Looking for help to find the real identity of a horse.

Link naar dit bericht Geplaatst door de TopicStarter : 29-01-12 20:22

I am looking for help to find the "family tree" (I dont know the english word for this) on a mare exported from Holland.
The horse has a passport but it is most likely not the original passport, the real passport have disappeare according to the old owners.
The mare is blue gray. Born 05051995 in Tzummarum, the name in the passport is Sandy.
Breeder info is "De Vries". (nothing more)
chip number 52821000044996

KNHS
PO Box 3040
3850CA Ermelo

Tel 0577-408200
Signed by: M. van den Heuvel

There are no marks in the passport that she exported out of Holland.

That is the information I got for now. If I lack some information, ask and I will see if I can find it.

The horse family tree is not in the passport but according to the current owner this is because the original passport is lost and theirfore they just registred her without "family tree".

Is it possible to find out who this horse really is?

She looks like and moves like an lusitano or a PRE.

Would be very greatfull if I could get some help from you all. :)

This is probably the phonenumber of K. De Vries in Tzummarrum, the breeder of your horse, maybe you can call him and ask if he remembers Sandy?

KNHS is the dutch federation for hippic sports; if you call the number you have, they can probably tell you more using the chip number that you already have :)

K. de Vries no longer lives in Tzummarum. He moved several years ago to Portugal. His son lives in Tzummarum now, but they no longer breed horses. He might be able to help you though....Good luck! I never knew they breeded horses...

Is De Vries a common last name? And is Tzummarrum a big place?

de vries is a common name in the netherlands, tzummarum has 1451 citizens according to wikipedia and the directory lists 12 people named 'de vries' :)
edit, none of them has a first name starting with a 'K' :+

Friesepoonie mentioned that K. de Vries no longer lives in Tzummarum, but his son does, but she didn't know if he is breeding horses also like his father.
Maybe that's the reason you can't find K. de Vries Jade?

horselogic, if you want to send mindfields or friesepoonie a message, you can use the 'pb' (private message) button at the bottom of their message in this topic. it will open in a new window, you can send the message by using 'versturen'.

Hi. I live in sweden and the horse is also here.
I ask about this horse cause I am planning to buy her. The pedigree is not important (more fun) since she is an amazing horse to ride.

Thank you for all the help you give me! :)

I know that K. (Klaas) de Vries's son doesn't breed horses. He only has cattle, but I can't remember his first name. (Sorry....)He has a sister who used to run a riding school on their adress, but she quit a few years ago (2 or 3) and she moved out Tzummarum. But where she lives nowadays; I couldn't tell you. I will send you a personal message with the adress, maybe that can help you out. But I'm almost sure they won't understand English....

Is this the mare? She does not look baroque (Lusi or Andy) at all more KWPN type with possibly some Groninger or Gelders blood.
I see that her age is listed as may 5th 1995 ... which would discount her as a KWPN IF her real naam is Sandy. The 'S' year of registry with KWPN was for those foals born in 1999. 1995 foals have names beginning with 'N'. This of course does not mean that her real name begins with N and Sandy is just a given/nick-name.
Does she have a brand (this might also give a clue about her age)? I believe (but am not certain) that KWPN foals were still branded in 1995 .....
What size is she?

Her head looks alot like the head of those lusitano I have seen here in Sweden. Her body is short, like a square. The picture is not good to use if you want to compare her to a lusitano and the ones I got from the side I dont want to put up on the internet since the owner is in the picture (and I would not like if someone put up a picture of me without asking first). I sent this picture to Kabouterdans in hope (a small hope thou) that someone will recognise her.

Is Groninger and Gelders a breed or a type of horse?

Where do I find the "branding" on a horse?

I hope she has the right passport, but that should be possible to find out by checking the chip she has and compare it to the number in the passport.

Thank you for the "PM". I will ask a friend if she can send a letter or call them, she is from Holland.

Perhaps they know the horse. I will keep my fingers crossed. :)
