I'm not sure what size I would like it, you probally have a better vision on it as i do?! I'd like it not to big, not to small.
Sorry for the many questions, I'll hope you will answer them anyway.
If you can send me by email the file in .eps or R12 .dxf format, I will see if I can use it. I can redraw and then re scan a line image but this is time consuming and not very accurate, so vector files are very useful and save lots of time (the copyright is yours on your original artwork). Once I have got this, then I will be able to make a better judgement on time but it won't be a silly cost and once the design time has been covered, as a repeat design it then falls to a standard cost plus an extra couple of € to cover post to the NL.
The clipping (shaving) stencils are made from self adhesive vinyl. It is very sticky as it is made to last a long time in its real use, but as a stencil, it is sacrificed in shaving the design so they are only for a single use (you will need two stencils for your plan sorry). Design size is depending on the horse. You can use a tape measure on the target area on your horse and give me a precise length on height which you need the shape to be and I can scale and cut the stencil to that.
This is a very busy time of year for me and design really takes a lot of time, So first to order will be at the front of the queue.

A rendition of that would be possible, but the small detail would need some thought. It would need to be redrawn to make it easier to shave. We did similar for the penguin from Wallace and Gromit on my daughters TB mare the other week.
I posted the picture a few pages back. Nearly anything is possible, but it takes a bit of working out at the design point how to make as little work to get the effect.

Alles bijelkaar genomen zijn we langer bezig geweest met het uitsnijden van het papier dan het scheren zelf.
Ja, Lin wilde niet de hele tijd stilstaan dus eventuele fouten kunnen hopelijk nog bijgewerkt worden.
Tijd uitsnijden papier: 2uur
Tijd scheren: 1,5
We zijn ook nog van plan om de zon van een paar pagina's terug op haar nek te scheren

Do you have an example of a clipping stencil with a crown?
I'm thinking of a 'simple' design like this:
My horse is called "Vorstin" (Queen), so I thought a crown would be nice for her

Standard designs (ones which I have already created) I am charging approx €14.50 including airmail postage to NL, custom designs like a name is an extra €3.50 to cover extra design time, anything above that which I have to go and research and re work with to get the design I will quote individually for - I don't want to be a 'busy fool' so have to cover the time taken in making them.
For example, the large carrot design like that above would be in total €18 including the design time and posting airmail to NL as I already have the carrot shape, and so it will be the cost of a custom name stencil.
In equivalent to the UK, I charge £12.95 GBP for a custom name design, but have to add an extra £2 to post air mail so check the exchange rate, they might be a little cheaper as I use a value of €1.25/£1 to calculate. my numbers may be a little off though

. So much time I spend looking for either inspiration or compromise. Much of the design inspiration comes from horse owners, much of the compromise comes from lessons learned doing this and you have found how much time you can kill playing with shapes before you are happy to commit it to the horse. I have learned to compromise a lot with making designs for horse shaving. The perimeter line around my design is not actually part of the design, but many people prefer to keep it so they can frame the shape.

And throw in a moon to fit the sun on her neck
Or I'll do my very best to find something that is really hard to make and spend 2/3 days on it, not sure yet.
Only stars won't take that long?

It is one of my designs
The pony (Jessie) with all the stars is one of ours (my daughters first pony and we have had her for about 8 years now). She is the most fantastic pony and we took her from zero as a brood mare to doing THIS . On my website in the photo gallery, there are many photos of them with designs on to look at. Using simple shapes like the stars on a horse which is clean to start with will mean that they can be used 2 or 3 times and will remain sticky, but the regular stencils are one use only as the shaving process destroys them as you work so you can see where you are going with the next part to shave. The value in the stencil is the result it gives, and not really in the stencil itself.
If you are going to spend a lot of time shaving the design, if you can hold off until the final Christmas clip for your supreme effort, then the design will stay on for many months

I have to honest. I saw this picture a couple of years ago and I really wondered why/what/how as it was such an extreme version of body shaving.
However, If you follow this link, it does make more sense. The horse was being used to demonstrate clippers at an equine show.

Je paard heet SGW of life's Vorstin. Is dat eerste een officiele naam? Of is dat wedstrijdnaam ofzo, ik zie er heel veel mensen mee namelijk. En andere mensen hebben dan weer SGWay of life's, hoe zit dat dan?
