very much.
Hij doeth et heel good en ik hou heel veel van hem.

Most people in the Netherlands speak English fairly well, you don't have to bother with Bablefish (or whatever

) to try to make yourself understood. You have not posted your question in the right forum, but I have asked the moderators to move it.

What's the pedigree of your horse?
Have you tried the Dutch Warmblood Registry? http://www.kwpn.nl/home_uk.php

Nice horse!

I think it will be difficult for you to find the previous owner.

According to other (old) topics here at Bokt, mr. C de Vries is not only a breeder, but also a merchant. He buys horses, and sells them to others.

Do you have a official pedigree, or only a sort of passport?

If you have a official paper from a studbook, you can try to contact them. Maybe they can help you.
If you have a passport with De Vries in it, it's more likely that he bought your horse (maybe on a market, or sale) and sold it to others. Then you can only hope that someone recognizes your horse.

Divine -Thank you for this information.
I only have a productschap voor vee en viees passport. No stamboek details.

It would just be nice to know what he's done before i had him.
He's such a nice horse to look after and ride.

I trieded to find a phone number, but didn´t found one $:\$ .
Perhaps you can write him/her a letter?

If you only have a passport, it is most likely that Mr. de Vries is not the breeder.

Searching through the telephonebook is not giving any results for De Vries, in Leusden. Also a program to search for adresses and directions (ww.routenet.nl) is not able to find the Haarweg.

As Sterre says: does the Haarweg in Leusden really exists?

Does anybody here know what a "paspoort van het productschap Vee en Vlees" is, is it the same sort of passport we have for our horses in the Netherlands, or is it a special passport for exporting a horse?
I mean: in the passports I have for my horses, the Productschap V&V is mentioned nowhere...

Haarweg in Leusden does nog exist if you look in Google maps.

The most near by Haarweg is in Veenendaal:

I think you are both right.

I have not written to them because i think the address does not exist.

Are there any other web pages anyone could tell me where i post information/photos to see if anyone knows him please?

The passport was made the day he was exported to England so i think it's one especially for export.

Divine, do you know perhaps in wich topic was talk about mr. de Vries, or otherwise were he lives?

"ponymens" has a horse with C de Vries on the passport but i cannot understand all of what is talked about.

Ponymens kon ook geen informatie vinden over C. de Vries.
Maar zou deze man niet in Woudenberg kunnen wonen?
Daar is wel een Haarweg bekend.

I tried to search here on Bokt and I also found this: eilander @ [HK] van KWPN over Holstein tot BWP ,fokker/eigenaar en ruiter .. .
They are talking about a breeder named "de Vries" so I send "Eilander" a "PB" (=privat message) and asked her if she can help us

Unfortunately 'de Vries' isn't an extraordinary name.

Ik kom uit Leusden, er is (voor zover ik weet) geen haarweg in Leusden.
Iemand die Van der Pol kent in Leusden? Waarschijnlijk komt hij daar vandaan, deze mensen kopen paarden, trainen ze een tijdje en verkopen ze weer.
Ik ken een aantal mensen die hier werken, ik zal het eens vragen

Dear 007,

I just bought a horse with the same kind of passport as yours has. Same story, just got chipped a day before I bought it.
If you ask me, it will be a tough job to find out where your horse came from. What has worked for me once in the past is to place a picture and and advert in one of the populair horse magazines in The Netherlands. But then again, if your horse isn't having any studbook papers, then he could have come from anywhere and ended up in the netherlands. In the past a lot of horses without papers came to The Netherlands from countries like Poland in traincarts with the purpose of ending up in the slaughterhouses.
The good ones where picked out for sales and the rest ended up on someone's plate or as dogfood.
These days these things (shouldn't )don't happen anymore because of the chip-law, but not every country in europe has that law and so there are still al lot of horses that come across the border without chips. This makes it very hard to trace back theirs steps.

I really hope that someone is going to recognise him and will be able to tell you his past. So good luck !!!

p.s. It is a lovely looking horse by the way!
